Endless2404
I remember people saying some time ago how multiple legs of the tour (especially NA and SA) did very bad while others used to contradict it. How well did the whole tour do in general? Edited July 27, 2018 by Endless2404
Its Tino
I mean I went to a sold out show in a 10,000 Mac amphitheater otherwise I have no idea.
TheSeeker
Attendance gradually declined to the point where Axl had to do the reunion if he ever wanted to perform in a venue bigger than a theater again 1
zombux
depends on what do you consider "CD tour". officially "Chinese Democracy Tour" started at HOB 2001-01-01 and ended 2011-12-31. it was followed by Up Close and Personal Tour (2012-02-10 - 2012-07-22) and Appetite For Democracy Tour (2012-10-31 - 2014-06-07). cpt. out
themadcaplaughs
When I saw them at Philips Arena in Atlanta in 2011, the show undersold so badly that anyone who upper-level seats got rerouted to sit on the ground level seats. Officially, the staff were supposed to say there was water damage or something, but one of the bartenders let it slip that the show sold poorly. In all fairness to the band, I believe the 2011 arena tour occurred solely to settle the Azoff lawsuit, so it wasn't like the band swung for the fences and missed.

The 2011 groupon tour. 1st tour in 5 years nobody cared anymore .
bdinan
Every show I attended seemed pretty close to full. Granted, I live in NYC so that isn't a good gauge. Major markets are always gonna fare pretty well for concerts. I think they struggled with the smaller markets.
moreblack
Caught 2 shows, the first was pretty well attended, at an arena. The second time I don't recall the entire upper deck being used. Neither was anything like the stadium show I saw last year.
DieselDaisy
Newcastle Arena, 2006 sold fairly well (near sell out I think) but there were a lot of empty seats for 2012, a whole upper tier and various seats around me. zombux
Prague 2006 was quite packed, great show! Prague 2010 was also quite full, but they mostly fucked it up. after Danko Jones finished the set, nothing was happening for an hour, so people were starting to leave and demanding refund. then the announcer said that the show should begin within the next hour. when the set started, many people already left and I don't think they were interested in seeing GNR ever again. Nicklord
It sold fairly well from 2001 till 2010. In 2011-14 it started rapid decline in pretty much all areas

default_
Every show I went here in Brazil was a fully packed stadium. But we are all monkeys, what can I say? 1

IncitingChaos
By 2013 I got to see them in Lubbock Tx with less than 2,000 in attendance at an amphitheater. Great show though! CD wasn’t good enough to tour that album for 5 years haha
Gustnbones
I saw them in Venezuela 2010 (seems like a century ago lol) in a small venue that was at 70% capacity at best, they were even selling tickets half price at the gates. The band began to play at 4 AM, it was crazy. Totally opposite to Santiago 2017 , football stadium at maximun capacity.
Tourettes2400
I saw them in Nashville in 2011. There were a lot of empty seats, but it was still a good show. Even DJ Ashba had a good night. They also played Civil War for the first time since Slash was in the band.
Tom2112
It was as successful as most bands, every band was struggling to fill arenas in America. they were no different. In Europe they sold out most places. Although when they returned in 2012 sales were down in some markets
TheDemocracyRose
The European tour in 2006 had a lot of festival dates. In 2017/18(Europe) they are playing stadiums most of the times...
megaguns1982
I vaguely remember Sydney 2007 or was it 06? Heaps of people had left by the time they came on which was about 2-3 hours late.
GoBucky
The '02 and '06 shows in Chicago were sold out and the '11 Groupon'd nosebleeds and was 80% full by showtime and 50% full by Paradise City cause it was 1:15am on a work night.
Draguns
When I saw them at the old Izod Center (Meadowlands NJ) in late 2011, I'll never forget the amount of empty seats that I saw.
