Powerage5
I thought we had a thread for the Han Solo movie already, but I can't seem to find it. Anyways, the title was officially announced today! http://www.starwars.com/news/official-name-for-the-untitled-han-solo-film-revealed Release date is still slated for May 25, so hopefully we get a trailer before too long. Maybe attached to The Last Jedi?
Black Sabbath
I'm sorry, but this seems incredibly cheesy to me. I'm disappointed Woody Harrelson is even involved.
DieselDaisy
Awful. Only one man can play Han Solo and that man's name is Harrison Ford, and besides, one of the character's assets is his lack of a backstory, the fact he is this shadowy smuggler.
rocknroll41
My gut instinct tells me this will be delayed to December 2018.

maynard
Regardless of this being a Han Solo film, I'm pretty sure a woman and a black dude will be the heroes of the story. 1

Principal photography is done - I'd say it's pretty likely this one stays on track for a May release.

I don't know much about filmmaking, but doesn't editing usually take a long ass time?
James Bond
Solo. About sums up my thoughts on this being a thing. So low. 1
Georgy Zhukov
They already ruined Solo by killing him like a bitch. Now they give him some shitty backstory.
DieselDaisy
Star Wars is standing on the precipice. I can envision it being completely buggered through constantly diminishing sequels and spin offs. We've seen this with so many American films from that (New Hollywood) era - Jaws, Terminator, Alien - that were all buggered up the arse, Indiana Jones just entering that course with his fourth outing. Star Wars managed to avoid that until the Disney takeover because of the holistic nature of Lucas's 'envisioned' sextology, and the simple fact that Lucas works 'Axl Rose hours'. I think there is only Back to the Future left! (don't tell them!!). Edited October 19, 2017 by DieselDaisy

By all accounts The Last Jedi is going to be great. The idea of doing a Han Solo movie is a joke that they even chose to do it and nobody wanted it but by the time that comes out there's a very real chance the franchise is 3/3 in quality films in the post prequel era. So maybe the Solo movie will be good. How about we stop bitching like a bunch of assholes over movies that haven't even come out yet. The Obi-Wan movie has potential to be awesome and there's still Episode 9. So maybe pump the breaks on the overly cynical pessimism.

Powerage5
I'm cautiously mildly optimistic for this one, mostly because I like the idea that this one will be more akin to a spaghetti Western in the Star Wars universe, like Rogue One was more of a war film. Sosso
They couldn't afford to put three more letters in the film title? Edited October 19, 2017 by Sosso
James Bond
I thought Rogue One was shite. It definitely didn't feel like a war movie to me. Watered down Star Wars with less than satisfactory characters.

appetite4illusions
You gotta have faith in Opie. He's such a dynamic director. There aren't too many movies where I can point and say "he fucked up."
Black Sabbath
Rogue One was the best, most forgettable movie I've ever seen.

Not great, but well. My "the plot thickens" comment was just to point out how both SW fans and GNR fans tend to complain a lot.
