Yeah, at worst I thought, well he's 50, maybe all the drinking and drugs or whatever he's done over the years just finally took their tole, like a heart attack or something. Fuck, I just thought about it, I won't be able to listen to Pretty Noose the same way again.
dontdamnmeuyi2015
I hate all the speculation and theories of why he died? His wife keeps telling the press about his last words, but you can go nuts trying to figure out what Chris was feeling at that moment. I know it's tragic and his wife and kids have to be so upset and I know how angry she has to feel too. It's all the grieving process. I always get angry first when someone dies. it's such a great lose you just get so frustrated and like I said I get mad. We may never know why Chris died and it'll always way on people's minds especially whenever someone dies suddenly like he did. Such a shame. The night was already emotional as it was, then they played Chris' version of Nothing Compares 2 U over the PA after the show and I just wept
James Bond
From a couple of days ago but I only just got around to checking the Bond related Twitter accounts. His story in the last tweet is just heartbreaking - he says he literally sent Chris an email the night before to ask him if he'd come sing You Know My Name at his Casino Royale live performance. Obviously he never heard back. Seriously, this just sucks. However, it's amazing to see musicians of all genres and eras paying their respects. It shows just how special he was.

Estranged Reality
Does anyone have any good boots/soundboard recordings of Temple of the Dog's 2016 tour? Some of their performances were absolutely amazing. Madison Square Garden rendition of River of Deceit is beautiful. Still stunned that he's gone. Unbelievable.
AxlRoseCDII
As happy as Chris seemed and as content he was a full family who loved him- remember that Mental Illness is truly a sickening disease that never goes away. I'm under the impression that while he was truly happy, the drugs he took that night messed with his brain to the point it trigger his mental illness to act up again to the point he committed suicide. As someone who suffers from various mental illnesses, you have to be aware of this kind of stuff.
king2vo
It's still so hard to believe it. I never imagined this could happen to him. One thing really bothers me when I read about this whole Ativan thing. Surely he had taken some before the show? It would have been normal to take something before going onstage. Some people pointed he didn't look like himself. Then this security guy just shows up and gives him some more! Like they're sweets or something. That's the part I am struggling to accept. How is it possible that someone who is not a nurse/GP can show up and hand you medication, and a dangerous one at that without checking that it's ok for you to have it? As a healthcare professional, I find it extremely disturbing. I am sorry for his wife and family, such a tragedy. Fell on Black Days (with the top grunge guys) RIP Chris, Layne and Kurt.

I understand Chris' wife asked him to bring those to him... But that still doesn't make it right. He should not have been given this stuff if he had already taken some and was showing signs of not being well. If she really did ask she must feel absolutely awful about it. I wouldn't be surprised if he got sued at some point. Edited May 22, 2017 by king2vo correction
superdave
TMZ is reporting Chris had "fresh track marks" on his arm. I'm not sure if I believe this. Seems kind of far fetched. But maybe I'm in denial. http://www.tmz.com/2017/05/25/chris-cornell-fresh-track-marks-arm-suicide/

triad
There was an Ultimate Jam Tribute to him. From the article: "In response to the tragic passing of Chris Cornell, Ultimate Jam Night, the long-running show in residency at Hollywood's Whisky A Go Go held a special tribute in his honor on Tuesday, May 23. The event was free of charge and was broadcast worldwide on Zinna.TV. A long list of performers — including SOUL ASYLUM's Dave Pirner — performed with Doug Pinnick of KING'S X, as well as the entire band LIVING COLOUR, BUDDERSIDE's Patrick Stone, Stevie D. from BUCKCHERRY, Debby Holiday and forty other known artists."* "Video footage of some of the performances can be seen below."
