Shouldn't we be accustomed to frustrated users and negative opinions by now? Would you prefer people to not express themselves here after a big live broadcasted event like Rock in Rio? Keep in mind all these people are fine in their personal lives. They are just using a GNR message board to express what they are feeling about GNR. Don't think censoring people is the way to go. I agree, just like I want them to be able to express their venting I want to be able to point out how over the top some of it appears. But that era kinda faded away to nowhere (like every other GN'R era) and we got the DJ Ashba years. nice said, this band going nowhere since 1993. StrangerInThisTown
If Axl is not made aware of how his vocal performance was received on this, Team Brazil can go suck a big one. Yes men are a big part of this problem. Maybe no one has the heart to tell him. Just watched GNR and Aerosmith and it was very underwhelming instead of a triumphant return. Performances like Yesterdays and YCBM are not just not good but unlistenable. I would never show something like that to anyone who's not a GNR fan in fear of getting laughed at. I'm not angry about this, but just very sad that my favourite band delivered something on that level. Aerosmith started 1973 and put on a much better show making this all the more sad. But I get the feeling Axl walked off that stage with no one telling him anything was wrong. So it never ends. And based on Axl sounding the way he does , I made no effort to go . Here is hoping for a break and a new album . Your loss cause that show in San Antonio was fucking amazing and I am not just saying that cause they got glowing reviews too. Go read it...it's in the show thread. Axl sounded great and the show was nonstop full of energy! The encore was extended even cause they were not ready to end the show. Axl told the audience to tell our parents we were with our friend Axl lol. 😀
k12
saw some videos on youtube, anyone who was there can verify that Axl and the band did not sound good? I know I have been to concerts and I hear how bad the singers voice is on a youtube clip, while at the concert I am not noticing anything and the band and the singer is fine regardless, I am sure this "reunion" has gone on to long, but they are interested in milking it for every dollar they are able to and now that they have sold all the tickets they have sold I am sure they are not interested in how the performance is "edit" god, saw some more videos, just cringe worthy, I am really hoping it is just a bad video feed and at the concert you are not even noticing, as I know is very often the case Edited September 26, 2017 by k12

L8AXL
Is it not bad management? Bad planning? There is no way Axl should be anywhere near a pro shot after a 2 week break. It was not a great idea for the band either. They should have rehearsed the whole set for 2 days prior to get the groove going and "warm up" Axl's voice or played a show couple of nights before. I do believe Axl has vocal exercises etc but that doesn't make him "match fit". once again big opportunity to secure the G n R legacy is missed. comboguns
I think is time to gnr change some things if they want to broadcast on TV their shows. I know they will not play new songs, or change the setlist, but They could play less covers, a short setlist, and Axl use his low voice to sing 4 or 5 songs like SCOM, YCBM, paradise city , wttj. I know SCOM will not be the same with axl singing using his low voice, but it is better than his mickey voice.

ironmt
It Is kind of a shame that Axl gets slammed the way he does, although he deserves some criticism because he does sound like his nuts are caught In a vice. He really Isn't any worse than other artists from his era Including Bon Jovi and Joe Elliot who I thought were both deplorable at Rock In Rio. I guess we are coming to an end of an era and It Isn't easy to accept. I would rather Axl stick with AC/DC rather than continue sounding the way he does with Guns.

I've done it myself. I once talked myself into believing a certain Metallica album was ''alright''.
