Top notch ? From public side: I remember clearly that critics did not enjoy it as much as you think they did ... Chinese democracy had better reviews what I know ... what both these albums had in common is that the promotion was bad. In my opinion both are superb, everything is matter of taste. To each his own. I think it's great. It contains a perfect Bucket solo and Axl's vocals are flawless. Really went for it on that one. The album needed a fun song like that with a different feel to it imo.

nycgunner
This sucks. It’s not GNR. Definitely an Axl solo song. I can’t even imagine him performing this live and being taken seriously.
jimisbatman
Can someone remix it, and remove the mcdaddy stuff? Other than that, its catchy as, and brilliant album filler.

Sounds like it's about a relationship wherein Axl didn't keep a close eye on things and found out about something his partner didn't want him to. He also makes a comment on if his partner only ever thought of him as a person to give orders. As per the Guns over Oz Facebook page: All this time I thought I had my eye on you But now I know the things you did not want me to Who am I to say what you should say or do If that was all you ever thought I meant to you I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s your mac daddy (a-hey hey) (a-hey hey) Who’s the mac daddy (a-hey hey) Who’s the mac daddy A-hey All this time I thought I had my eye on you But now I know the things you did not want me to Who am I to tell you what to say or do If that was all I ever thought I meant to you I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (a-hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (a-hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (a-hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s the mac daddy (a-hey hey) I know you think you’re bad but who’s your mac daddy (hey-hey hey) (a-hey hey) Who’s the mac daddy (a-hey hey) Who’s the mac daddy A-hey All this time I thought I had my eye on you But now I know the things you did not want me to Who am I to say what you should say or do If that was all you ever thought I meant to you All this time you thought I had my eye on you But now you know the things I did not want you to Who am I to tell you what to say or do And now I know exactly what I meant to you
THELINESMAN
The Hey Hey's would sound very cool like Alice in Chains without the cringy 'I know you think your'e bad but who's the Macdaddy'!
Amir
I can actually picture a badass Buckethead solo taking this track to another level of awesomesness. Hope such a version exists. Would definitely be more worth of disc space than Blood in the Water. Edited September 20, 2019 by Amir 1
rumandraisin
This is... Badass. It's so wrong but with good headphones so right. Not guns material though. I don't know what it comes under but it's cool as fuck.
Stress Fracture
So they’re not doing anything for the new Terminator film but if they did it would be this and Arnie would be the mac daddy with his eye on you. Live Like a Suicide
Still more entertaining than Slash's Living the Dream album. Axl was right to take Guns in an experimental direction. Stro
What a thing to wake up to lmao Tbh, musically and the chorus melody is pretty good. Take out the Mack Daddy thing (which wasn't even a cool phrase by 1999-2000) and have lyrics for all the verses/chorus instead of the same line over and over and it could be a solid bootleg NIN song.

Needs some work but a damn good track with excellent vocals. Really cool song. Always love when Axl does the multi layered vocals. Not to mention, 8 songs are out, the threshold for an album- we have CDII. 1.) Going Down 2.) Silkworms 3.) Oh My God 4.) Eye on You 5.) Atlas Shrugged 6.) Perhaps 7.) State of Grace 8.) Hardschool 9.) KOHD Acoustic (Bonus Track) GG guys. It was a wild ride but we have heard the vault and have finally heard the album I never thought we’d hear. It feels pretty damn good. What vocals are layered? The Hay Haays? The chorus has no layered vocals at all

uzi your illusion
I'll tell you what's great about these songs. Me and 2 of my best friends are hardcore GNR fans. And all 3 of us have a different favorite from the stuff that leaked. I like Perhaps the best, one of them likes SOG, and the other thinks Hard School was the best of the bunch. I think that speaks to the quality of the tracks and the variety of the sound. Axl had some absolute gems he was working on. God Damn I just wish I had his finished version of what he wanted the double album to have looked like.
Gackt
It's an early version, I hope there's a later one with guitars in the mix because this song could be a banger with the right mix. I hope to see some signs or shirts made with "EYE ON YOU" or "AXL'S MY MACK DADDY" on them on this tour.
