Spent the whole day watching the videos and my wife is pissed but who cares!

Mindblown, just mindblown seeing Coma played and how good it sounded. Same with Double Talkin' Jive. Watching Top Hat play on the old canon, particularly NR and SCOM, YCBM , RQ etc was very emotional/nostalgia inducing. It was surreal to see Slash playing on the GN'R catalogue that he wasn't part of making. I think it was mixed bag though. Slash sounded great on TIL, but I prefer the original version of Better - among all GN'R songs, that song is just different and unique the way it was though Slash' final solo was lovely. Chinese Democracy was interesting but not in a bad way - I'm sure that as all these songs are played more often, it will all grow on viewers. I would really be interested to hear this version of the band play TWAT, Catcher in the Rye, Street of Dreams - those were very UYI-ish songs on CD.  While it would be great to hear a gritty, raw, bluesy AFD like album from these guys, it would be a tragedy to not hear some of the missing CD tracks, or more UYI-sounding tracks in the future. I really, really hope that we get to see CD-2 with Slash and Duff playing as the next step. GN'R have evolved and I hope they continue to.

BTW - the Sonofabitch videos are just the best. I could appreciate Better only after viewing his videos.

As someone pointed, Axl doesn't have the power he used to while singing clean and that takes away from some of the songs, but overall he was just superb. I think it has to be in part due to the fact that he isn't moving around. Running around and then singing Guns songs has got to be tough. But, he is a trooper for performing despite his broken foot  - though, to be honest, sitting on that throne was kind of cute and ridiculous as well as funny. It looked like he was a GN'R emperor. Civil War and Nightrain are two of my favorites but I hope that we get better performances on these in the future.

So damn excited to see the positive press. I think that Guns have performed terrific shows in the last decade but a lot of the negative press was due to the absence of top hat in the line up. I've read a few negative lines from some hold outs that wouldn't be happy without it being the 5 piece AFD line-up. You just can't make everyone happy. Nevertheless, it is good to see some balance to the Force in our GN'R universe and there will be more acceptance of the band's present line up and new music. I laughed while reding Eddie Trunk's twitter and him saying that Rock N' Roll is alive sort of captures that hope. I'm sure that a lot of old Rock fans feel the same way, even if nothing big happens commercially.

I have to say that Dave Grohl's gesture was awesome. I never got the Foo Fighters and have harbored irrational Nirvana resentment for a long, long time. I'm almost 40 now and it's time to bury it I guess.

It's interesting to see that Nice Boys is on the alternate list. I wonder why they have ditched WLR! Maybe it's on purpose, to keep an air of mystery and surprise going - and the AC/DC rumors are probably true. Or maybe, it's because Axl cant move around for that song. Judging from what Trunk is saying, or not saying rather, there seems to be truth to the rumors.

I have mixed feelings about playing VR songs - those are not GN'R songs, but I think it would be interesting to hear Axl cover FTP, Slither etc.; it would be a nice gesture as a tribute to Weiland and his fans in the VR/GN'R crowd and indicate that Axl , Duff and Slash are at piece with the whole VR episode.

My thoughts on everything I saw from last night:

First off, I will like to give credit  to Axl for performing injured and being in a good mood about it. That being said, it really hurt the show for obvious reasons. Axl Rose is 50-60% of a GNR show. Having him sitting down throughout the show immediately takes points away from the performance. His voice was not good, I don't know what happened to him in 2010 to make him have such a strong voice, but I think it is safe to conclude that he will not sound like that ever again, Another thing I didn't like was the crowd. You get more excitement from a pianist concert than you got from last night. That took a lot from the performance. The cell phone has killed the concert experience.

I bought tickets to the San Diego show, but I have to be honest that I am not as excited about it as I was before watching the Vegas show. I know Axl will be healed by August, but if he was unable to hit the notes sitting down, I don't see how he will be able to do it moving around and dancing. The perfect time for a reunion would have been in 2010. I don't what it is, but there was no " IT" factor to the show. Somebody else on drums is desperately needed. I think if it was Slash's call, he would dump Frank immediately. The guy has no business drumming for GNR. He is a good drummer, just not for GNR. I am hoping that there is a miracle and Steven Adler will be able to play on some of these shows. Another thing that bothered me was the playing of the CD stuff. "Chinese Democracy"and "Better" have no business in these "reunion" shows. I can understand playing 1 song from CD per show and it should be a song that is closer to the old sound and complements  Slash's style. I think TIL was a good choice, but those other 2 songs are atrocious and kill the vibe of a show.

I give last night's show a C-. I would have given a lower score hadn't not been for Slash. He saved it.

I agree his voice is underwhelming, but I have no issue with them playing Chinese Democracy tracks. I actually find it kind of exciting.

This was never really going to be a "reunion tour." Axl is still a stubborn guy, and I don't think he would have been willing to completely invalidate his years alone and the new band's work by just going out on an Appetite tour. Slash and Duff are probably not even legally "band members" in the traditional sense right now; Axl probably still controls the band name.

New York New York is a great casino and the room rocked, but I hated the sound of the roller coaster each time it passed.  Rooms aren't very soundproof. ;)

Ah that wouldn't bother me at all, I very much doubt I'd be doing much sleeping if I went to Vegas haha, especially if GN'R were playing :P Hell, I've barely slept anyway and I'm not even attending haha!

I don't think playing one song per show like TIL, Catcher in the Rye, TWAT etc invalidates it. "CD" and "Better" are in my opinion awful songs and the worst from that album. Not only are they bad, but they do not come close to the GNR sound. People are paying hundreds and thousands for these shows to see and hear a blistering set of straight up GNR Rock n'roll. I don't think they should be giving us so many piss breaks per show by playing these songs. That is what the guitarist solos are for.

when you have Axl Rose sounding like Mickey throughout the whole show, it leaves no margin for error on other stuff. If his voice was powerful, I would be more forgiving on this other stuff. We all said and agreed that Axl would make or break this "reunion", and right now it is not off to s good start. Slash played so well last night, but without Axl's powerful voice and presence to complement it, it doesn't really matter. If I just want go see Slash play, I watch his solo stuff. The same goes if Axl sounded great and Slash played like shit, They both need to be in top form for this to work and justify those ticket prices.

P.S Axl needs to stop wearing those hats.

For those that attended last night; I understand the catwalk stage configuration was removed due to Axl's wheel.  Was that the only thing changed? Is there still a separate GA "Pit"? With reserved seating behind the GA Pit?

I usually opt for reserved seating, but the smaller GA section had me opt for GA for tonight. I couldn't tell from any of the videos or pictures, but some almost looked like the whole floor was GA.

Thanks in advance.

We turned up at about 8.30pm and got 3rd/4th row.

So you are correct that it is a separate area.

Everything else is seated, including the floor behind the GA area.

The floor was half and half like the seating chart. I was there :)

Just want to say thank you to the member on here who gave me basically a free GA ticket last night, amazing! Met a few of you last night, everyone was great. We were all very excited, not knowing exactly what to expect with Axl's injury and all.

Now that Pitman is gone (thank you Axl), Dizzy is now officially the douchiest member of GNR!  Congrats Dizzy!  But seriously with the suit.....

Sorry if it has been posted already but I just remembered I recorded this:

This is great thanks and glad you captured it.  Axl at first thinks he can get away without saying his name and then he quotes himself from the Ritz '88 but kind of awkwardly.  It'll get easier Ax!

Have not seen ONE estranged video yet

Axl still sounds great on the lower register. He sounds fantastic in this video, as does Slash. Ferrer on the other hand...I dont mean to beat a Dead Horse, but holy shit he's just got to go....

As I realize, after browsing YouTube, that the quality of most clips isn't that great, I'm going to upload what I got.

Nothing more than a few short clips but imo they sound better than most of what I've seen.
