This would be like literally the only thing that *might* keep me from going to see GnFnR in Pgh... I don't know that I could stomach that... Then again, I guess I could always get drunk somewhere and stoll in at 11pm.

Your latter suggestion is what I'll be doing if the opener ends up being roughly 90% of what's been suggested so far in this thread haha.

If they are doing 70-100,000 person stadiums of course they'll need big names. I saw AiC a couple few ago play for 10,000 people, they're a decent draw themselves, but I think they'd need another band or two of that popularity. I'm thinking maybe they end up with something like the Black Keys or QOTSA and keep AiC, even though I dislike both other bands. AiC/Chris Cornell/Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, and some alternating local bands, would be my ideal 'opening line-up'.

QOTSA never would sign on, after the whole "pigeons of shit metal" episode. Josh Homme isn't a huge fan of Axl's after that.

Alter Bridge and or Halestorm

The exposure both bands would get would be nice, however, both are busy for the summer.  Halestorm is on the Carnival of Madness tour and Alter Bridge is opening for Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed (let the jokes commence).  That stated, I do not want AB anyway near GNR for the time being for the next year or so.  I guess I'm a little tad too tired of Myles doing stuff with Slash (and by proxy, Duff and Matt and others regarding Kings of Chaos shows) and just ready for projects that Myles is in that I get behind.

As for the main topic.  Hmmm.  AIC would be a solid pick as Duff is a huge friends of theirs and I'm sure Slash has great respect for those guys.  I guess A7X would be a decent pick as well (is a relatively popular modern band and has been influenced by GNR).

I would love that, but they are on tour all Spring , and Summer. I have a meet and greet with Lzzy this July!

Ah Lzzy, she's a good girl, so proud. Here's a trivia question for Halestorm fans. What album did Lzzy sing backups on 2 tracks , when she was 16, marking her first guest appearance on an album. Here's a hint, the album was recorded in 2000 and was shelved for 15 years, no one ever heard these tracks until it was released last month. Any guesses? Here's a hint, the author of this album is typing this as you speak. http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/dmusic/195254011?ie=UTF8&ref_=pd_zg_hrsr_dmusic_1_3_last#4 So, in short, who the fuck is Ichabod Crane!?

Nice to see me on the charts, even these charts, just pictured with Alice and Zep is good enough for me.

Santa Cruz would be stellar but they just announced a tour with Bach. My guess would be a band that most Guns fans could care less about. My dream would be Skid Row (Bach) Aersosmith then the Gunners, but I'm sure the government would shut that down for to much bad assery in one night.

Skillet for the Pittsburgh show.  I'll need something positive to even out the night once I get blackout drunk, take and Uber home and likely forget I parked my car at the casino.

Seriously though, no opening act, let's just do this!

Blind Melon. Obviously there's GN'R history there, and BM still play sporadic shows with Travis, the new singer.

That one record they did with him was great, would love to see them get some more momentum back & maybe record again too, but that's a different topic....

How about Puddle Of Mudd? At least will be guaranteed some drama with Wes Scantlin hahaha

I have been watching some of their latest shows. I pray Wes gets some help before it's too late. Used to be a great band now it is just so sad.

I agree, was never a big fan but hate watching people fall from grace. I made a joke but in all honesty I hope Wes gets the help he needs.

Highly unlikely but a GnR stadium tour with X Japan as opening act would AMAZING! X Japan has been around since the 80's and are considered the GnR/Queen/KISS of Rock in Japan. They have played and sold out the Tokyo Dome 3 times back to back, they put such an amazing show and have great rocking tunes to the most beautiful heartfelt ballads. As of 2010ish, they made it out of Japan and started playing in other world markets, selling out venues.

This song is a testament of their musicianship and legacy. They managed to do something I have not heard any other band do ever, not even Zeppelin. At the 6min mark Toshi (singer) stops singing the chorus and lets the crowd take over with just the piano playing, then Yoshiki (piano/drummer) stops playing around the 7:46 mark while the crowd keeps singing in unison a capella for a minute. He comes back, Toshi joins and do a couple more rounds until the song ends. Such an euphoric moment.
