What I don't understand about those behind the takedowns is that they believe they're fans of GnR and I suppose are delusional in the belief that they're helping GnR. In reality, GnR has lived and thrived since the creation of the internet. If not for the footage on YouTube I doubt there would be much of the current or future for GnR. Through unofficial GnR social media accounts GnR has remained much as they were in '88-92. No good for GnR is coming from their actions. I wish they would see that.

I think at least one of them thinks they're "helping GN'R" by trying to get any negative opinion erased. 

That half of the Delusional Duo has tried to do so through various outlets. Up to and including having their own forum that started out promising then turned to nothing because no one was interested in being censored if they didn't share the exact same opinions on everything to do with GN'R. So that "truthful outlet" dwindled down to a couple of legit users who, for whatever reason, believe the person running it is either Axl or has a connection to Axl. Outside of those few, that forum is populated by alt accounts for the Admin all of which are happy to confirm that they're definitely not the same person but the original person in question does have a connection to or might be Axl. 

The other half doesn't really care about what's good for GN'R from anything I've ever seen. They're only in this whole deal for attention, which is so sad. They got a ton of attention back in the day for pretending to be Izzy and apparently it was enough attention to spend years trying to replicate it. All they've been known for since that point is just openly trolling GN'R fans, forums and TB themselves. It seems to be someone who doesn't know the difference between good attention and bad attention, or doesn't care at the very least. I dedicate a LOT of time to the GN'R online fanbase but it's literally my spare time that I chose to spend that way because I've made so many friends through this community. So it's the definition of "labor of love" for me. I don't spend any amount of time calculating moves in an attempt to get attention from the GN'R online commuity and can't think of anything sadder than having my life amount to that lol.

For years, it's been funny to watch because it never became dangerous. As I mentioned before, they were constrained to their own little asylum where no one really cared what they were up to. Occasionally, they'd start yet another alt account here or gnfnr, cause some minor waves, get banned, everyone would laugh and we'd all move on.

However, we're on a whole different level now. These people are threatening families, attempting to remove free speech and doing all of it while claiming they're working with and for Guns N' Roses management, Team Brazil.

@RussTCB, I love this forum not really because my love for GnR. If I came here solely for GnR, I probably would have stopped within the first week. I continue to come here because of the people and friends I've made.  I know you and @downzyand all the admins have a very full life outside of this forum and I appreciate everything you do to keep this alive and well.

Yep, our pleasure! I mentioned this on @sidman69 and @Gambit83's podcasts recently but the only reason I stick around is the community. I've met SO many awesome people from literally all over the globe because of this forum. That, for me at least, outweighs all of this BS from a couple of disturbed individuals

streaming sites are easy to reach just with one click, but also extremely easy to takedown, that's why the biggest shitstorm is happening there.

on the other hand, sharing bootlegs is of course still working normally, I'd rather say much more massively than before ("Streisand effect"), just using different channels  

so in the end, from bootleggers point of view, this really is just a storm in a glass of water, caused by people who think they can "shut down the internet".

This is frightening. Though I'm sure no one will be able to delete all the stuff, the attempt is just crazy and sad. The last days I have searched for videos on YT I used to watch only to make sure that they're still there (not all of them). A couple of days ago I had a blank video (deleted) in the top of my list of liked videos, therefore I stopped liking videos. Instead I'm going to buy a new hard drive. Really tough times.

I can tell you we have never been threatened by anyone associated by the band or management.  Let me repeat, no threats. Ever.

This hasn’t gone beyond the notice of official GNR channels and representatives. To what is being done about it I can’t say (because I don’t know), but I do know that it is a serious concern.
