They have both said they weren't really great friends back in the old days. I recall an interview with Axl back in 93 94? Where he stated that GNR will always be Axl/Slash and GNR wouldn't exist without him. It's fuzzy but I remember it being very heartfelt, could of been 95. Anyone recall?? Plus that video of them in Detroit during rehearsals sitting in the stands side by side laughing was positive

batman007
I can't write anything that hasn't been said . This was my 12 or 13 time seeing Guns since 2006. And was defiantly one of the best . I can't decide if I personally liked the Hammerstein show or last night's show better. Hammerstein was my first time , Axl was on a different level in his voice in 2006. And I really liked the 2006 lineup. Last night though Axl did prove to me that he is like a fine wine. His voice was great! The band played awesome ! My highlight of the night was better. What Slash added to that song is amazing ! Hands down Melissa is the best in background vocals , ever! She is fun to watch . I can always see her jumping around . Great addition to the band . Slash has always been one of my favorite guitar players because of the stuff he invented for Guns. I , however never considered him on a buckethead level of playing . Not that I like bucket better . But last night Slash took it to another level. Seeing what he can do live was incredible. The man is a fn beast! My friends that joined me both said it was the greatest concert ever ! I would love to know the amount of people that attended . I say 60 plus. 5 star concert for me .

Un42nutzly
Audio review of radio personality Cindy Scull from 97.1 KEGL. She is notorious for making fun of GnR and Axl especially. Looks like this show really changed her mindset of the band/Axl. http://m.kegl.iheart.com/onair/cindy-scull-mornings-26340/guns-n-roses-scully-review-video-14977125/

Popular Post metalgod
+1 to everything Un42nutzly had to say. I saw Guns back in 2011 at Gexa Energy Pavilion, which is a much smaller out door venue. Axl was good then but last night, at AT&T stadium, he was mesmerizing. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this concert. The previous shows from this tour had me confident that Guns were going to put on a great show but I was really afraid the crowd turnout just wasn't going to be there to justify such a large venue....I was WRONG! My friend and I showed up at 6:00pm and there were already a significant amount of people lined up at the gates, which didn't open for another 30 minutes. I was surprised to see alot of people there in their 20's. If I were to guess the general age range was 20-50 split pretty evenly. My gate entrance was just down from the Merch trailer so I was able to hit it as soon as I cleared the gate. I was one of the first to make it to the trailer and I picked up a lithograph and a shirt. Guns songs were being played on the out door PA systems and yes I saw some people literally running to the stadium as they cleared the gate. I seriously felt like it was 1991! You would have thought this band currently had a number one single. People were that excited! Once inside, the place was buzzing. People were everywhere donning their GnR shirts. The fan base for this band in the metroplex area is second to none! We walked around the inside of the stadium taking it all in. It was our first time to be there and "impressive" isn't enough of a word for this venue. Other than just the obvious I noticed how clean this place is kept, the staff do an outstanding job. I suppose it helps to keep it maintained when tequila shots are $13! After pounding a few we made it to our seats in section 333, which I thought were great for this concert. You could still see the band pretty well on the stage and had a great view of the side screens. That and along with being mid level really let you experience the size of the crowd. The cult came on for about 45 min, maybe. They were tight and sounded great. Definitely up to the task for opening for GnR and holding their own in such a large place. The crowd really enjoyed the set with people up dancing and jamming out to "Sweet Soul Sister" "Firewoman" and "Sanctuary" I am thankful to have had them as our openers. After their set I hit the restroom and stood in line for another beer. It was 9:28 as I was getting my Miller Lite and I hurried back to my seat not wanting to miss Guns take the stage. I kept thinking any minute and here they would be. The minutes started to pass and nothing. My friend was legitimately worried Axl had decided to play video games tonight instead of put on a show....I wasn't worried. There was an undeniable energy amongst the crowd. It was a good thing they didn't come out on time as people were still at the concessions etc at 9:30. It was amazing how the seats filled out over the next 20 minutes. We all started to get excited as soon as the gunshots started going off over the PA system. Everyone, who was there, had been anticipating this for a long time, and we were all ready. Guns stormed the stage with "It's so Easy" and the crowd went wild! Axl ravaged the stage last night. Running up and down, to both sides all while hitting the words and the notes, proving he is still the best frontman in rock in roll. Axl interacted alot with the crowd through facial expressions, being able to command applause with a tilt of his head and show his thanks through a smile. It was a give and take relationship between the crowd and the band last night on which we ALL DELIVERED! Slash was on his A game all night as well. I don't understand how anyone can complain about solo's, when Slash is working the strings, this is rock n roll! Duff's presence alone was a joy to watch. He started to sing "Cant Put Your Arms Around A Memory" and then broke into "Attitude" which the crowd was surprisingly in to. At least my section was, it rocked! I thought Fortus was great with the band and really enjoyed his jam with Slash. Everyone seemed to accept him as a band member. I'm not going to break down and critique every song. There are plenty of videos to watch from last nights concert. What I can say with up most certainty is that this band came out in a manner that was nothing short of ferocious! One thing that really surprised me about the crowed is how many of the people were on their feet for the majority of the show. Were are talking 3 hours! The set list was fantastic with a 4 song encore! To those who don't like "The Seeker" it fucking rocked! The co worker that came with me was a bit apprehensive about coming...he couldn't think me enough for bringing him along after the show was over. We made out way out of the stadium at 1am, rocked down to the bone! Leaving the show I didn't know if I was in a time warp and it really was 1991 for the last 6 hours...No I wasn't. This is happening NOW and Guns N Roses are that fucking good! It was a 3 hour shot of adrenaline for me and I left wanting more. If any of you are apprehensive about seeing them do yourself a favor and go get your tickets now! To the girl I met walking back to parking lot 4. If you are on this board, it was a joy talking to someone who loves this band as much as I do. Best of luck to you, hopefully we will cross paths again sometime! Basicredhead17
Last night was pretty indescribable. I never in my life thought I would see GNR live. I went with my husband and our two best friends. We were in section 128. The sound wasn't great, there were times I couldn't hear Axl well, but it didn't last long. I was BLOWN AWAY by Axl's vocals. I always knew he was the greatest frontman but seeing them live takes my admiration to a whole new level. Slash was amazing. I am still completely overwhelmed by last night. It was like a spiritual experience. My section was pretty into the music but my husband said he looked around and no one seemed quite as enthused as me, haha! But he also said no one was looking at me funny so it's all good haha. I hope they come back to the Dallas area soon.

Popular Post giuls
I don't known what you mean about Slash and Axl, Axl messed with him and he was all smiles, Axl isn't one to hide his emotional responses to things, if there was tension i don't think Axl would be so relaxed, Slash was never the most expansive live even less so when he got sober and they were friends back in the day, Slash said that he loved Axl "to death" and the immortal "i'll still be your friend", yes, they fell out and we don't know the intensity of their relationship now but saying there were always only colleagues in the past is revisionist history and i don't go hug my colleague if i have to talk to him. I sadly agree that Better seems like the weakest link, it's a pity, it's one of my favourite on CD. Edited August 5, 2016 by giuls

lassie
16 hours ago, KeyserSoze said: it looks more to me like they called an audible and Axl went over and told Frank and Melissa they were switching it up to Michelle, he said it in the Mic, and then front of house told everyone in their in-ears? its a possibility right? Not true at all. Frank was walking all over the backstage and by the pits. I have photos to prove it. Surprised the band went all out last night. Is this the longest show of the tour so far? Axl was having fun last night. I think it was during KOHD he pointed out some dude on Slashes side pit that was wearing a neon green shirt and said "thats a bright ass fucking shirt dude" then started laughing about it. He was also joking with the crowd about what to call them: Arlington? Dallas? Fort Worth? and having a laugh. He also did a lot of running which is always good! At the beginning of PC, Axl tells the crowd, "Its my fault. I tuned that one! Its special." At the very beginning of Rocket Queen when Frank and Duff are doing that little groove jam, Slash took off his guitar he was using for LALD and started doing this weird little dance hoping up and down to go and get his new guitar. Its so awesome to see them so happy. I seriously hope we get a tell all interview once this all dies down about what happened and how it happened. After seeing this show 3 times in 3 different cities, i've come to realize that a vast majority of the crowd can only stand up until This I Love. Once TIL hits, its a snooze fest until Axl holds that note towards the end and the crowd becomes interested again.. I enjoyed every bit of it though, and would gladly go see them again if i could. Im so happy i got to experience Sorry too! With vocals this time It really caught me by surprise when Fortus was playing the intro on guitar. I thought he was just giving us tease and then jumping into Don't Cry. I think that may have been an audible as well because it seemed like there was a little confusion on the stage before the band went into it. Everyone was out on stage, but nothing was happening. Can we take a minute to talk about Melissa? I know she has been a hot topic for GNR fans lately. But god damn, her backing vocals are freaking insane. Especially on Sorry. She fucking kills it each night. Also she was wearing some sort of outfit last night that you could see right through... Call me a pervert, but All in all i loved this tour and i cant wait to see what happens next Why do you think many hate the CD songs? I know it is not their best album, but still there are some great songs on it. But i guess it comes down to what "most" songs people grew up with. Still sad, because it is quite a good album

Awesome to see! The sound systems haven't been the best but Axl overpowers that obstacle at times with his vocals, and when he goes weaker on the vocals it tends to blend with the music so people only hear Axl at his best, but Slash's guitar picks up Axl where he faulters so that combination has led to brilliance imo. The energy is undeniable, it's exciting and it definitely feels like you are getting more than your money's worth with each show. The intro gives me goosebumps and to see those guys take the stage together is unforgettable. It's a tour well done!
