It's really just sad, we're so hopeless regarding this elections, Bolsonaro literally has an army, no matter how exposed he's been, no matter how shit of a human being he is.

On the other hand, Fernando Haddad's party has built a massive bad rep from corruption scandals, and although their government made very important social improvements (probably the best government ever), people just won't buy it anymore.

All things considered, I don't feel bad for myself because I'm actually on the privileged piece, I fear for those who have nothing and will have to stand through a autoritarian government.

i also can find an explanation than poor people vote Bolsonaro too, and women's and black people too...They vote worst enemy to they❓is terrible too than evangelist church had such influence on millons of people, many them are poor's ,ignorant people. I hope the best to Brazil:)not Bolsonaro.

He is not at all what they are saying, they are wanting to deconstruct his image because he will end the hegemony of the socialist left here in Brazil.
And the people will vote for him because he is tired of these corrupt and destructive governments of the left.

I'm from Brazil and he defends torture, he said that gays should be beaten, that woman should be paid less than men and that black people were just a dead weight!

Bolsonaro is a military from the extreme right wing, so you can only imagine his toughts and what he intend to do to our people.

This is the worst thing that could happen to Brazil, but we are doomed anyway, both parties are corrupt. But Bolsonaro pledges for violence, there is already people being killed and beaten (mostly gays and black people) because his voters think now they are allowed to do it.

He intends to allow common people to have guns at their homes, but we are not educated enough to deal with the responsibilities of having a gun. So, we are already fearing for a civil war and the increase of violence in the streets.

Brazil is divided, and I think Axl and the GNR camp will choose to be quiet (for now) about the matter. It's better to stay neutral because they will bring a tsunami of hate feedback from both parties.

Those are dark days coming to our people, with the eminent danger for many of us to be tortured and to disappear in case we don't agree or comply with a military system.

Brazil is at the brink of a violent military dictatorship, worst than the ones faced by Venezuela, North Korea and Cuba.

Yes, he's going to stand on some banana crates with a black beret with the star of La Revolucion on it and read his 12 point socialist manifesto of revolt out to the people of Sao Paolo and stand before them as take their flaming torches and storm the Bastillie together.

Right, banana creates! Because we are monkeys to you, right?

Oh, I know a spanish word "La Revolucion", because in Brazil they speak spanish, right?

Oh, and we have flaming torches, because we are irrational beasts and we burn houses in search of werewolves and Frankstein.

No, banana crates because I was thinking about Fyffes bananas at the the time, the crates that were used in England in Hyde Park to stand upon when making speeches I could've been thinkin' about peaches, plums apples and pears but I was thinking about bananas, as that is among the most popular fruits where I'm from.

No boss, I was making light of the manner of armchair socialists who stumble behind the archetype of what they believe Che Guevera was like

No,  i said flaming torches because that was what was used when the Bastille was stormed, it was clearly a reference to the French, not the Brazillian, hence the reference to the Bastille which, with respect, does not refer to the Brazilian.

Yes I do, they say 'those who leap in with their own interpretation tell more about themselves than they do about the joke'.  Thank you.

To answer the original question. Axl could say something if he wants to. But I don't think it's his moral duty. He is not Brazilian nor he has ever lived in Brazil. As far as we know he goes to Brazil only when he has a show to perform. Beta and Fernando could be concerned because they are Brazilians. And this eventual new president could have an impact on their relatives way of life there.

@ludurigan@Legendador (and any other Brazilians) Sounds like you guys are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Really sorry to hear this.

@junior201 why do you think 'the left' would want to turn folks gay?

That's it, both parties are horrible, but the right-extremists are the worst ones and they are putting people's lives in dangerous. Can you believe that Brazil is one of the most racist and homophobic countries in the world?

we are stuck between these:

Fernando Haddad, a leftist candidate that is a democrat, civilized person from a party that has been heavily involved in corruption. remember that that doesn't mean he is a corrupt

Jair Bolsonaro, a right-wing military extremist who openly advocates torture, illegal killings, elimination (cleansing) of adversaries, and who openly considers women, blacks, gays, people from the Northeast region etc, poor etc to be second class citizens

there is a clear choice to be made here

Isn't there a traditional center right party? I'm asking because you mentioned a socialdemocrat party and a far right party. There should be other alternatives

It's messed up. The Catholic church is partly to blame with their insane anti-gay teachings they've spread around South America and the rest of the world.

I absolutely agree. It's a disgraceful shame many of your people apparently can't/won't see it. For what it's worth you're welcome in my country.

Here in Brazil we have a more evil parasite, the pentecostal and evangelical churches, they are the ones funding Bolsonaro's campaing.

YES, there are several alternatives, but only these two candidates made it to the second turn

The main center-right party is PSDB (social-democrat party, some say they are center and not so right), and it has been one of the two main political forces in the country for the last 20-30 years, but their candidate received truly poor voting on first turn of the elections about 18 days ago.

There are other center-right and liberal candidates from the right spectrum that also received even less votes.

i truly don't like and don't believe any of these right or center right parties but i would vote for them in a second without any hesitation if they were up against Jair Bolsonaro, you know?

they are civilized democratic parties that "play the game by its rules" and they dont advocate hate, violence, killing, torture nor elimination (cleansing) of adversaries

exactly

not only funding but spreading the most absurd lies to its followers

these lies include:

- the "gay kit" lie

- the leftist candidate advocates incest and pedophilia

- the leftist candidate wants to give "erotic baby bottles" (with a penis-like nozzle) to babies that spend the day in government day-care centers so they can become gay when they grow up

etc etc

mind you that some tens of millions of the evangelical faithful in Brazil are poor people who had little access to quality education and they are easy prey to these lies

yes right after the first turn of the election there were several episodes of violence and attacks from Bolsonaro followers registered all over the country, including the assassination of an old musician in Bahia in a bar, apparently because he voted for the left candidate

Thanks. What about Congress and the Supreme Court? They can always stop madness if they do their job. And there is also the establishment.

Unfortunately there's no easy prey in Brazil, everybody has access to information, they just chose not to believe in it and something they are even forced to vote by militia, colonels, the crime mob. The country is a mess.
