That makes me sad.  I was telling my friend I would give anything to be up there.  Its a shame some of their biggest fans don't have the bigger bank accounts. Even fans I talk to who consider themselves super fans I am shocked at how little they know about the band..   Made me realize I am a total GNR super geek compared to others

It is great to party and have fun, but I never understood why you would want to get so messed up you can't even remember the show... I mean isn't that the reason you are there for the band the music.  If I wanted to get so wasted I would just stay home and puke on myself not invest hundreds and then ruin my time and everyone else's. I agree though best show on the tour I have seen musically and that setlist!  any songs I wanted to hear last year they didn't play they played..

I try not to focus on the a holes but the good people I meet and there are always those good people.  like the two brothers  I saw embracing in philly the one crying because he was so overjoyed to see GNR for the first time... these fans are my people not the jerks who decided to act like a 17 year old at a keg party,,

All true. I want to focus in, not miss a second and hear everything, I take music maybe too seriously, lol! I did splurge on the tix. I wanted to do pitt but dealing with injuries so it was the better way to go.  Wish you had a seat up front but hey, you were spared the urine/puke fest so it worked out well. I'm glad I got to hear used to love her . My Michelle is more regular now which I love. I'm waiting for that alternate perfect crime, I keep watching the live YouTube recordings for it. Locomotive and Thr Garden would be awesome to add in. All the songs are 10s , they can randomly pick out of slash's hat and it will always be a good set list

I will say that while I was happy to have floor seats, in my case, for any further stadium shows, I'd rather be elevated so that I could actually see the stage. The view from section L of the stage wasn't great (and I'm a short dude, so that doesn't help), so while I still had a great time, I did feel a little disconnected from the show in that regard - it bummed me out a little. But that's just how it goes for shows of this size, unfortunately. I can't afford the super close seats, so it is what it is. Hopefully I'll be able to get some decent seats to go see them in Philly in October. At least in an arena, it's possible to have a good seat from pretty much anywhere.

To add a little more about Axl's voice, I did notice a lot of rasp on RQ and other sounds that he tends to sing a bit cleaner these days. Everyone around me seemed super impressed by his vocals all night.

Insane show. Axl sounded incredible. The band was tight and sounded so good. Axl's interaction with the crowd was fun. We were on the rail and I can say that the pits were more crowded and crazier than St Louis. Security did a great job down there. We had 3 guys over the course of the show that fell out. Security was able to haul them over the barrier and get them medical attention asap. Girl to the left of us decided that instead of missing Live, she'd just piss all over herself and a few folks around her. She wasn't drunk...just didn't want to leave. Security got her out, too.

It wasn't a bad time , it was just very different than the other shows. The band was great but the ushers and security were constantly complaining and blocking the view, I had inside isle seats. The vommiting and urinating were disruptive, lol! I talked to a guy outside the hotel last night and he said someone died . That he fell over and wasn't moving and security carried him right in front of the stage and hardly anyone noticed . Maybe he passed out but the guy telling the story said he was certain he died, I hope not. I saw a lady being taken out in a wheelchair but she was wasted and puking on herself. A lady took her pants down and urinated. Another lady hit random people on the head for no reason. Someone else mentioned the crowd was not that into it and I have to agree, they were shoving to leave and yelling to go before the encore so I had a stream of people pushing past who wanted to get out of there so it was hard to watch when people are in your face . Entire isles were pouring out before the bow and yes, I wanted to stay until the end. I tried my best to ignore it all and focus on the band. Always glad to see GnR and will go again for sure.

I do agree that the venue had some issues...the lines were terrible.  It almost seemed like the staff wasn't prepared for a concert this size.  Some friends of mine walked right in with their tickets and nobody ever even checked the tickets or scanned them.  I'd imagine quite a few people may have got in without paying.

WTF?  Some of the people at this show are making vintage Guns guys living in Gardner St conditions look exceptionally well mannered in comparison. Jeez.  And hey, at least the model in the sleaze museum piece was pretending to piss in a sink.  Sounds like you needed a sink or two at the show!

@Black Sabbath Awesome shots mate.

Just got back to NYC from last nights show. I've seen them three times on this tour and I thought Axl sounded the best on this one. He doesn't talk much but I found his facial expressions to be great and he seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself as did the rest of the band. During his piano parts on NR the guy looked like a kid on Christmas morning. Good stuff.

For me the songs I hadn't heard previously, mainly UTLH, my Michelle, and Rosie were my favorite parts but the band was solid throughout.

I love Slash but it did seem like the multiple guitar solos (as well as Coma) seemed to suck the life out of the people around me.

The venue on the other hand was a dump and the workers while friendly seemed overwhelmed. The concourse around the outside was overcrowded, beer lines were insanely long to the point I just gave up, and getting out was a pain. None of that really detracted from the show for me but I doubt I'd go back to that stadium.

All in all I'd say it was one of my three favorite concerts of all time.

Honest question...how do y'all save up to be in the pit or down front? I could save for months and still not afford that for one show nevermind multiple shows! After rent and my various bills, there's just not much money left over to live on, nevermind drop $300 for a concert ticket!

I used my savings to get a real close floor seat...I don't think I can spend that much $ again because I need to save again. :) My seat last year in SF was kinda far so I was like at least once I gotta be close!

It's my goal, but with my financial situation (and this is with a full time job!), I just can't justify it when I have bills to pay. Maybe I'll win the lottery before October! After rent, cable, phone, electric, I'm lucky to have money for groceries and necessities! I even had to pass on buying a shirt last night since I couldn't really financially justify it!

Ha!  Did a guy get escorted out from your row for almost passing out?  You would have been in row 32 I guess.  And there was a pretty cool dude and his daughters I guess in the row between us.  If so, then yeah that was you guys haha.  Nice to meet you both.

Haha yeah man that was us. Great time! We were saying the same thing, like at least those 2 guys know what's up

Was she wearing a skirt or did she drop her pants and squat in the pit?

Gross either way!

I'm so happy I plugged the trigger on going to this show. I haven't really actively followed this band since...probably 2011 or so, when I finally got burnt out on the Chinese Democracy era completely stalling out and the band becoming a Vegas act. But with the rumors going around that it might be the "last" tour, and the fact that it was fairly close by...I had to.

Fucking great decision. Despite not really listening to or following them for years, it's amazing how quick it all comes back. I still know every word, every riff, every fill...and even better, everything ended up being a surprise for me. So every time a song like Coma or Estranged or DTJ started, I lost my mind because after years of following the CD line up, I never dreamed I'd get to hear these songs played live, and by most of the original line up. And as an old CD era fan, it makes me feel really fucking good that at least a few of those songs still get some representation in the set...especially Better, since I always thought it and TWAT were the best CD songs. I don't know if that's just Axl's directive that they play them, or if the original guys just think those songs are worth playing, but I really hope it's the latter.

Axl sounded about how I expected...sorta Mickey-ish, occasional rasp, but still pretty much on-key. You can tell he's definitely never gonna have even that '06 or '10 sound back, but he does what he can and sounds pretty solid most of the time. Slash and Duff are so fucking tight, on the other hand. They have such distinct playing sounds and I realized that I was sort of tricking myself into thinking they weren't missing from the live sound back in the CD days. It's so much easier to sit through a Slash solo in between songs, too, haha. And I'm happy to see Fortus holding his own with these guys, he's really stepped up and he's a really great fit in this line up (and I was pretty shocked to see him doing the sweep picking bits on Better). I didn't really notice Melissa's prescence much outside of the occasional background vocals, but she has a really good voice and adds a nice element when she does shine through the mix. And Frank's been getting a lot of shit, but IMO, I thought he was competent...a little heavy handed at times, but whatever, I never exactly thought Sorum or Adler were the golden standard of drummers either and he can play the songs.

But all in all...I definitely got my money's worth from these guys. I never thought I'd be getting a three hour show and I enjoyed every minute of it (outside of the drunks that came and shoved their way into my seat halfway through the show and left three songs later). It's a dream come true to see this line up, and 14 year old me is probably flipping out somewhere inside me, lol.

Alas, I am now the last of the CD-era fans who has not accepted the reunion :P .

I think I've accepted it because I stopped expecting the CD line up to ever do...anything, really. I had such high hopes for them to release more music and go in different sonic directions and it just never came to be for a number of reasons. And at 55, I don't think I can expect Axl to suddenly have that fire lit under him again, either. They were basically a nostalgia band by the time they were doing the Vegas residencies anyway, so they might as well have a couple of original members with em if that's the route they're gonna go. It's a shame Axl couldn't do more with the CD line up, but it is what it is, haha.
