I watched the whole show earlier this morrning and here's my first impressions: I've heard the audience recording of this show a bunch of times before but hearing it as a soundboard is just amazing, the sound quality is great as well! Stevens massive drum sound is way more noticeable on this soundboard than on the old audience recording, and I actually enjoy it quite a lot! You're Crazy and Reckless Life both sounds and looks amazing, Don't Cry is nice to both see and have but up until the second chorus I think it sounds a bit sloppy but after that it is just amazing! I actually enjoy the shitty 80's effects although the "frame rate drop effect is quite annoying at times. It's a shame that Axl, Slash and Steven are the only ones with spot lights on them, this sadly leads to Duff and Izzy being almost ignored by the camera. I always get goosebumps when KOHD is dedicated to Todd Crew for some reason, this is not an exception. I LOVE when Axl takes the fans jacket in the end! I really miss Slash talking on the NITL Tour like he did in the old days. Overall it's great to finally have this show, it's a shame that the first four and a half songs are missing from the tape but I can't complain about that when we've gotten an hour of amazing footage from the show! I can definitely see my self watching this show a couple of more times this week. I must add that RQ sounded amazing without the neverending solo they are doing now. Why can't they play it like this? 4

Euchre
That is awesome ! They were the days - great to see the faster tunes like You're Crazy and Reckless Life. The band is ferocious - they come on beat the audience into submission and leave. Prefer this onslaught to 3 hours of covers, jams & ballads any day !
RussTCB
Definitely need to watch some of this later today. Hopefully more things like this start to see the light of day.

So next question - WHAT DID HE GET ? Unreleased Chinese Democracy tracks/sessions (we know there's quite a few out there) Another unreleased Pro shot from the time or UYI era? SBD or unreleased tracks / demos from those times? Thoughts? Perhaps the elusive 2002 VMA Rehearsals? I know they're probably boring and garbage, but I would love to see them still Edited October 24, 2017 by WAR41 sdf

Popular Post GNRfanMILO
I contacted the owner of the show on Facebook, and here is his answer. Unfortunately, we won’t be getting any new gems “I didn’t get anything for it. A few false leads, some timewasters and people looking to flat out purchase it. As much as I coulda used the money I was offered, I declined all offers to purchase it. Myself and gnrontour/jm78 just decided to wait and see and if nothing fell into our laps we were gonna drop it on the 30th anniversary. And since nothing came up, we released it. I suppose I’ll need to stop by mygnr for my yearly visit and see the responses to the video.” 3

On the "teaser" video, people were begging him, seems like he sat on this for years. Maybe he did sell it and release it, who knows really

Pishy
@gnr5 Glad most of it was made available. The story though is far from believable. A garage sale? Ok. How much money he ended up selling it for, only he will know. But the first 4.5 songs were cut because he sold the full length to someone so it keeps the "value" for the buyer, buyer has all of it. Once he sold it, which wasn't yesterday, he "released it all". some of the comments on the YouTube "teaser" are spot on, that's all I can say. Maybe he did sell it and release it, who knows really Well. Guess my yearly visit comes today. 😈✌️ Let’s see. Where to start. The first four and a half songs are not on the tape. Whatcha see is whatcha get. The backstory; I bought a lot of promo VHS tapes on eBay, two maybe three years ago now. I just assumed the Ritz tape in the lot was the ‘88 show. It sat around my house for a year, year and a half, something like that before I decided to hook up the VCR and watch it. When it came on through that part of Jungle I knew instantly what I had just purchased was a diamond. I did a shitty and quick transfer to digitalize the tape and then created the Teaser I posted on youtube. I was contacted by gnrontour, and he expressed interest in doing the transfer. Being a huge fan of the jm78/gnrontour Bootleg releases and what he has done for the Bootleg community over the years, I was immediately on board and willing to send the tape out to him for transferring. We decided to release it on the 30th Anniversary of the show, simply because of the anniversary. That is partly why I/we sat on it. The other reason was to garner interest from other traders... I didn’t get anything for the show, no ChiDemos, no VMA Rehearsals, nothing like that at all. Only stating this because I see inquiring minds wondering in this thread. 1 minute ago, Pishy said: @gnr5 Glad most of it was made available. The story though is far from believable. A garage sale? Pishy
Hahaha! So hilarious anyways, on youtube there were a lot of comments that you put out "teaset" clips for Move to the City and It's so easy , from the same show. Also, when people offered trades and money, apparently they were under the impression it came with the other 4.5 songs . Maybe it was made up.

We are never going to hear You're Crazy or Reckless Life again so I think it made a ton of people happy. It doesn't detract from the release one bit. I was just very curious how the tape got out to begin with because GnR wouldn't release anything, for reasons we all know. The timing is good for more than one reason . It's also kind of funny how things work. All the lies and dismissals regarding Izzy and Adler are laid bare.
