Loot Man
To me it was Reckless Life from "Lies" back in 1989. I was 10 years old and one badass kid from neighborhood gave me Lies-album. He told: "You should forget those Bon Jovi-pussies, these guys are tough." And was he fucking right! rocknroll41
For me it was Jungle. I was 9 years old. As soon as I heard the opening riff, I knew I was in for something special.

F*ck Fear
When I was a youngin in the early 90's I first heard Paradise City and I've been hooked since.
El Guapo
I think it was Shadow of your love! The song was on a Vinyl Sampler album called "Time to Rock", I can remember some other bands were Raven, Faster Pussycar, Mötley Crüe, Loudness and Manowar. It was not the "usual" version of SOYL. That was around the time Afd came out, I was hooked. The sampler did it's job.

Lio
I was thinking it must've been Paradise City. As far as I remembered, it was their first hit here. I remember Patience after that. I looked it up, as I have often had discussions about SCOM, which for many was the biggest GNR hit, while I didn't remember hearing it before I actually had AFD, or saw the clip on MTV a few years later. Turns out my memory didn't fail me. SCOM only reached number 36 in the hit parade, for one week. And that was after PC. It's really sad that some stupid Belgian dance formation managed to score a far bigger hit with it in 2013 Spoiler: all GNR hits in Belgium (Flanders). In my memory, DC and NR were much bigger Spoiler
Derick
It was 1988 and I heard SCOM constantly on the radio, I had liked the song but I didn’t pay attention to which band it was(actually, I didn’t care at that time). So in 1989 Patience was the soundtrack to a soap opera that my mother watched and I always liked to hear it, but I didn’t know who played it either. Then in late 1989 my cousin brought me a mix tape with songs from AFD and Lies .. From that moment I got my ticket to this fkn jungle! P.D.: My first contact w the band was in 1988 and in late 1989 I became a fan but a hard-core one only after I attended my first GNR show in Rock in Rio 2 (1991).
