Towelie
I've seen Prince drop his plectrum in concert and then carry on playing with his fingers, even during guitar solos. Has Slash ever done this?
El Guapo
No Idea, but look what Ritchie Kotzen is playing without a pick, it's insanity. Edited August 13, 2019 by El Guapo
soon
I think he might always play with a pick. Even when he plays slide I believe he still uses a pick. That song from curdled came to mind about Slash. Its a spanish nylon guitar. Its hard to tell, but to my ears I think he is using a pick here too. Fortus does some hybrid picking - or at least holds his pick while tapping with his middle finger on Better? He definltey finger picks leads with his thumb, index and middle finger. Not sure if he does that on stage with Guns though.
EvanG
I've seen him drop a pick and continue playing the solo with his fingers and still sounding great.
moreblack
He'll fingerpick a part like that intro, but I'm not sure if he'll do solos or switch to fingerpicking during a distorted part. Seems he favors that technique for just quieter parts Edited July 30, 2019 by moreblack

fernandoGNR
He played the It's So Easy solo without a pick in this video (23 min. mark). I think he might have dropped the pick because after the solo he grabs another one and carries on playing with a pick

Ralphelmo
You'd be surprised how often he plays with his fingers.

Tourettes2400
Not here, or at least not during this song in Nashville. He had his pick in his mouth while playing.
