I was really looking forward to flying over from Europe to the Vegas shows. I knew it would be expensive but this is something else. 300$ for tickets at the upper balcony is just very depressing.

Maybe the ticket price comes with a copy of a new album. That's how Prince did it in 2004

Doubt that, this band would never "give" anything away to the fans, even when most of the business is.

RHCP did the same thing with their most recent record. A lot of bands and artists do this now actually... but I doubt GnR will.

My point exactly! Most artist do, but they won't. Should be a song title on the new album. Release date 2035

It is absurd amount of money but I spend a fair bit - nothing like those prices though - watching chaps play in whites delivering balls to two other chaps in whites for six hours, in between lunch and tea intervals, or waiting around in the rain for chaps to play in whites, so everyone has their odd things which they spend money on that people find utterly bizarre. Everyone has their quirks.

Looking forward to the ashes this year DD. 🙂🏏

Mabe someone would ask to Live Nation or Fernando, which is the reason for it high prices ❓

Because quite simply they can. This isnt like the 70s where the average ticket price for big named bands was under $10.00.

Because there are people paying it obviously, which was my original point.

They would have to charge more if they would do that. :P

I've seen her enough times to know that she mostly goes alone, but obviously gets to know people along the way.

I saw her before the SMKC show I went to last year, and she had a bunch of people with her. This was in the afternoon, hours before doors opened. No one else there in line except her and her entourage. Plus she just takes pics and video the whole time so what's with that?

Yeah. Out of likes, but that. I know I love going to shows and probably would go to some more if I could afford it/would feel comfortable spending that much/wouldn't have an intense dislike of getting ripped off, but going to every single one of them, standing in line every fucking day to be at the front, not batting an eye spending thousands on tickets and travel and being on tour since 3 years. Yeah. That is sad and really no accomplishment when you have more money than god and nothing else going on in your life.

Especially when each show is basically the same thing, night after night.

No one.  People do care that they can no longer go and see their favourite band because of absolutely extortionate prices though.

GNR live seems to be a rich mans game now - that's truly sad. As you say yourself, it doesn't make you any more or less of a fan to be rich......but sadly it does mean you're the only one able to see them live.

Not sitting on a fortune and like GNR? Time to step aside, you're not welcome or wanted.

Seems to be the case, and is a far cry from what their ethos originally was.

I think that the responsible about high price is Live Nation, don't think is the band. I can be wrong.

I think you're right, but the band could do something about reducing the prices if they wanted to.

These tickets will be discounted closer to the shows. Ticket prices consistently fell during the last arena tour.

I hope so, might be possible to go then. I'll just have to watch the prices.

Going to every show is one thing.

Not being able to afford to go to even one show because the ticket is so expensive is something else.

Yes

The idea that people 'are paid what they're worth' is just nonsense. as shown time and time again by the exploitation of lower paid workers. The notion that 'if they don't like it they should make themselves more valuable' is ridiculous - if they don't like it, someone else will take their job immediately. Probably on a lower wage.

We don't live in an economy where workers are valuable anymore - many people simply have to struggle to get by on what they have from the job they have managed to attain, sometimes against nearly impossible odds. To suggest it's their fault that they aren't being paid well is simply wilful ignorance - the sort of claptrap that those at the very top of the financial pile always trot out to justify their own position and do nothing about the growing wage inequality that is causing major issues across the globe.

Plus, it's damn offensive to hard working people.

I agree. Lots of good posts about this but it's true, it's becoming harder to find jobs or switch to a new one. I've been trying to change jobs for 6 months now and they're all going to other people who aren't necessarily better qualified. They whole thing is just a mess.

Yeah. And to add insult to the injury is having to see the hanger ons Instagrams seeing how they all have a good old grand time wherever they go and us being the ones having to pay through our teeths to make them afford it.

Oh I forgot about them. Yeah that's so irritating too.

It remains to be seen how Australia cope with the swinging ball as your lot were useless against ''the ball that does a bit'' in 2015.

Yeah thinking there will be some  good ol reverse swing as well. Not exactly thrilled with smith and warner back in the team. Should have gotten rid of them and blooded younger players more.

I think there are a few other reasons why the tickets are so expensive in Vegas besides the band being greedy and it just being Vegas.

In the last 2/3 years, Caesars Hotel and Casino went through bankruptcy, and just got sold to a new owner/corporation in the last 6 months. Also, I read this odd article earlier this month where the new owner switched from an exclusive contract with AEG, which was Celine's promotion company, to exclusively working with LiveNation. I have a feeling this has something to why all the tickets are so high. I have attached the articles I mentioned below:

Yeah. Like I said, when you're at every show you get to meet people and you get to know people. But still. That's not her "entourage". It's just that other people on their own go to multiple shows too.

Wichita has tickets starting at $59... whether they last more than 30 seconds or are immediately scooped up by the scalpers once they start the general sale is anybody’s guess, but that’s pretty cheap by today’s prices...

Metallica had 40$ tickets for Wichita. It’s a soft market and I’m thrilled they are playing it.

Who are y’all talking about it?

As for the pricing, it certainly is ridiculous, but the setting is where most of that comes from.

Whether or not we (the fans) buy them, or the rich gamblers in Vegas, the tickets will sell and neither route exactly “justifies” the pricing. What “justifies” the pricing is a million-dollar-a-night band playing a venue in Las Vegas that holds less than 5,000 people.

Weren't the tickets for the 2017 Apollo show and whatever smaller venue they played in Japan 'regular NITL price' though? I mean, I get the logic, but it's so blatantly a cash-grab that I can only shake my head and laugh. There is no real justification for those prices.

Once you realise Guns N' Roses are no longer a band but a commodity, a brand, then everything makes sense.

Qft. If they were just going to tour nostalgia as a corporation its a shame they couldn't even get the whole band back

Apollo was contest and invite only, so tickets weren’t sold.

And not sure what show it may have been in Japan, but I don’t think this lineup has done any other venue that holds less than 10,000; If that?

I agree there’s no justification for the prices, or at least not a good one for the fans benefit. But maybe one day they’ll get out of the Live Nation contract and the prices can level out some. Until that happens, I don’t see the prices changing much.

Maybe if we would find which is in LV the price in shows of others artists, would compare if this is exaggerate price or " normal" price accord LV standards.
