He changed it from Stranded to Stradlin during the AfD years

Was Duff in Road Crew briefly, with Slash and Adler? I dont know if that would matter for this list anyways though?

Of course! All of the members were recruited for the classic line-up of GN'R.

I think you should also include Rapidfire and AXL/Rose/Hollywood Rose lineups, and also some other bands (London? Road Crew?) because they also match into this era and it all needs to be summarized from the bigger picture.

Curious why you would include LA guns, other than the original incarnation they have nothing to do with GN'R. What about other bands like London, Rapidfie and such? I think that's more relevant to the history.

simply because "the scene" was quite big back then, with people fluctuating between bands quite frequently. the lineup changes are quite relevant - at least if some ex-GNR member was in there.

of course, I agree with you that some bands are more relevant, as I already stated above.

Sure, considering how the band formed but after the AFD5 assembled, LA Guns have no relevance to GN'R.

I just wanted to demonstrate how the classic line-ups of both bands came together (speaking of the AfD, UYI and Hollywood Vampires line-ups).

I either had no idea or had forgotten. Cool.

so Mike hammernik also moved from Lafayette to LA ?

my error there probably. he's not listed in the Lafayette lineup.

my guess is he was LA local, but it's hard to find any meaningful information about musicians like him

Axl had mentioned some names from the "AXL" band in Lafayette. I guess there was no "steady" lineup:

“Axl" came along as name of band, cuz my friend used to write down... My friend Dave Lank wrote down names of bands, him and Mike Staggs and Roger Miley. And we always thought of names of bands and he had this page, like hundreds of names he thought of for names of bands. One day they called me up and they said, "We got a name for a band, 'Axl'". And, like, I don't know, the world was coming down on me in my house and it's, like, I answered the phone and I was like, "What do you want?" "We got a name for a band, 'Axl'. How should we spell it?" And I was like, "A-X-L". Click (laughs).

Mike Staggs is credited for additional guitar on Ain't It Fun.

Wasnt also there a band called AXL?

Yes, in Lafayette. And then in L.A., Hollywood Rose was called AXL at first, and then "Rose".

what is the relevance of listing bands that do not include at least one of the Guns n' Roses guys?

all the listed lineups have at least one (ex-)GNR member, except for some periods where he was out and then in again

i disagree

Tracii Guns, Ole Beich and Rob Gardner were in "guns n roses" for 2 seconds

unless there is some evidence proving otherwise, they never wrote a song with/for/as GNR, never recorded a song with/for/as GNR, and played very few shows with/for/as GNR

not taking anything from them as people or players, but their contribution to Guns n Roses is absolutely irrelevant

Because Guns N' Roses was originally a combination of Hollywood Rose and LA Guns and the other connections with the other bands.

I agree with you.

Tracii Guns was in Guns N' Roses for a hot minute, and other than using his 'name', he has nothing to do with the band after his departure.

No it does because it was the history of the Band that risen from other bands. Without a point of reference in history, there will be a lack of understanding. It is like saying Hitler is bad because he started the war. It doesn't cover how he came to power and other things like the situation that created the conditions for war.
