Yeah, I can really see why youd be so into it! I would be too! I love the idea of you being its caretaker, waking it up and putting git to bed.

Man, your side project! *ripping out hair emoji*

Oh, are Latana and Rosemary relatives? They get the same pests and need to the same amount of time to get to size?

Ahahahahahaha!! That mowers been through it all, except the creek!!

I did a complete cleaning and switch out of the kitty litter, thanks again.

I don't know if they are relatives.  Both woodies so some where they have to connect up.  Kevin's more a danger to those mowers than I am.   There's a couple people up at the gardens now and I should be up there, in on it but I'm staying away.  They need to make up their minds on what they are doing, then I'll get on board.  Tried of you people, get your shit together.

I'm switching to my library for my winter activities.  Signed up for a class on Owls and one on Glass Buttons from Germany.  They have music night once per month I like to hit up.  Also reserved that book on tree language.  Didn't see any of our classes scheduled yet. Look and see if you get something from your library called Kanopy that has videos on all kinds of stuff.  I get 7 free videos per month free because I have a library card.  I watched Cats of the Ancient City, very cool.  Love the library, they have the coolest shit.

I love the library too! I attend some events there. I even had a first date there!  But theres always so much more to take advantage of and learn about!

There was a time just after I moved that I think I watched every single DVD they had, while I sorted my internet and such. Kanopy, Ill look into that, thanks!

I did have one negative experience at a library once. I was renewing my card and the librarian could see my recent borrows on screen. They were "introduction to Canadian fiction" by George Woodcock, a book on bush-crafting, woodworking, and a 4th book on water purification. The person actually like 'sounded the alarm' and had a superior come and read the list. They whispered fervently and drew in others. You see, George Woodcock is an anarchist. So these goons got in a tizzy that the sum of my books demonstrated that I was about to start a rebel base in the mountains or something :lol::lol: It was his book on Canadian novels for crying out loud!! They eventually decided that even rebel scum like me would be rewarded a renewed card. Sigh. LOL! And I mean; these are all 'their' books that they lend.  Pretty sure they were breaking some laws too? Anyways... People :shrugs::lol:

That Owl course sounds great! I hope to join the local birding group next summer. I got to see an owl right out my window last year - what majestic creatures they are!

Yeah, they are books you're getting from the library!

I just have to stop trying to get this through.  Called the side project and suggested we put down the mulch tomorrow so we can plant next week.  She has a few hours in the AM.  But no she wants to clean out a bed and move some wood first!  Yeah, you don't need me for that and that can wait but now I'm locked into that and I bet we never get to getting the spot ready to plant.

Holy shit, the car says electronic brake system needs service but I barely had any brakes.  Fortunately I wasn't that far from the shop.  I had to pump on the brakes to get them to fully stop the car but that was after I slowly rolled up to the stop lights.  So I cancelled on my side project and wouldn't you know it, she had planned to do water aerobic also in the morning or more like mid-morning.  I just want to be done with that and never go back.

My daughter brought my ankle bracelet back from Jamaica.  It's the rastafarian one: black for the people, yellow for the sunshine and green for pot.  WTF, I've never been to Jamaica.  It's been 40 years.  No thank you, "no, no, no, I don't smoke it no more".

I did borrow the kid's car and went over to make the bird wreath.  It has to be refrigerated for 24 hours and then dry for 72.  I don't know about the flower clut.  Nice folks but I don't know.

That must have been a bit scary to have your brakes failing as you drive? You mean you just drove it straight to the shop?!

I think you side project has formed some sort of mental tick about that garden? I mean what is going on??

Thats a nice gift from the kid :) (I love how there is never mention of the dude ). Ive never been there either but would love to visit. I been off the skunk for maybe 2 months-ish for the most part. Feels great! 40 years, but how long since salvia?

Maybe by the time the wreath is dry and you see them again youll see them in a different light? Because as it is today, I could imagine that youd be right to be extra cautious after the outdoor classroom stuff and side project, etc!

Thought I was better, but I woke up hacking and stuffy once again. Todays the day I kick this things ass once and for all! I got a garden to over winter.

Almost straight to the shop.  I had a few other errands I needed to do so the shop was at the end of the loop, lol.  Some kind of vacuum assist part.  I'll have the car back today.

I like her guy.  I just don't know what to call him.  Fiancee doesn't seem quite right.  They're not married yet but he's already part of the family.  Yesterday we were doing her life insurance.  Starting changing everything from my name to his and planning her life to include a spouse and a future with kids.

I have mice coming in.  Lily is on it.  She caught one last night.  Rather than kill it, she wanted to play with it.  I had to take it away from her.  She's standing guard in the kitchen now.  There's one under the stove but I have all the cabinets open so she can do patrol.  I'll go get those bags of herbs mice don't like.

Do I really need another gardening group?

Thats bad ass! Breaks fail so you run some errands on the way to the shop!

That must be quite the experience to watch her name change on paper? Exciting times!

So happy you have Lily to take care of that. I never heard of those herb bags to repel mice. Thats great.

Thats the question

I just saw an older women with her walker enjoying my garden. So now Im not so bummed about it still being largely intact :)

Believe me I had my hand on the gear shifter, just wasn't looking to blow out the transmission.  Not the first time I've come in hot in a car malfunctioning.   I drive those babies until they drop.

Something I read in Mother Earth News about those herb bags.  They work pretty good.  Interesting smell in the house.

I'm cutting down some stuff today.  I've been away a few days and I miss the gardens.

Lily has caught two mice so far today and still hunting.  One I took over to the woods, don't come round here no more!  The other was dead before I noticed.  She doesn't understand I want her to take those outside so I'm chasing her all over the house.  She likes to drop it right before we get to the door and the race is on again.   This is entertainment, right?

So I'm driving behind this minivan that is full of brush except the back window is gone, lol.  I did that before with a couch.  Put down the tailgate and popped out the back window except this person popped it off.  I can see the tree branch that probably did that.  Ooops.  Car runs like a camp and the repair bill didn't run up the credit card.

The mouse repellent bag has mint, cedar and rosemary oil.  Hope that does the trick.

Lots of people hauling wood in your neighbourhood, eh? I like that. Just knock out the back window and tailgate and Bobs your uncle  Glad the car repairs werent too extreme!

All the ingredients are the oils? or its leaf mint, cedar (bark?) and rosemarry oil? That would smell good! Mint is related to cat nip so I wonder if it suggest to the mice that cats are around?

Just says cedar oil.  Lily quit checking out the kitchen so they may be gone.

I don't think Kevin put down the round up on my green path.  Nothing looked dead so I put the shit down.  Next week I should be able to plant it.

Stopped by to talk to my handyman.  He was pointing out his coleus and I told him how he could over winter it.  When he came down to check out the project I had for him I had 9 more coleus cuttings for him from my plants.   Saving as many of them as I can.

At this point, Im surprised that I havent received any coleus at my door yet!

Kevin sounds like he does nothing other then drive tractors into the creek

Thats so cool that the herb sack seems to have worked on the mice! Well that and Lily.

You'll put your green path in next week and I will be shovelling snow and harvesting iced kale. I have this day dream where the novelty of a frozen harvest attracts people who are therefore eager to help with the entire process of harvest and storage.

You're going to be known as the Kaleman after this season.

I'm so lost on what we are doing with an outdoor classroom.  I talk to the woman, Leslie, who is heading it up and she doesn't know either.  I finally called in Craig, showed him the wood and told him to make me a platform that looks like a raft.  I'm sticking with the Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn look.  Put me up some poles.  I want turquoise sails.  And out of the rest of that wood I want seating and a table.  I tell Leslie the new county engagement specialist wants to focus on kids education.  She's excited.  I'll take teens but those grade schoolers no way!

I like that movie Willow and its got the character "General Kale." I would prefer that nickname

Its gonna have sails? Too cool!! I bet the kids will love that too. You've got me wondering to myself if I'd rather teach a class to kids, teens or adults? And the answer is "No." Every age-group is kind of the worst, just for different reasons  J/K I'd go with kiddos myself just because Ive had some fun with that before. I get energized because they seem to see the wonder of it all.

Never seen that movie but I rather like that name.  You are now General Kale, the General for short in the GNR world.

You know, the shade sails people put up.  We have that creek that floods us out.  Think a raft would be pretty cool.  Ready to sail away down Dardenne Creek.

I’m the General like Tommy :headbang::lol:Although sometimes he looks like he’s not eating his greens :(

(willow is a great movie imho. Fantasy/andventure in a medieval setting. It’s cute and warm though. Amazing cinematography and sound track too!)

yeah it can double as your emergency escape in case of flooding!!! Everything goes in the creek eventually

The leaves are really just starting to turn here.  High winds today with a cold snap coming in.  You know my head hurts.  We can do side project today but I doubt I'll get the call or if I do we aren't doing much.  Doesn't look like the Roundup is doing much on the green path.  I mix it a little weaker than it says.  I'll probably end up hoeing the edges.  My canna bulbs are going to need dividing.  I looked at them the other day and I have an impressive stand of those.  Been a few years since I divided them up.  Still lots to do.  Not looking forward to the first killing frost but I need to get some shit done out there.

Am I dead?   I swear I talk and nobody hears me.  The library lady was suppose to call everybody and set up the date and time.  Instead she just sets it up and sends it to me.  I'm checking with everyone to make sure the dates are okay.  Yeah, never heard from the side project today.

I hear dead people  That sounds frustrating!

Sweet Cornbread was back to messing around with the grow space again this morning. I never noticed but he ceased all tomfoolery while I was sick. What a sweetie! Now that Im feeling mostly better, he figured its time to start fucking with me again!

You must be better if the cat thinks it's time to cease watching over you.

I'm working on seeds.  Finished off the red pole beans and hosta seeds.  I'm going to start the hosta seeds when we do the lantana next month.  Might as well have all my lights going.  I'm going to head up to the garden where it's quite today and see what I can get into.  Several projects I've been wanting to get to.

I should play sick when he's getting too crazy

Do seeds need a rest after they are dried and ready to plant? Like, if you just collected them last week, dried em out, could you plant them right away? I dont mean ones that over winter, I mean could you put them under grow lights right away?

Hope you can enjoy some quiet time at the garden.
