I was born in 1970 , yes I am old fucking rocker and always will be 

Since the beginning GNR had a very mean swagger , dangerous , fucked up , fuck the world and every other band attitude, Early Gnr was a gang and not a law abiding citizen band and we all loved it . in your face real rock n roll, they band was so dangerous and the fans Like my self that went to the early shows had the same swagger of fuck the world , cocky sure , back it up 4 sure , GNR was the best band on the planet and they came on stage and let u know from the opening note how good they was , the fans and the band were the same , Guns was the best and we as fans let everyone that would listen know that,   they were the best  and  would never back down to any one or any  band 

Axl Rose had so much stage presence and the bad ass vocals to back it up , One of the meanest , ballsy, most confident frontman of all time , if not the best ever, no one can bring it like AXL , his rants on stage are forever etched in my memories , the best voice I have ever heard , more on that later 

Slash - the coolest motherfucker on the Planet , the baddest guitar player of his generation , this cat can play hard rock , blues, speed metal . heavy metal , arena rock anything on a guitar he mastered it , Jimmy Page on steroids ,  when u got to see GNR for the first time , before the internet , youtube or any other social media , you got a chance to see why Axl bragged on his playing so much , Slash would break into a 10 minute jam at anytime and kill it . A friend of mine who has passed away a rocker from the crib "RIP MARTY COX" went with me  to my first gig with gnr - tickets went on sale in January - he camped out in a tent in the cold freezing snow in front of Rupp Arena so we could get floor sets on Slash 's side , Marty was the biggest ACDC FAN in the world , after Slash's solo he screamed  to me because it was so fucking loud -Slash is better than EDDIE VAN HALEN -coming from our world no matter who your favorite band was that is the biggest compliment any player could  ever get -Marty Loved Angus with a  passion that  was his way of saying how Great Slash was , as rockers we took pride in "our band" 

Duff was solid as a fucking rock , his playing  u knowing he was totally fucked up was flawless, he never gets enough credit , born to be a rock star , the heart of the band 

Izzy - fuck yes , the laid back , in the shadows , the best rythmn guitar writer ever , cool as fuck , what a lot of cats don't know as IZZY was as cocky as anyone in the band , he killed you aint the first live , his playing and his attire second to none , heroin induced , he and Slash were always  fucked up on Brownstone and liquor , IZZY was the epitome of bad ass 

 

Now for the show this was the UYI tour , I seen the boys before the album dropped 

They opened with perfect crime , I knew every new song because of Magazine articles where AXL described every song , Perfect Crime is still best opener ever IMO and  THEN BROWNSTONE , we thought to ourselves what the fuck are we seeing , as much as we loved the band , the only live videos u got back then was live from the ritz , These first 2 songs were kick ass in your face with a sound nothing like the ritz , pure magic with vocals and Guitars so mean and clear , what a tone fucking Slash had and AXL voice was good as it ever was - Fuck we are witnessing history , every song was perfect , this is the best band on the fucking planet , we all know it but they were showing us and backing it up 

 

I could go on about every song the show was over 3 hours 

3rd song in " you know where the fuck u are ? " Rupp exploded , every one in attendence and I mean everyone never sit down  during any number but on this number I felt the place  shake - i HAVE been to bunch of rowdy and loud UK BASKETBALL GAMES#BBN but nothing like this , it was spiritual , this place was slamming and on the verge of out of control , 2 weeks earlier GNR kicked ST LOUIS ASS and the riot started , we all knew this 

The first rant by AXL was before DTTJ , Axl told the crowd how they landed at bluegrass airport    in Lexington and a  police officer came to check the plane for  drugs because  the bands rep, He told AXL if Slash crossed this line outside of the plane that is was legally intoxicated in the state in Ky , AXL response was "like we give a fuck " priceless , Axl preceded to rant on about this officer naming him by name and his badge number , he told the crowd" the officer  was probably at home eating his boyfriends asshole out , fuck you u fucking fagott ;" this song is  dedicated to the Lexington police Department,  this is a song called "Double Talking Jive Motherfucker " Izzy on lead vocals and SLASH ripping a 10 minute jam , talk about being pumped up , we were through the roof , first time I heard AXL use the  term "homefucks" 

Before Knocking on Heavens Door- when Slash had started the intro with  a jam only women bleed by Cooper . AXL said stop , stop , we all thought oh fuck , what is gonna happen know but we were excited because we knew something was going down , There were 4 rich frat boys who were not rocking to AXL'S standards in the  4 th row just to our left , AXL asked the cats how much did u pay for your tickets because I know u didn't earn them , the tickets were 22 dollars face  value , he asked what they payed for them  and they said 100 dollars a piece , 'you got fucked then , I would only pay that price to see Elvis Presley " he asked the crowd for anybody that could remove this 4 fucks to remove them he would give them a lifetime ticket to any GNR gig , they fucking crowd started slamming then down like a riot , blooding the 4 fucks up , finally AXL said "hold on lets not kill them yet"he had ADAM DAY bring out 4 hundred dollars and give the cats their money back and asked them to leave , while they were being escorted out though the side door with house lights on -SLASH and the Band ripped a 10 to 15 minute blues JAM  -insane shit I was mesmerized , when Slash lead back into Knocking on  heavens door AXL told the crowd these mother fuckers wanted a backstage pass when we bought their tickets back , "we kicked  them out the back fucking door " fuck these fucking wimpy motherfuckers " during the opening lines AXL changed the lyrics "Momma take my tickets  from me  from me I cant use them anymore " 

When the gig was coming to the end , THE ENCORE -Slash jammed a little before Paradise City , he told the crowd this "this is the best crowd we have played in front of all tour , he told the light man "hit the house lights man I wanna see these fuckers " they turned all the lights on , the place  was still at a frenzy 3 hours later , "I love you Fuckers' U talk about your favorite band ever,  telling you how great u was , no way to describe that moment , He started Paradise City and the joint was insane - every song the crowd was singing the words  along  with humming the guitar riffs and solo's "fuck argentina , we are LEXINGTON KY "

GUNS ARE MORE THAN  A BAND TO ME AND MY FRIENDS THEY ARE WAY OF LIFE 

 

I have seen the NITL tour 3 times and they are still the best band ON THE PLANET

Thanks for sharing that, I love the passion you have.  I was at the riot show in St. Louis so I witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I would be lying if I said I didn't occasionally miss those more reckless times. But as Mick Jagger so eloquently said, "you can't stay young forever."
