I don't know much about T Rex other than Bang A Gong. Is there any chance Duff could be singing lead on this rumored song?

Maybe it’ll have Axl and Slash doing co-lead vocals like Buick Makane

I’ve never heard the song before though

They always loved covers. Why were they doing Knocking in Heaven’s Door? In their prime? Or Mama Kin. I loved it in the beginning because it showed they were fans, too. But this has long gotten ridiculous and just a sign of laziness und un-creativity.

If this is true, it would be because they were asked to contribute one cover on a tribute album. That's completely different to me than them sitting around discussing a GNR release and deciding to release a random cover. If it's true and they were asked to do this one thing, I can only be happy they said yes :shrugs:

It doesn't mean they're not planning other stuff. I think this would be totally unrelated to other GNR plans.

no, they can't. be realistic. but it would be an album that all old gnr fans would like and respect. it would contain 1-2 hits. just the vibe would be great. with fortus, Frank and melissa 80% of gnr fans will be not satisfied. without izzy the album would still sound to overproduced. and popcorn should be in 2 tracks at least.

wanna bet? but go ask Izzy and Matt to join first ;)  overproduced as in CD?  UYI 's IMO were exactly produced as they should had been.  YCBM, Dead Horse, Right next door, Pretty tied up, Breakdown, Locomotive, Back off...sound xactly the way I would want them to sound. UYI III would be perfect for me :)

That's sort of where I'm at with it.

I mean, I'm always happy to hear more studio recordings from GNR so that aspect of it is cool, cover or not.

However, I do hope that it's leading to more than just a live album later in the year.

They played S.O.S.?  In what bizarro world did this happen?

I can see them releasing something.  It would make sense if they want to continue to tour into 2019.  An album early in 2019 would set them up nicely for another North American stadium tour for the summer of 2019....then South America, Europe, etc.

I feel like we would have already heard if there was going to be a NA stadium tour. Don't they usually book those a year in advance? But what the fuck do I know

I'm Frnch and you will be better than me to find that but doesn't Axl said that he give to Duff and Slash some composition to work on it here ?

no, not to work on, just to listen to.

They didn't officially announce the 1st leg of the initial NA tour until well into 2016.  There were rumors about it before then but it wasn't officially announced until March or April of 2016.

So I could see them holding off announcing another tour until there's "something" released.  But who knows with this band.  :shrugs::lol:

80% of GNR fans probably don't care about anyone in the band beyond Axl, Slash, and Duff.
