Usenet Setup Discussion PM List In The Works

Recommended Posts

I am planning to start a PM list to discuss the many benefits of Usenet and how to get set up to start using this SECURE file sharing service.

I prefer to discuss specifics via PM, to avoid prying eyes.

If you'd like to be included, just PM me.

First informational announcement will go out on Saturday.

Here is some basic information:

An in-depth overview of Usenet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usenet

My favorite Newsreader: Newsbin (well worth the one time $20 registration fee): http://newsbin.com/

My favorite Usenet uploading software: http://www.jbinup.com/en/ or https://www.binaries4all.com/powerpost/

jbinup freeware mirror: https://www.sendspace.com/file/2eyj5s

Nice guide for beginners: https://www.binaries4all.com/beginners/

Yes, it does cost a few bucks per month to obtain Usenet access.

However, it is well worth it for what you receive in return (secure/anonymous file sharing of anything that can be digitized).

Quite frankly, if you could afford just one "Not In This Lifetime" ticket, you can easily afford Usenet access! No excuses!

It's time to say GOODBYE to our tormentors and unreliable file sharing services, forever!! :headbang:

Thank you!

Yeah your right Milan i have a payserver for many years now and usenet is a goldmine, the learning cure might be a bit steep but once u get the hang of it you wont be returning to torrents. And some payservers let u share the account so you can split the cost, i pay 3.75 euro's a month for unlimited bandwidth.

Fransad, which pay server do you use?

3.75 EUR is NOTHING for what you get in return from Usenet!

I'm so uneducated in the ways of the internet that I wouldn't end up participating but I can't tell you enough how much I applaud you guys finding a way through this bullshit!

I've uploaded a ton of GNR stuff on Usenet since 2002. Including things that can't be shared on the strict torrent sites!

Eweka

Good deal Fransad!

I spend $11.50 per month on Usenet ($7.50 for Astraweb and $4 for Newsdemon (black friday deal from 2013)).

In return, my housemate pays for our Netflix subscription which is around $14 per month.

If you could find someone to share an unlimited Usenet account with, do it!

My Usenet setup guide is ready to be shared.

I want to send it out today, so I could answer questions for the community before the next work week starts on Monday.

Keep in mind that the guide is a "Work-In-Progress".

Many useful details are shared.

Please do not be overwhelmed!

Usenet is easy to use once you past the initial setup.

Please take advantage of the Usenet setup tutorials on Youtube.

The instructional videos make the entire process easy to understand.

My text-only guide can only do so much...
