Because of the treaty settlements/payments are made I'm not sure when that'll stop but it will and imo it should. It's a bit complicated. There is kind of a background racism and bitterness from Maori as well as towards them. I personally think of myself and them as equally Kiwi but in general there is an element of them being sort of looked down upon tbh - to an extent - not like how the Aussies are with the Aborigines, their racism is more prevelant and overt ours feels sort of more in the background/more underhanded(not saying that's a good thing I'm just trying to describe). Generally they're thought of as good/normal I suppose but yeah at the same time there's also a lot of baggage. If you want to ask me more specific questions go ahead.
