Bucket is really what holds that album together. Only Axl Rose would look at Brian May's solo and go, ''nah, think I'll replace it'' haha - similarly with Buckethead. TeeJay410
Wait so are people actually debating whether this is about Slash or not because my god what a strange coincidence it would be if it weren’t.

Yes, it's hard to believe he did that. Those were crimes against guitar but on some level you know what? I respect him even more for that. cause it means he doesn't care enough about who you are or how good you are if it doesn't tick all the boxes. He didn't want to use Robin's work cause he left the band so he got Brian May to come to the studio and help only to not actually use him but getting in there and compose it for him lol. The balls it takes to splice together a solo with your engineer cause you're not satisfied with what the guitar player came up with. That's being objective isn't it? and open to using whatever tools you can to get the job done. It's a similar situation to Rocket Queen when you think about it. Voodoochild
I think it's pointless to say that Hard School should have been in the album instead of this and that track. The point is: this should've been released already along with all the other songs in the vault. Axl wouldn't release all of the best songs - or what he considered as the best songs - in the 1st album anyways, the plan was to release more soon later. Obviously that didn't happen, but there was a reason on why HS wasn't on Chinese Democracy and IMO this is why. 1 hour ago, DieselDaisy said: Only Axl Rose would look at Brian May's solo and go, ''nah, think I'll replace it'' haha - similarly with Buckethead. I agree about Brian May in CITR, but I don't know about Buckethead's work. The guy is fenomenal, but he also recorded a lot of non-sense noodling. I don't miss his solo in Riad (nor Robin's), even tho I much prefer the Antiquiet version. I would love to hear his original take on Shacklers, though. rocknroll41
The new full mix of Hardschool that leaked yesterday is so much smoother! I’m really digging the song as is now! Edited August 28, 2019 by rocknroll41

Unsure of "lifting" though, really hard to figure out that one. As for the rest of the lyrics, it's 100% accurate.

I think the thought behind it was to establish the new GNR under the Guns N' Roses banner, and having a guest star, or a bunch of guest stars doesn't really help establish a guy like Ron, Robin, DJ or Richard as "part of the band," but still... that May solo was killer. I reiterate, I love Ron Thal as a musician and a human being - having met him several times. I'm sure he will agree; his solo on Catcher is just lacking compared to May's. Gimpy Hewitt
Don’t ask why I think this because it’s hard to describe but the laid back guitar solo bridge after the first main solo kinda gives me similar strong vibes of the guitar solo in Rock N Roll Ain’t Easy. Again I have no clue but it just sounds kinda similar to me.
Gordon Comstock
After listening to the song a bunch of times and kinda letting it sink in, I think the song either needs to be cut down to about 2:45-3:00, or the intro and bridge need a lot more Pitman and Buckethead. Any bets on which one Axl picked? 1
