Ok, so I've had almost a week to think about this and I think I'm ready to call the 04/09/2016 Guns N' Roses show the single greatest concert I've ever seen. My top 5 is now officially ranked as such which is obviously all highly subjective due to my like of each artist in general:

1) Guns N' Roses, Las Vegas, 04/09/2016
An amazing concert for so many reasons not limited to; the line up, the set list, the city, the company I was able to keep, the energy and Axl's voice in general

2) Prince, Detroit, 04/09/2015
3-hour clinic on how exactly to perform music for a crowd of people. I was lucky enough to get a soundboard recording of this show and still can't believe I saw it in person. As a side note, I didn't realize until writing this up that it was exactly one year to the day before GN'R.

3) Jack White, Detroit, 04/30/2014
This was almost a dead tie with Prince due to length of show and energy from the entire band. I saw the same tour in the same city but at a different venue 2 days prior and the difference was night & day. Monday's show was good but not great due to a lame, cell phone checking crowd. Wednesday's show was completely unchained as if JWIII was determined to make up for Monday's show.

4) Roger Waters-The Wall, Auburn Hills, 10/24/2010
My favorite album of all time performed by the guy who wrote it along with arguably the greatest I drew front row center in a lottery on Roger's site which made this all the more sweet. It wouldn't have mattered where I sat and I actually sat in the very last row on purpose when I saw the same tour 2 years later. The second show almost edged the first one out due to me meeting Roger earlier in the day, but the first one gets the edge for the pure magic of it being the first time.

5) The Black Crowes, Detroit, 08/20/2010
No opener, a 90 minute acoustic set followed by a 90 minute electric set and one of the best overall setlists I've ever experience in my 20+ Crowes shows. This is another one that I have the soundboard recording of and still amazes me that I got to see in person.

Absolutely epic list.

Alot of concerts fall into third place for me, so I'll give you the top two... specifically because I think there is a slight chance you were at both, Russ, being from Michigan...

1.  Guns N' Fucking Roses, April 9th 2016, Las Vegas, Nevada.

2.  Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003, Pontiac Silverdome, Detroit, Michigan... Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Biscuit, Deftones, Mudvayne.

I wasn't at that Metallica show, but I heard great things.

They only time I've seen them was at Silverdome with GNR in 92, then I saw them 2 nights in a row at Pine Knob in 94.

The last time I saw a concert at the Silverdome was seeing Pink Floyd twice in 94, but I had a good run there. Besides seeing GNR/Metallica, I saw U2 there in 92 and the Stones on the Voodoo Lounge Tour.

I actually have a Silverdome chair in my music areas at my house!

Would that be one of the covered in weeds variety, or one of the non covered in weeds variety?

For the rest of my life I'll never be able to look at this field and not see Barry Sanders breaking it off on people in my minds eye.

The place looks like that now but my shows were when it was in far better shape lol. My chair is in great shape too. All the seats were like $40 but they were charging $150 for all the #20 chairs because of Barry. I was more in it for the concert memories so i just took whatever number was available.

I know this thread is about GnR concert in Vegas, but I gotta say I love that you put Jack White on your list. Btw, have you ever seen David Gilmour live?
As for the GnR show - DEFINITELY my #1 as well! My #2 would be David Gilmour last december. #3 Richie Kotzen 2014. #4 Aerosmith 2013. #5 Joss Stone 2014.

JWII is one of my all time favorite artists. Funny you should mention David Gilmour.... I saw him in concert the night before GN'R in Chicago last week! I'd see him twice with Pink Floyd before that too.

Starting February 25 and ending on May 2 I will have/have seen:

-Black Sabbath @ MSG (meh)

-The Who @ MSG (awesome)

-Bruce @ MSG (awesomely awesome)

-GnR twice @ T-Mobile in Vegas (no need to discuss)

-Pearl Jam twice @ MSG, once from the pit for the 1st time ever (cannot fucking wait)

.....this is/has been the most epic concert run of my adult (man child) existence.

Vegas VIP swag has arrived... Pretty cool stuff. Big duffle bag, small bag, hat, and numbered lithograph, water bottle, playing cards, laminate... All has Guns logo & Vegas 2016 on it. I'll definitely wear the hat and use the bags. Getting the lithograph framed. All in all- cool...

Was that for the silver VIP?

Oh yeah, @ZoSoRose told me he was supposed to go to that Gilmour gig. I can't believe his show is not in your top 5. But I guess seing Pink Floyd twice kinda overshines Gilmour's solo performance.

Talking about GnR in Vegas, my favorite song was BY FAR Coma. Both nights I screamed until I lost my voice. It was a dream come true.

My second favorite moment was surpringly enough, Slash's solo on This I Love. I don't even like to hear that song live that much, but his solo was SO emotional it brought me to tears. It's pretty common for me to cry in concerts lol (my worst moment was David Gilmour playing Coming Back to Life - I was sobbing) but in Vegas I was so overwhelmed that only that solo made me cry.

Floyd did the Dark Side of the Moon for the first time in 19 years when I saw them in 1994, but honestly that's the only Floyd/Gilmour show that would make my top ten. I've seen some amazing, amazing shows that I don't take for granted but it gets really hard to choose between lol

I think the last 2 bands on my life's hit list are Metallica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I've really had some pretty intense thought and review of who I've seen, and honestly outside of bands with dead members or ones that are not together anymore that's basically it.  I'm not really sure what I do after I cross these last 2 off the list to be honest.  It saddens me.

When Axl does the scream at 2:51 and Slash cries his guitar right in sync with it ... THAT is the best moment of the weekend. Holy shit they were so lit.

My god that is better than I even recall...it is about perfect to be honest.  Love the look on Axls face at the end too...he's like "holy fuck I think I nailed that!"

To me the best moment(s) was Nighttrain.  I love that song in general (who doesn't), but man.....I was AMPED for that song both nights.  Axl had the look in his eyes both nights.  So fucking intense.  I'm not sure I was as into any other song as far as jumping, bopping and playing air guitar as I was for Nighttrain.  Slash murders that fucking song and leaves it on the side of the road for dead.

I'm positive I could have broken a 2x4 over my head either night when they were playing it and not even flinched.

1. GNR the first Vegas show. The first big reunion show.

2. GNR in 2012 at the Fillmore in Detroit. Really small theater and I was literally leaning on the stage. Met Ron and played his guitar, caught picks from everyone, a stick from Frank, shook Axls hand a few times, great set, and Axl sounded awesome

3. GNR in 2010 in London, Ontario. My first GNR gig and I was in the pit.

4. The Rolling Stones in Chicago in 2013. My first time seeing them, Mick Taylor played Sway with them

5. X Japan in Chicago in 2010. Tiny theater show. They're one of my favorite bands ever and have only done one small usa tour

Honorable mentions for my 4th and 5th spots- Roger Waters doing The Wall in 2010, U2 360 Tour, Paul McCartney, Rush's R40 Tour, Metallica at the second Orion festival

I was always indifferent to the Chili Peppers, but my wife and I went to their show at The Joint for New Year's Eve 2002, and it was un-fucking-believable.

We had a line pass from my HRH host, so we ended up front row on the rail on Flea's side. Word of warning - Flea drools like a mental patient when he plays; spit and drool flying everywhere, including the front row on the rail. :)

From where we were, we could also check out Heidi Klum off to the side of the stage. My wife liked her boots; I liked her other bits.

Next morning, we ran into Flea and his GF in the elevator on the way down. We thanked him for the great show, made some smalltalk (my wife made sure to touch him) and after a couple of floors this pair of kids gets in and are just raving about the show, for the next 8-10 floors, and don't notice Flea is standing literally right next to them.  We hit the casino floor, doors open and everyone moves off to the side to let the ladies out, Flea and his GF exit and start to book, and my wife taps one of the kids on the shoulder and says "You know that's Flea, right?" :)  Kid totally lost his shit.

Just back from Vegas.

It was amazing to meet some of you! Had such a laugh. I'm sure the pictures have been posted somewhere.

What an incredibly emotional rollercoaster. I won't bore you all with a detailed review - i'm sure it's all been discussed to death but just a few points:

Axl SLAAYED everything! Slash was on fire. Duff was unbelievable.

F'ing COMA!!! I lost my nut!!

Saw so many people including big grown men cry! I managed not to cry until Estranged... then burst into tears for Layla. To see the three of them around the piano was amazing. Because Axl was in the throne, it was the first time seeing them all together so close. Jesus even know I get chills thinking about it again. And November rain was so magical, when slash did the solo at the end, next to axl, the fireworks oh man it got me!!

On Saturday, I was lucky enough to take advantage of GN'R starting 'early' (just after 11pm) and made it up to the front, right in front of Duff. I only managed to get 3 hours sleep since the Friday show so i was exhausted.

Shout out to the guy from Tel Aviv (not sure if you're a forum member!?) but you were hard core and shimmied me right up to the front when the pit started! Cool decoy - thank you! I had a fantastic view for the rest of the show.

Did you guys see Slash doing the Ashba/Hogan ears on the first night? hahaha

Lost my mind on night one for the better intro, thought it was a new song! The new intro and Slash on the song is KILLER. CD is back to how i like it, nice and heavy. I was always disappointed how different CD was on the studio over the album. Love how Slash plays it!
