When you play a MIDI keyboard, which Dizzy and Melissa are playing, and which Axl could be playing for all we know, you hit a key which triggers a computer to play the note you want to play. Sort of like typing on a keyboard that tells the computer what letters you want to appear on the screen. What happened during November Rain was a computer malfunction, like if a keyboard got stuck and kept typing the wrong letter, or if a computer or phone freezes up and starts functioning in an...undesirable way. The computer was generating a bunch of random notes on its own.

colonizedmind
Not only the best YCBM from the tour IMO but look how INTO Axl is, doing all the moves! He was feelin it in Houston and that's fine, in this day and age of us watching every show, we're getting to see nights that aren't quite as good, but he's human and it's the same for every perform ! U can't be that intense and into it every night...Just a fact aint it! Awesome when he is! Keeps it interesting and reminds us, he can go up a level yet...

The "Wish You Were Here" & "Layla" bits were the weirdest to me . . . I guess I don't get why a classic rock band needs to play classic rock covers when most of their own songs are pretty, um . . . classic. Why not do "Mama Kin" or "Nice Boys"? I could be misunderstanding your wording but "Mama Kin" and "Nice Boys" are both covers also.

Popular Post Jeff42
I was at both the Dallas show and Houston. Dallas was great, not complaints but Houston was at another level. They were on fire from the get go. Slash took things to another level and Axl was going all out and sounded great. Not sure if its been discussed but there was some overlap to the two shows in Coma. In Dallas, Slash and Axl turned into each other out on the ramp stage left. It was talked about at length on the Dallas thread as evidence of "tension" between the two. Well in Houston, at the exact same moment in the song, Slash was stage left and Axl came out there. They were both looking for each other as Slash turned around. Slash was laughing as they made sure not to run into each other. Was a great moment and shows they were both remembered it and could laugh it off. Not sure how many people noticed. The "piano incident" was hilarious. You could tell something was horribly off but and when Axl stopped November Rain I was wondering what would happen. But they laughed that off too, went on with the song and were professional about it. It's a silly highlight that I will always remember having been there. Again, great show. I'm exhausted from 2 late nights in 3 days and travel down and back to Houston (I live in Dallas) but it was totally worth it. The shows are great and they are bringing their all every night. I would make small set list changes for personal preferences but I won't go into those. Bottom line, this has been a "Not In This Lifetime" experience.
Lies They Tell
Seems like Axl's slowly getting his 2010 voice back. I'm happy!
James Bond
That piano thing is funny as shit. Axl of 1992 would have stormed off, but here he's laughing his ass off. "I don't mind ghosts and gremlins but they should learn the fucking song."

I love a good cover and GNR have done some of the best rock covers ever! Their version of Live and Let Die is definitely the best! Precisely. "Mama Kin" & "Nice Boys" are part of the classic GN'R canon, and were both relatively obscure choices when GN'R recorded them. "Wish You Were Here" & "Layla" are two of the most over-played songs on classic rock radio. I don't own either album they appear on, yet I know most of the words to both. Ultimately I think that section of the show is designed to give Axl a breather before the final stretch, so it's not like there would be any big screamers there anyway . . . and luckily for me I'm a huge Richard Fortus fan, so of course I was loving the Pink Floyd cover because he was fucking wailing like a champ! I would make small set list changes for personal preferences but I won't go into those. Bottom line, this has been a "Not In This Lifetime" experience. I was at both shows too, and you are spot on. It was such an incredible experience. I would score Dallas as 9.2 out of 10, but Houston was more like a 15 or 16 at least. Even the November Rain piano thing was a gift, because having Axl stop and restart a song should be part of the ultimate GN'R experience. The fact that he was so amused by it and handled it so perfectly was even better. I could write pages about why this show meant so much to me, but time and energy are in short supply. To sum it up, the last time I saw "the band" was three years ago at the Houston House of Blues. Just compare any of the videos of Nightrain already in this thread to this: I left that show so disappointed and so resentful of Axl for taking what I consider to be the mightiest band in the world and letting it become such a mediocre joke. Maybe that was part of the plan all along, to make this rebirth even more extraordinary. Who knows? All I can say is that I am so grateful to him now for going to the trouble of giving GUNS N' ROSES back to the world. You can't even accuse them of a cynical money grab, because they could have put in 50% of the effort that are putting into these shows, and still made however many millions of dollars they're making. But they are delivering the goods in a way that is far beyond what we could ask or hope for. There is literally nothing that anyone could complain about. As much as I love Steven and as much as I hated Frank based on all the videos from the first few shows, I am now a Frank fan. He nailed every song perfectly. Every aspect of the show was perfection.

Tom-Ass
Wow, not sure why I clicked on that Paradise City but it was fucking awesome!!!! Best Axl has sounded on that this whole tour. I stopped watching them because it is usually one of his weaker songs. And Slash was in a zone from hell at the end. Could have watched him go awhile longer. I know someone who went to this show and him and his wife and left the show and went home during Better.. WTF??

Absolutely - I like Bucket and Robin and Richard but Slash should've been on the songs Axl wrote. Well hopefully a new album will be released in the future with another North America tour to follow. However with Axl finishing with AC/DC, the South America tour and Europe, I wouldn't expect them to tour the states again until 2018. Man, I'm dying to see them again!
