I think they only played it properly without Axl singing over Slash's iconic intro lead once in maybe Minneapolis.. The whistle may have actually been on queue too. That paradise was pretty damn good. I love the comradely between Axl and Duff with the hat passing lol

Not a fan of the song but he sounds better on this song than any other in the setlist. It just can't be done any better. What an excellent show of rasp. I think he makes it clear that he will turn it on and off whenever it suits him. Unfortunately quite a few songs sound horrendous because he chooses to keep it turned off.

What a good song. I can can icture young axl running the stage juste like he did at the end of patience. He'd done that right after its solo
Homefuck
Wasn't this show promoted as an event where gnr would debut new material? I'm really surprised that they played the same set as always!

Promoted by... some journalists in Russia ? ...and there was "new live" material (Slither/Shadow of your Love) ...and 3 hours+ setlist not good enough ? ....same old song and dance and discussion. But I get your point... I also want new music as in unreleased before. As long as they don't give it to us I enjoy what they do give.

Popular Post nikothebellic
THE SHOW REVIEW The band started at about 19:15-19:20 local time, what is a pretty early in a concert terms, but, however, it was just on a scheduled time at 19 PM. The set lasted till 22:40 with 32 songs. Maybe a rumored curfew at 23:00 indeed existed and the band was asked to start earlier. At the first three songs there were defenitily some issues with a microphone (as usual, hah) and Axl's voice was a bit "downfront". At the beginning of DTJ we literally couldn't hear the words. Though, in this terms WTTJ was okay and stunning in overall. The first part of the set, despite this technical difficulties, was the best with the band fully-charged and ready for action - Slash jumped all the time, Axl ran from side to side and Attitude by Duff was amazing. The second part was also really good, but just if to compare the first was superior. TIL for me is like a way of checking Axl's condition and what show to expect further. Here it was not at Houston or San Diego level, but still, better than on the most EU gigs and Mr. Rose was really in a good form most of the set. And him personally was keen to do his best and even challange himself. For example, in Civil War, probably for the first time since the first show in Vegas 2016, he used the original lyric at the third verse - ... and the wars go on with brainwashed pride". Though, the line was done poorly, but better than in Vegas. Maybe, some day he'll return it but now he'd better stay wih "as a years go by". The rest of the main set was great, however, can't stand out a particular song. Well, all on a good level (excluding vocal on SCOM, of course). Nightrain rocked. Encore was shorter than on a previous gig and consisted with four songs - Patience, Madagascar, The Seeker and PC. Madagascar was a blast and Patience was really good as well. The opening part of PC was almost failed, so it seems they did not played WLT probably because Axl just couldn't. He didn't "whoa-whoa" in the first verses and they were complete mickey. Didn't catch the main part in more details, as we went crazy, but obviously there were some struggles after all. They talked in the ear-monitors several times and at some point in the middle of the set Axl showed a "break/abort" signal, so maybe they dropped out some stuff. However, the main set was identical previous shows. Maybe, that could be something new. Well, what I like about the show is that overall it was really-really great. The band played with audience, Slash and others delivered as many solos as pissible, Axl was waving us all the time and delivered some extroodinary vocal parts, the sound was loud, the crowd was great and the atmosphere just rocked. What I did not is, basicallly all that stuff that I mentioned as well as some minor misses. And of course I was a bit upset, that Meegan said about "big show in Moscow" but at the end it was even shorter than the previous gig. Maybe, something made them to reduce the set, I don't know. The seating was full only at 60-70%, but I can't imagine that it was a real issue, as the people in front were really with the band. What issue I'd like to dicuss more closely is the set - they need to shake it. And in not the terms what they play, they can whatever they want, but to make it more balanced. As the first part consists of many high-octane songs such as YCBM, SOYL, WTTJ and of course energy driven Estranged and Civil war, at the second part you may feel really exhausted. I was almost done at November Rain and at some point didn't mind that they avoided WLR as I wouldn't handle PC this way. Yeah, for sure, every concert requeres certain physcial condition, but I, for example, did not recored anything and was with the band every song, but just couldn't do the whole set with the same passion. They have so many "light" songs as Yesterdays, WL, UTLH or even Madagascar, which is cool, but still not many give a damn to support hardly on it. Need to rotate or move it to the first part. For me there are 4 types of quality on GnR cocnerts nowadays - when it's a blast (Houston, San Diego, Coachella at some point), when it's just great (most of US tours), when they just fair (mostly EU gigs last year) and when they fucked up (Berlin, Rio). The show in Moscow was really close to the "great" level. As on usual GnR cocnert, there were gigh and low points, but overall the band did it properly. Not the best gig this year, but stays high with those that went well. But, must notice, that I was in Hamenlina last year and I can't say that this was much better than in Finland even as the whole tour in EU this year is better. Yeah, wierd assumption, buit still, last year there were some set suprises and the band was a bit fresher. Well, some songs were better than in 2017, some not. The next on my way is Tallin and then could say more clearly about my feelings on the current band form. Jordan Rose
Great vids and Axl sounds solid. We know that falsetto only sounds good because it's blasted over the PA but i'd be more than happy to hear that show. Jungle and Madagascar say he can turn the rasp on at will.
