Powerage5
I've been so excited for this movie for years, ever since it was first discussed as being a possibility. I had no idea there was a trailer out for it already.
Jabberwocky
I NEED to see this. I love The Room on it's own but I want to see what happened behind the scenes. Just hoping my lame ass movie theater will screen it.
Sosso
I thought that it would be another anti-Axl thread for a second 2
maynard
Tommy is awesome. The Room is awesome. I have to say I like how Franco apparently didn't try to do a perfect impression of Tommy but just nuances of his weirdness. Let's see how it sounds in the rest of the movie. More excited about this than loads of other movies.

More excited about this than loads of other movies. It didn't sound very Tommy-ish at all until he got the actual take at the end of the trailer. I agree it's good to not try and do a perfect Tommy impression, because he's so...erratic in the way he speaks, an impression would come off more as a mockery. 7 hours ago, Len Cnut said: Who the fuck is that long haired Herman Munster lookin' motherfucker? James Franco, playing Tommy Wiseau - the star, writer, director, and producer of The Room. This film, The Disaster Artist, is based on a book by the same name written about the making of The Room by Greg Sestero, the co-star of The Room. Powerage5
Another trailer: I'm reading the book right now, about halfway through. Everything about this looks so perfect so far. 1
Powerage5
Saw it last night. It's honestly one of the most enjoyable films I've ever seen. James Franco is at his absolute peak - he was born to play Tommy Wiseau. The film is fairly accurate to the book, though it does take a few small liberties most likely in the interest of run time (The biggest being glossing over some of Greg's life between meeting Tommy and starting work on The Room). The rest of the cast is phenomenal as well, and the cameos never feel too on the nose. There's a montage at the end where they compare the original film side-by-side to the scenes they recreated for The Disaster Artist, and it's truly amazing how close they got to the original film. Highly, highly recommended whether or not you know and love The Room.

rocknroll41
Just saw this movie. It was beautiful! One of the best movies I've ever seen, period! you don't even need to have seen the room to get emotionally invested in this movie. I went with 3 people who hadn't seen the room and they loved it too!
appetite4illusions
It was splendid, and this is coming from someone who is only familiar with the broad strokes of The Room. I thought James Franco really acted his ass off. He made Tommy more than an SNL spoof, at times he really did wear the guy's skin. I would recommend it to just about everyone.
ZoSoRose
I really liked it. James Franco rocked
Gordon Comstock
Downloaded the dvd screener, gonna watch it tonight Might watch The Room pretty soon while making lunch too. I don't think I've ever actually seen the whole thing, at least not straight through.
marlingrl03
Haven't seen this yet but plan on it since I have always liked James Franco. And speaking of....congrats to him for winning the golden globe for this role!
F*ck Fear
I had no idea about either movie until this thread so I watched The Room. I had tears in my eyes! The best laugh I had in a long time. The Disaster Artist was great too. Franco does a great job as Tommy. And it was cool to see how it all came about.
Black Sabbath
4/5 for me. I certainly enjoyed it. Will definitely be watching it again when the blu ray comes out.
