Everything is great until Axl sings. I'm so over his weak vocals with GNR after hearing what he did with ACDC. At Vegas, his vocals sucked the energy out of too many songs. And in Detriot, with ACDC ingrained in my mind, it's just a shame. Sing the fucking songs already, Axl!! Just think BIB, and sing Rocket Queen. And do that for the entire setlist, ya know, like a professional singer does it. Like you did it. With Angus. It's enough of this Mt. Everest voice.

It was the Where do we go part.. I thought it sounded great... Anyway, I haven't been the biggest Axl Rose fan the last couple decades but I can't knock him for this.. Obviously he can't sing like he used to but he still sounds a lot better than I thought he was going to and is giving it 110% on stage at least.

was there ever an official box score release?

I'm not sure how Billboard does their weeks. Because the show was on a Thursday, it may not show up until next weeks charts.

Neat essay on the reunion and the first gig. Also hails the greatest line ever written about Duff McKagan, that he looks like he walked off the cover of "casual badass" magazine.

That was hilarious! Worth the read.

Great and smart review including this line:

Meanwhile, Slash jammed with not-Izzy for awhile on Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here,”

Sorry Richard ;)

I am not sure how anyone can say the man isn't giving his all after holding those screams on live and let die. I also agree it is hard to judge a whole concert based on fan shot video and through a tiny mic on a phone. You have to be there.  To me it is sad how critical some fans are... Look if they deserve  the shit and they suck that's one thing.  Then by all means don't let them off the hook.. I just hate the negativity that surrounds this band even well... when they are doing a kick ass job.  I just wish fans would enjoy the moment more instead of being in the headspace critiiquing every note and riff.  This ain't perfect but it is kick ass rock n roll and as a GNR fan this is an amazing piece of there history we should be enjoying.. I know I am.

^^THIS. I am so tired of hearing how criticized this band is! You took the words right out of my mouth. Maybe I'm a die hard fan. Maybe I'm biased. But I love GNR with every breath I have in me and will defend them always. I understand critiquing them to a point but some people go way overboard.

Pre-party photos! Starring @RussTCB, @ZoSoRose, @KURT19, @Wagszilla, @DanielCT, and a couple more whose forum names I can't remember offhand. I took less the more I drank, so as the party got more crowded there were less pictures. Whoops :tongue2:

Not sure if this was mentioned it I recall people were fretting here that the stadium looked 1/2 full prior to the concert date. Yet it looked packed the night of. Any reasons as to why; just normal selling last minute tix? Giveaways? Any insight

Probably a bit of both. They definitely weren't super-full though - I had really shitty seats originally (I basically couldn't see anything behind the start of the stairs), and several songs in went to ask at guest services about getting my seats changed, since mine were still $160 and not sold as partial view. It was, by far, the easiest time I've ever had getting my seats changed/upgraded at a show. First off, I didn't even have to go to guest services; the usher at the entrance to every section had a stack of tickets for relocating people - the usher outside my section had to have 200 or so alone. When I approached him, he upgraded me with absolutely no questions asked. All I told him was I had a poor view from my seats, and right off the bat he said "that's no problem, I'll put you up at the front of the floor if you like". He didn't care where my seats were, he didn't verify I really had a bad view, he didn't even have me trade in my original tickets like they usually do, he just instantly gave me a pair of tickets fifth row in the floor on Slash's side. I left my seats at the beginning of Rocket Queen and I was to my new seats by the middle of Slash's solo, couldn't have been more than 5 mins tops.

So in short, even if it looks completely packed, looks can be deceiving. I'm not saying the show was a disaster attendance-wise, but my experiences show it wasn't close to sold out at all.
