djones1225
This kinda off topic, but just heard a new band on the radio the other day called Dirty Honey, heard they opened for Slash this year. If anyone saw them were they good?
Gibson87
Going the Council Bluffs show on Friday and it says that the show starts at 8. What time would the gates typically open for a show at that time?

Meegan posted yeehaw earlier, then went to Gibson, Hattie B’s chicken and the Nashville Zoo on her feed so they are running around the town. Can’t wait to see them tomorrow, especially after that bad ass performance last night! You will have to give us a review this b and is so good at the moment. MaskingApathy
Saw a couple videos from Meegan's Instagram story from today's show. Shane did ok but he's no Fitzy for sure.

He isn't a huge fan of slash like I am but we also went to the arena reunion run GNR did in 2017. I thought the band was average to good and the lead singer was impressive
Tourettes2400
I was very impressed even without Fitzy. They kicked ass IMO! I can see why Slash enjoys playing with them. They seem to laugh and joke around with each other during the whole show. Todd also knows how to be a performer. They all seem to interact well with the crowd.

I do think there better then Greta Van Fleet though.

She is only 9 and only has it to compare it to 2 pop concerts. She told me she liked the energy and how they interacted with the crowd. Now I am just scared I am going to have to afford another ticket when I go to these concerts now. New bands are great, don't get me wrong, but when I've seen someone like Axl or M. Shadows perform, it almost feels like a downgrade when I see a newer act who haven't hit their stride yet. And my girlfriend is getting into rock now, so I have to buy 2 tickets for most shows Edited August 8, 2019 by Gibson_Guy87 1

I do think there better then Greta Van Fleet though. Steven Tyler and Brian Johnson were the first 2 guys that came to mind when I first heard him sing. The guitarist has a lot to learn I think, not on slash level obviously but the possibilities are endless. As a drummer, there isn't anything special. He's solid and fills in well. No holes, great tempo. won't be a chad smith or anything probably but will be a solid drummer in this band. Bright future ahead for them all! Yes I agree, GVF is a tad overrated.
MaskingApathy
I like how Dirty Honey's drummer is more low key and doesn't show off. Provides a good foundation for the rest of the band.
Anguyen92
I hope Dirty Honey has a bright future. I got a good feeling about them moreso than GVF. When I'm Gone has been making waves on the Active Rock charts, now a top 10 single, and it's a solid song that fans of classic rock and people that like guys like Slash can get into easily. Funny thing about the whole topping charts doesn't always equal bigger success or placement. Dirty Honey has a top 10 single right now yet they are the opening band of the Skillet/Alter Bridge co-headlining tour in the Fall and it's the right placement since Skillet (whose has a song currently at #18 on the chart) and AB (Wouldn't You Rather is only at #23, but slow and steady is always been the case for AB's singles) has been around for a long time and built a great fanbase to the point where they can comfortably do their own shows and do this co-headlining tour. I hope Dirty Honey provides a solid opening set when I'm going to see them in Raleigh, NC along with 10 Years and AB. All part of that epic week of concert-going where I'm seeing Iron Maiden in LA, Alter Bridge's Walk the Sky album listening party in Orlando, FL, and AB's first headlining show back since late 2017 in Raleigh. djones1225
Had a chance to listen to Dirty Honey's EP last night. I thought it was pretty damn good, When I'm Gone & Rollin 7s are probably my 2 favorites, Heartbreaker has a cool riff, Down the Road sounds kind of like a Soundgarden song in a way & Scars Instrumentally has this Aerosmith Rocks Era kind of vibe. I personally really like it, and there's more potential with this band then Greta Van Fleet.

proud10
Does Slash usually spend most of his time on the right side of the stage for these shows? Going to a show next week with a pit so trying to coordinate.

JONEZY
Slash back to Riverport Ampitheater tonight, St. Louis. First time back to that venue since the 91 riot. He's played elsewhere in St. Louis many times, but I think this is the 1st time at Riverport. Now it's called Hollywood Casino Ampitheater. Carne_asaDA
Went to the CB IA show last night. Didn't stay the whole show. Tix were free and I don't like the songs. Same generic 4/4 time sig every song. Can't wait for GNR on Oct 15th.
