Kara
So cool to see Duff supporting Axl on this thing! I know he and Slash went to one of the shows in Europe too. It is pretty "radical"! Keep on killing it Axl! I love when haters are proven wrong

He's a long time friend of Angus and I know Robin Zander wanted the gig. I'm gonna go with "no" - he left about 3 songs in

Popular Post fabrph5
1st time seeing AC/DC. I have to admit, I am a HUGE gnr fan. I was really excited to see this show. I wanted to hear Axl sing different songs. I thought he did a GREAT job, he was definetly the right choice for a few reasons. My biggest surprise was how professional he was. It was never about Axl rose. He knew his role, he is a huge front man, who was fronting somebody elses huge band. he stayed in the background during most solos, and let the ac/dc members be the lead. he did a REALLY GREAT JOB!
Popular Post Powerage5
It was so incredible. I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said by others at other gigs. First things first, yeah - Axl sounded amazing. That said, and I'm totally nitpicking here since he sounded better than either NITL show I saw, but there were a couple songs which I thought he was a bit yelp-y on - particularly Hells Bells and FTATR. But A+ for effort on both of those still. I hadn't watched many videos of the US leg so far so that everything would be relatively fresh when I saw my first gig, but I think a lot of songs sounded significantly better than in Europe. We all thought Dirty Deeds was one of his weaker songs in Europe, but I thought it was great last night. Axl killed it on Shoot To Thrill and Thunderstruck, which were both highlights of the gig. I feel so bad for people that refuse to accept Axl in AC/DC, they have no idea what they're missing. As for everything beyond Axl - the band is as good as ever. I said it watching videos of the European gigs, but it was still evident seeing the show in person last night that the whole band feels rejuvenated. Don't get me wrong, the shows last year were awesome, but the band sounded a little...stagnant. All of a sudden everyone is playing with purpose again, like they have something to prove. It's amazing that the rest of the band has so much energy to me, considering the shows are running about 45 minutes longer than your typical AC/DC show before Axl joined. Last night, @highvoltage asked me after the show how it compared to other AC/DC shows I've seen. Here's the thing - I don't really feel like I can compare it. I love Brian, and if it was anybody except Axl fronting the band now, I probably wouldn't have gone to any gigs. But you can't really compare these shows to AC/DC even last year, everything feels different. That's not to say it doesn't feel like AC/DC - it most definitely does - but it's apples and oranges, two totally different beasts that are incredible for different reasons. For me, as a diehard AC/DC fan, it was great to have so many rarities in the setlist. Out of 24 songs, there were 7 songs I'd never seen live before - most of which I'd have never expected to see before this tour. Roll on Friday! Can't wait for round 2!
GoBucky
Great review! I've seen AC/DC 11 times since the Razors Edge tour, and the only time I left underwhelmed was the Feb show in Chicago, which I believe ended up being Brian's third to last show. He was really bad, and the band just plodded along. I'll go anywhere to see Axl, but this is special! I can't wait for the show on Friday!

Stiff Competition
Anyone who was here or at Columbus, does the Ohio event shirt have the updated or old dates on it? It was sold out after the show in Columbus so I just ordered it online but the jpeg shows the old dates. Was curious if they updated or not.... They have both the old shirt and the new shirt on their store, at least last I looked. The he one thing that really bummed me out is none of the tour shirts had the tescheduled dates, they were all the original dates

The one you posted on the first page of the thread has the September dates. Strange... I didn't even think to check that when I ordered it. Hopefully I don't get a shirt in the mail with March dates. livingthroughleaks
I was at the show--all around amazing. First time seeing AC/DC. Angus is ageless, and Axl sounded as good as I've ever heard him. Seen him in '02, '06, this summer, and last night. He was on fire. Anyone know where I can find some videos of last night's performance? My buddies don't seem to believe me that Axl sounded so good.

StoneTempleRoses
Show was awesome and some guy selling bootleg shirts outside had the best ones in the whole venue. I can't post a pick right now but it was only $20 and has the front print that's exactly the same as another tour shirt they were selling at the merch stand and the back has a picture of Axl and Angus along with the proper dates and tour names and shit. It's amazing. I also bought the yellow ACDC hat with the gold ACDC's under the bill and rock or bust on the side as well as an official t so everybody wins.
