I like Axl's tweets :max::shrugs:

A way better than Mr. Saul Crazy Pervert Hudson's Instagram account :smiley-confused2:

I love his tweets too, but they are a bit on the "mincy" side  :P  j/k

Slashs Instagram is starting to have an influence on his T.Shirts now (disgusting golden arch legs from other night) :max:

No wonder Duff bought him a shops worth of cool ones for his birthday.

Maybe Axl is a more complicated case that being bi, like being a gay woman in a man's body :P

lesbax.jpg

Seriously now (as much as serious this thread can be  ), Axl has said that when he listened to Elton John's Bennie and The Jets as a kid he wanted to be a performer.

Hey kids, shake it loose together
The spotlight's hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
We'll kill the fatted calf tonight
So stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound

Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet
But they're so spaced out, Bennie and the Jets
Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh Bennie she's really keen
She's got electric boots a mohair suit

You know I read it in a magazine
Bennie and the Jets

Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets
To find who's right and who's wrong

It's a song about a fictional band, whose lead singer is a girl who magnetizes the kids with her electric music and her weird, flamboyant clothes. I don't know if this means something more than Axl's choice of clothes.

I'm also thinking of Freddie Mercury, regarding the clothes. (Thank god Elton's John's appearance hasn't inspired Axl as his music did http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictures/photos-elton-johns-outfits-through-the-years-20110202:D)

Aww, I love Axl's tweets. No matter how childish/ridiculous/gay/mincy (lol I love that word) they get.  The more of that the better as far as I'm concerned.

(And yes, Axl's cute tweets are a million times better than the nightmare that is Slash's social media )

27 minutes ago, dgnr said:

C'mon don't be mean, that is the cutest of them all. It's for a little girl, it's just:hug:

Yesss!!! I thought that tweet for Dave Grohl's daughter was so cute. The fact that he remembered her full name and the way he tried to make the tweet little girl-like with all the flowers and unicorns and stuff  So sweet of him to do that

Also @dgnr That is totally a Slaxl moment  I only wish we could see Slash's face, but it seems to me like he's smiling at Axl too.

@Andy14 Yeah these daddy comments made me go :vomit::confused: too. I agree with @dgnr , we are clearly the normal ones, at least we don't call Axl daddy. :nervous:We only want him to kiss Slash

@MillionsOfSpiders Yeah, Duff probably saw all these horrible shirts and felt compelled to do something about them  That's probably why he bought so many. So Slash would never have to wear any of the awful ones again. Seems like Duff's strategy didn't completely work though :max:

@SerenityScorp Well I wouldn't say no to some Duff/Axl gayness either

@Blackstar Well, I sometimes feel like a gay man in a woman's body, so that makes as much sense to me as anything :lol: Also thanks to you I finally understand what that song is about. I don't really know anything at all about Elton John's music (and I don't feel like learning more about it either tbh), but I've wondered about that one before.

As for the childhood pictures, I think that depends a lot on your parenst and how much they are into art and technology. I don't have a lot of pictures of me when I was a kid either  My parents weren't into photography and weren't skilled with cameras. Also, back in the day cameras were a bit expensive and not so easy to use, like now you have cameras in your cellphones and thats it. So probably, Axl's parents were boring like that, while Slash parents were more progressive and into arts, that's why they would photograph their children more often.

Those things are very hard to tell but I wouldn't be surprised either. I think he's always been aware of his looks and that he sexually attracts men as well. The issues he has with that is what has prevented him to relax about it and makes him act defensive. Somehow he's used the stage as a shelter to be androgynous and don't give a damn about it. Ever since he started performing he has used his seduction tools to engage the audience and he knows his audience is full of hairy pro-hetero men  yet he didn't back off from wearing tight pants, leggings, small shorts, small shirts and all kind of tight female clothing.

While I'm typing this I can't stop the flow of images that come to my mind about Axl being an ambiguous motherfucker . The St. Louis riot is one of the best examples of Axl wearing this flamboyant coat onstage, the tiny white biker shorts and in a minute changing from that "artsy" situation to another that is grotesque and belongs to a dark alley in the Bronx, lol

That ability he has to express both male and female features is what makes him fascinating as an individual and as an artist. Even to this day, he keeps playing with that but I'd love for him to talk about it and finally admit something about his androgyny. The only time I remember that he's ever joked about it was when he said this...

When the other day you and @Frey (and I guess @Blackstar was part of it too) mentioned the story about that guy who gave him a lift while going to L.A. and tried to rape him, you people said that the rape had probably occured and Axl was hiding the truth of it... I was thinking that the way Axl tells that story is not how a rape victim would put it out. Especially a male in that situation, they would never mention something like that. What I do think is that he may have exaggerated some details, like him heroically "pinning the guy between the door and the wall" with his razor. He seems to have all kind of stories of homosexual men trying to seduce him or go to bed with him, which is not far-fetched because of what we're talking here. I also think that Axl knew what kind of tools he had, he was pretty aware of his looks and sensuality and he may have used that to seduce a couple people for self-benefit.

Yeah, I know. Slash is exceptionally lucky in that regard because his parents were artsy types and into that kind of thing. I've never seen anyone else who was born in the 60s who had childhood pictures like Slash. Still, Axl's got to have some as well at least. Maybe he'll put some into his biography.

I love the way he played/plays around with his androgyny as well and would also love to hear his thoughts on that. But I think we're gonna wait a long time for that to happen  The only thing I regret about this new and happy Axl is that he doesn't seem to like doing in-depth Rolling Stone type interviews anymore. Which makes me sad, because I always enjoyed reading his thoughts on various topics (even if they sometimes made me go ) and on himself.

I think it's interesting how Axl always used his sensuality/sexuality in a very provocative way (especially on stage, but not only there), probably very aware of the effect he had on people (all kinds of people), yet he always seemed very uncomfortable with people actually reacting to that. And then you get him whining about "aggressive gays" and stuff like that.

2 hours ago, killuridols said:

I think we all have

Axl Bitch Im Fabulous.gif

Not sure that he's more open nowadays.... To me is that since most of his aggressive attitude has gone now, that "macho" component he used to exacerbate in the old days has been replaced by this "happy" appearance, which now puts him closer to his female side in the gender expectrum........ am I making sense? :rofl-lol:

And I don't mean to say he's gay, lol, but most gay men that I know become more flamboyant in their old age than when they were young. It is strange but they start looking and acting like "old ladies" :rofl-lol:. It's funny, many of them make fun of themselves because of that. Axl strikes me that way too. He reminded me of my English teacher when he was talking in the China Exchange thing, making those faces and movements with his hands.

I'm also curious about his wardrobe choices these days. The shirt around waist, something I know he wore in the 90s, it resembles a skirt now. Most of the time it looks like he's wearing a skirt. I love it, but it is odd

Sometimes to me he looks like a mixture of a man-child and an extravagant lady . All of this is gold to me, I love it, I love his image, the Janis hat, the skirts (lol), not the weird vest from the other night, but all in all, I dig Axl's crazy outfits and I support this looks. But I know many people think he's weird and dont like what he wears. I love analyzing why he dresses like this. Mike Amiri said on Instagram that he spent a good couple hours talking to Axl about fashion and how he came to develop his looks. How I wish I could have heard that! Axl hardly ever talked publicly about his sense of fashion :max:

(Sorry, had to leave that gif in because he's just so fabulous there :rofl-lol:)

What you describe is actually what I meant lol. I guess I used the word open because that's the word Axl used when he talked about how you have to keep yourself sensitive and tender with your cats  But yeah, what you're saying totally makes sense and I agree.

And yes, I love the way he dresses too. Not necessarily every single thing he wears (Axl and Slash both suffer from Cringeworthy Shirt Disease after all and some of the shit Axl wears is just plain ugly), but in general. I find the way he dresses very entertaining and interesting to look at. I love the androgynity of it all as well. I've said before how much I love girly glam Axl and I like that he still hasn't completely given up on that (I'm not sure how I feel about the eye liner nowadays, but if he likes it, then more power to him). I'm all about the skirts and girly accessoires as well.

This hat for example. Lol I'm probably gonna get banned from this thread for this, but @pinkforgirls posted this gif today in the hat thread and I kind of realized that this fancy lady hat (someone there called it a Carmen San Diego hat lol) is probably my favorite hat of his. The style is very feminine and so is the color, but I love it.

8c64dcf5-62d2-4bbe-9085-32ac525f2650.gif

(And while I'm making fashion confessions, I also love the studded leather jacket. NOT THE NEW UGLY ONE WITH THE UGLY GREEN FRONT!!! The older one that he's been wearing for a long time. It's gotten some hate here before, but he wore that jacket when I met him and I thought he looked really good in it...)

I think you're right. I'm not much into gay men porn, I do not actively look for that stuff or harbor pictures/videos in my computer. It happens with Axl only and one time I was obsessed with 'My Private Idaho' and 'Velvet Goldmine'. Then I dig a couple lesbian things like "Blue is the warmest color", "The L Word" and a bit of "Orange is the new black".

It's very similar for me and I know it is for many other women as well. I think the difference here is that women tend to like/need more of an emotional connection when it comes to the things they are into. Most guys are happy with porn of random people getting it on. As long as there are boobs, asses, etc. and fucking, they're happy. As a woman I couldn't care less.

I don't care about heterosexual porn because I hate it and am disgusted by it because of the horrible and demeaning way women are treated in most straight porn.

I don't care about gay porn (or lesbian porn) because that's still just random people having sex to me. Random people that I don't give a fuck about.

BUT things start to look completely different if I'm actually interested in/care about the people I'm looking at. So if there was a hypothetical "leaked" sex tape of Slash and Axl for example, you can bet your ass I'd probably watch that. Until then I'm just gonna enjoy all the cute Slaxl moments they graciously provide us with

I think this is also why fan fiction (not just GnR fan fic, I mean fan fic in general) is popular with women and why so many women read/write fan fiction (but only few men do). Because if you read/write fan fiction that automatically means you get to read/write about people or fictional characters that you already care about and feel an emotional connection to, which is what's important for many women and you just don't get that in your average run of the mill porn video.

Yeah, I miss those long awesome interviews he did back in the day

They still make a lot of sense and answer some of our questions when we post them here. But yeah, an updated version of his current state of mind would be great. I loved the China Exchange thing but it was just too little. At least we could see his faces and mannierisms we love so much

lol yeah, Axl selling his meat onstage and not wanting people to react to it   This is sooo funny... Here he remembers the Rio episode when that naked guy grabbed him from behind and he was wearing a thong. He says something like a naked son of a bitch ran behind him and tried to butt-fuck him :rofl-lol:

Yeah, his shirts are not so cool now. Back in the day they were the best, with all those amazing messages like "Kill Your Idols" and such

I saw that gif in that thread too and I saved it! Not my favorite hat though. I love the color, it is one of my favorite colors, but not for a guy! If this same hat was black, it'd look amazing on him, just like the other one with the feathers/laces (a.k.a. Janis hat).

Anyway, I'm sorry I'm fixated with this but once again it reminded me of....

I know what you mean... yes, I guess I could say the same... Not interested in random people but ones I care about or have some sort of connection. I also prefer things like movies with a plot, instead of porn movies about crap. That's why I mentioned My Private Idaho and Velvet Goldmine. It seems it is a female thing to need the "love story" behind, even if its gay people, I still need to know they are not some random dudes I know nothing about.

Another one I used to watch many moons ago was this UK series "Queer As Folk". It was funny. And that's the kind of gay men that I usually despise but I was into the plot, I don't know. I'm weird

Honestly, everybody's talking about Axl's androgyny all the time, but I'm gonna forever pine after that Slash's look from their glam era, when he wore those fucking fishnets and hadn't gotten his hat yet, even though he doesn't seem to enjoy reminiscing about that:smiley-confused2:

@Blackstar thank you for taking the time!

I have some of those but I'm in doubt because in those pics you posted he's wearing a light blue bandana and the picture I posted, with the bass, his bandana is pink or red

And I'm actually looking for this picture, which seems to be from the same concert, but his bandana is pink/red too...

Yeah but Slash is not an androgynous guy. He wore that stuff mostly forced by the fashion of the time: glam rock. He never seemed comfortable wearing those things, unlike Axl.

Slash is a manly man and his facial features are rough, compared to Axl.

Androgynous look is not for everyone. You can force it but if you don't have that natural component in your physical appearance and the way you act about it, then it is a disaster

Not really, but there's one interview from the UYI tour period, where he comments on the presence of some of their photos in Robert John's book where they were glammed up. And he's basically talking about how someone might think this is how they went around looking back then but, in fact, it was only a one-time occurence. And he's always seemed to make a case for separating their looks from the rest of the glam scene when talking about it, as though they weren't really following those trends. So there's that.

But how was it a one-off thing if there are pics where they're wearing make-up at shows? I think he simply didn't enjoy the whole thing. Too bad for me :D
