GUNS N' ROSES TO PLAY COACHELLA APRIL 2016 - CONFIRMED!

Recommended Posts

I still can't fathom what's the plan behind this, somebody should have realised that most fans would dump the Coachella tickets with the announcement of Vegas. The excitement on the forum for the "warm up" shows is 10 fold that of the supposed main event. If I were the signer at Coachelle I would be seriously pissed right now. Something special has to go off at Coachelle otherwise why the money? They also need to make an announcement, the people who care about this are dropping like flys.

I don't know what all of you mean with the "why the money if it isn't the first show" thing. Coachella pays them for playing on the festival, not for playing there the first time, ot fifth time, or last time. It seems pretty obvious. And what they do before and after is entirely up to them. While I can understand that there might be a clause regarding some large audience performances in the very near vicinity and in more or less the same time, other than that, I see no reason or grounds on which any festival would dictate the artist, especially the artist of a GNR caliber, what they shuld do when and in what order. It would be ridiculous.

Yes you are probably right, but I wondered why pay over the odds for them? It's the manner that this was done in, feels under handed to me. If I had brought Coachella tickets to see Guns thinking it was the first date of the regrouping,I would feel aggrieved by the Vegas shows. I guess that's not Coachella's fault, but lack of transparency by the band. I am just saying unless something was brought to Coachella that wasn't in Vegas I think I would feel slightly played.

Coachella was never going to be a GREAT show anyway, nothing would have made that show spectacular and amazing.... because it's a festival. Most people attending Coachella don't give a crap at all about GNR. Most people are going to Coachella to see OTHER bands. I even bet the GNR set is probably going to be shorter than the ones in Vegas. In Vegas, it's going to be NOTHING but GNR die hard fans! GNR knows that and GNR will naturally feed off the energy of that audience. I am absolutely thrilled GNR is playing Vegas before Coachella. The capacity at the T-Mobile Las Vegas Arena is only 20,000 people. and everyone there is there to see one band and one band only, Guns N Roses. I hate festivals anyways, the smaller the venue the better I like it. I think the Vegas show is going to be the most amazing thing since the Ritz Feb 2nd 1988 show! And it's Izzys BD on 4/8 so I bet he shows up & probably steven too since it's their first show, if he's going to guest on any show, it makes the most sense for them all 5 to be a part of the very FIRST reunion show. And yes, I bet they are having someone pro shoot the show... IT'S GOING TO BE HISTORY in the making! I think the first show in Vegas will be the most important and meaningful show they could ever possibly play the rest of their careers. Of course.... I'd LOVE to get to go to one of the secret warm up shows they are doing before that. I don't think Coachella cares... GNR are just another headliner to Coachella, Coachella has a history of having the biggest names and big reunion shows in the past, Coachella sales out within minutes every year with or without GNR. At least the fans were able to get their money back from Coachella and get the Vegas Tickets. I need to start playing the powerball, because if I played the powerball and won, I'd LITTERALLY go to every show that Axl, Slash & Duff EVER play together FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. GNR is like a RELIGION to me. Seriously. It really is THAT important to me. It's literally my LIFE. If I only had the money I'd go to ALL their shows. But I am just so excited that in 72 days & 20 hours and 30 minutes I will be in Vegas seeing them take to the stage. Yes I am literally already counting down the minutes, and ever since I bought the ticket today I have been filled with so much excitement I can't even sleep. haha! I'd say a lot is going on behind the scenes that we will never know about, lots of wheeling and dealing with all their management and agents. The band is probably somewhat out of the loop as well. Their management team is working to make them all the most amount of money possible. And I imagine lots of variables keep fluctuating day to day and that's why they don't have everything set in stone yet. Of course they tested the waters with the Coachella and all the slow leaks and hints before anything was ever announced. This is going to be the biggest Rock Concert Tour in HISTORY of rock in Roll... bigger than anything the Stones, Aerosmith or Zeppelin, or Van Halen have ever, ever, ever done. I hope this makes them all BILLIONAIRES! Just think, the more money the band makes especially Axl, I think the more likely Axl will want to put out several more studio CDs with all new material. I don't think GNR can have transparency because they don't know what's going on so much either, it's not their job to know, they pay smarter people to handle the business aspects for them. So I'm not blaming any of this stuff on the band.

Coachella will be the first pro shot show of this band. That counts for something.

Is it confirmed Coachella is going to be pro shot? Or streamed/pay per view?

I'd like to see it if they do stream it, and will buy the dvd for sure if they put it out.

I think Coachella is happy with how it's turned out so far, Coachella got all the media and press they were after. They are sold out now, so Coachella has already made their money regardless of what or when GNR plays now.

I hope Skid Row reunites with Sebastian,,, I'd love to see Skid Row be the opening band for GNR during the 25 stadium tours... If GNR comes here to Austin I will probably see them here as well. We have a huge 360 huge stadium for the F1 race track here and Poison, Motley Crue, Def Leppard have all recently played there, I imagine that's where they would play if they come here.

You know something I have wondered... what is the significance of the bandanas hanging out of Slash's back pocket, do the colors mean anything? I've seen most if not all the band members with those

Who is saying Vegas won't be pro-shot? Not saying it will, but you don't know that it won't.

I suspect every show will be... But will it be shown anywhere ?

Don't know, but there's no guarantee they'll allow straining of their set at Coachella either.

Pretty funny how anti climatic Coachella is now. So glad I didn't end up getting tickets for that. It ended up costing me $750 total for my ticket flight and 2 nights in a hotel for Vegas. A lot less than Coachella would have cost.

Once you spend money in the casinos and restaurants, it will even out. Vegas is expensive as fuck even without a big concert.

Yes and no. There's so much to see and do in Vegas without actually spending a whole lot of money. Fuck, people watching on the strip can be entertaining for hours.

Actually Coachella has something of a history of reuniting bands, and I think they can in fact buy the exclusivity of being the first show (by putting it in the contract), and since it was rumored the band is getting $7 million per show you'd think they'd want to be the first....

But, Coachella sells out every year regardless of the line-up, so maybe they know they'll make up the cost from ads on the live stream or something?

Either way, most people on here weren't happy that very that Coachella seemed like it was gonna be the first show, personally I'm stoked as fuck to be going to the first Vegas show but I had absolutely no interest in Coachella tickets, it's really not a GNR type of festival (there's only a couple other bands I'd want to go see), most people were just excited for the live stream. I'm glad the first shows won't be at a festival TBH.

Wonder how Volcano's feeling about reunion

I saw some posts on other forums. I give him credit, he didnt seemed thrilled about it but said hed give slash a chance

It's nice to know he's actually alive. I was more worried about him than Adler.

If he's not careful he might even enjoy himself when this all starts.

I'd say there's about 2 to 3 people that are not excited as fuck about Slash and Duff being back in Guns. And Izzy is writing and Adler is not saying anything mean. What more can you want? it's not like Axl even kept his band together or used their ideas.

The only problem is CD ll for those who like Chinese, but not sure how Slash and Duff can harm Axl's ideas. Slash made November Rain and Estranged 10 times better. I believe he just has that ability to come up with brilliant ideas cause Axl inspires him. And he said Axl's vocals on Chinese were great so I don't really see a problem here.

You even have Fortus, someone that Slash doesn't fuckin' hate to work with. Not many downsides to this reunion imo.

That guy. Poor soul.

He said he was going to quit supporting Axl if,

Bumblefoot left

DJ Ashba left

Axl reunited with Slash

Those three things have happened, but he's still supportive of Axl. What a clown. His word is shit.

I really would be willing to bet it'll be pro shot, or at the very least someone will record the entire show and upload it to YouTube :P

This thing will be too big not to have photos and videos be on the internet within hours of the first show..
