do you reckon axl is going to say anything about BRAZIL'S possible election of a right wing military extremist?

Jair Bolsonaro, a right wing military extremist who openly advocates torture, illegal executions, elimination of political adversaries etc can be elected Brazil's president on sunday. Since Axl lives with a Brazilian family, and since he has pretty much always had an anti-authoritarian stance, i wonder if he is aware of any of that and i wonder if he is going to make any comments about that on twitter etc?

He is not at all what they are saying, they are wanting to deconstruct his image because he will end the hegemony of the socialist left here in Brazil.
And the people will vote for him because he is tired of these corrupt and destructive governments of the left.

Communism? Dead since 1989. Jair Bolsonaro adversary Fernando Haddad is from the left but will (obviously) operate in capitalism system.

Venezuela? Jair Bolsonaro openly proposed to add 10 additional judges in Brazil Supreme Court (STF). Please read it again very slowly: Jair Bolsonaro openly proposed to add 10 additional judges in Brazil Supreme Court. That's EXACTLY what Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela. Do you wonder why Hugo Chavez did that? Do you wonder why Bolsonaro wants to do that? I know you are a smart person so you probably know why. Right? No? Ok, if you haven't figured it out, here is why: because that's on page #2 of the "Dictator's Manual". Once you get control of the Supreme Court you can do whatever the fuck you want -- including torture, illegal executions, elimination (cleansing) of whoever makes opposition to you -- because nobody can stop you. You have the ultimate court of law in your pocket.

Oh, and I asked you a question: if you hear straight from Jair Bolsonaro's mouth that he openly advocates torture, illegal executions and eliminating (cleansing) adversaries will you believe it?

Jair Bolsonaro openly says that he doesn't care if women make less money than men for doing the exact same job because he is "a liberal" and he can choose how much he pays for each of his employees.

Jair Bolsonaro said to a politician (woman) in the Brazil National Parliament that "he wouldn't rape her" because "she didn't deserve it" (meaning she was ugly so he didn't feel like doing it).

Jair Bolsonaro is openly against gay people. he says that gay people are "sick" and he thinks that young boys who show gay tendencies need to be "spanked hard" when they are young in order to become "men".

Jair Bolsonaro spreads lies that leftists governments want to turn all children into gay people using a "gay kit". This "gay kit" would be given by leftists governments to young kids in school so they can learn to be gay; a lot of good people in Brazil believe in this; when I say a lot, i mean MILLIONS.

Jair Bolsonaro said on national TV that his sons would never have relations (including sex) with black people because his sons are "good people, that were raised well" and "they are not promiscuous" and thus they would never hang around with "this kind of people".

i could go on and on...

a lot of good people in Brazil that are (rightfully) enraged by the corruption of the Worker's Party (PT) are choosing to vote for this guy. Who also openly advocates torture, illegal executions, elimination (cleansing) of adversaries etc

New York Times editorial from one day ago calls his views "repulsive" and "gross". It opens like this:

Jair Bolsonaro is a right-wing Brazilian who holds repulsive views. He has said that if he had a homosexual son, he’d prefer him dead; that a female colleague in the Parliament was too ugly to rape; that Afro-Brazilians are lazy and fat; that global warming amounts to “greenhouse fables.” He is nostalgic for the generals and torturers who ran Brazil for 20 years.

please check what the civilized, capitalist, democratic world is saying about Jair Bolsonaro on the opening post of this thread

i have added like 50 links to some of the biggest newspapers in the planet, all of them working on capitalist countries with zero intention whatsoever to promote or advocate communism

i know you are smart enough to notice that

For once I agree wholeheartedly with ludurigan.

I have wondered the same, if Axl might react.

For sure it's scary and beyond my comprehension anyone would vote for someone who says he'd rather have a dead son than a gay son. Plus all those other things mentioned.

Banning gay books? What is that even? Books that might turn you gay? Jesus, what a sad state the world is in.

a little bit more about the "gay books", or "gay kit", i think i didnt explain correctly

Jair Bolsonaro (and pretty much all the right-wing parties in Brazil) claim that the leftist government (that ruled Brazil for about 13 years) wants to turn what they call "normal people" into "gay people"

How?

By giving children this so-called "gay kit" which includes a book (and whatever else) in schools. By giving this "gay kit" to kids, they (the leftists) would be able to teach "normal" kids to become "gay"

this is obviously a pile of horse shit

the so called "gay kit" was/is actually a book that teaches kids that people are different and that everyone deserves to be respected including gay people etc

simple as that

But people like Jair Bolsonaro say "Look! These communists want your kids to be gay bla bla bla" and lot of people actually believes he/them!

...

oh, and since you mentioned Jesus, here is some more stuff

Jair Bolsonaro, the one who wants to eliminate his adversaries, the one who can't stop spreading hate, says that he believes in God, loves God, etc, and that Brazil is a Christian country, so everyone should addapt or leave!

shall we all go back to middle age!?

Most my older Brazilian friends or from Rio are voting for Bolsonaro. Those who are younger are mostly going for Haddad.

That said, a lot of richer Brazilians are voting for Bolsonaro, wonder who Fernando and the rest of TB are voting for.

i wouldn't be surprised if Axl's Brazilian family supports Bolsonaro. Maybe that's why he hasn't said anything so far?

a lot of people in Brazil, rich people, middle class people and poor people don't seem to realize how much of a threat Jair Bolsonaro is to basic freedoms and rights that took DECADES for Brazilians to obtain.

or they choose to ignore this matter because they are so enraged with the leftist party. It's no wonder why people are enraged, the leftist party was (rightfully) caught in a massive corruption scandal and the Brazilian media made a feast out of it, exposing them like if they were the worst thiefs to ever walk the earth for years and years and years on prime time tv

anyone who knows two things about Brazil knows that the system has always been corrupted, including during the dictatorship era 1964-1985 (Yes, for you to have an idea of how democracy is young in Brazil, it is enough to say that Brazil lived under a dictatorship when Guns n Roses was about to be formed!). But during the dictatorship the media couldn't/wouldn't expose the corruption because half the media was subjugated, under censorship, and the other half was aligned with the dictatorship.

If TB are voting for Bolsonaro, they're the biggest hypocrites in the world. I don't rate them really highly, but it would surprise me if they voted for Bolsonaro.

Maybe people who vote this asshole in, just don't deserve any better. We've seen that with Trump too. Trump and Bolsonaro both say such evil things that it should be a no brainer not to have those despicable men in office, but people seem alright with it. It's 2018, FFS. For me, it's hard to stay polite to people who spew such garbage about women, gay people, and other races.

It is a sorry situation when there seems to be no one really deserving running for office.

Yes, he's going to stand on some banana crates with a black beret with the star of La Revolucion on it and read his 12 point socialist manifesto of revolt out to the people of Sao Paolo and stand before them as take their flaming torches and storm the Bastillie together.

Man, it's not worth discussing this here. It is very tiring and it is difficult to expose ideas in texts without being misunderstood, but respect the opinion of those who think differently.

Just to clarify, when I spoke in indoctrination in schools I wanted to say about the way of thinking, indoctrination is done to put in the head of the student the thoughts of the left. I say this with certainty because I live this in my college, it is even difficult to state my opinion there because I am bombarded with curses.

and about the "gay kit", the problem is not to show the diversities, but to its pornographic content and totally inappropriate for children.

Bolsonaro is clearly a vile human being. But if his supporters are okay with that, they should still be opposed to American Imperialism. Why would anyone want to return to that servile position? The USA has intervened militarily in Latin America, seeking complete control of trade, often they've installed or supported right wing dictatorships to achieve their goals. As part of this aggressive intervention the US trains people from Latin America at the School of the Americas/ Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC), in Fort Benning Georgia. They train in torture, kidnapping, death squads, assassinations.

The US trained many Brazilian military and intelligence people in the 60s and 70s. They continued until at least 1996.

Here is a list of the most notorious School of the Americas graduates in Brazil http://www.derechos.org/soa/br-not.html

Here is a list of all known graduates up to 1996 http://www.derechos.org/soa/br5496.html

That is a lot of people! That represents the US Imperial interests in Brazil. And Bolsonaro is just the type they prefer to work with. Who on Earth would clamour to have their Countries wealth extracted by US interests while also having a mad man in power?

Dont forget the past!

Sadly people almost always forget the past when they're concerned about the present. It's why history repeats itself. If people are made to feel oppressed and taken advantage of in the present, they will vote for change no matter how vile that change may be. Look what happened in the US.

I doubt Axl will say anything about that guy, he has no balls.... (I hope he proves me wrong, though) but if he's going to say anything, then he better say it right now, because the guy's already winning and ballotage is like next week or something.

Lots of people are working to convince the voters to change their opinion but I dont know how successful that will be. I think that horrible guy will end up being the President anyway.

It's really just sad, we're so hopeless regarding this elections, Bolsonaro literally has an army, no matter how exposed he's been, no matter how shit of a human being he is.

On the other hand, Fernando Haddad's party has built a massive bad rep from corruption scandals, and although their government made very important social improvements (probably the best government ever), people just won't buy it anymore.

All things considered, I don't feel bad for myself because I'm actually on the privileged piece, I fear for those who have nothing and will have to stand through a autoritarian government.
