Popular Post Underhardy
If Axl laid down proper vocals/lyrics on these 3 instrumentals (Elvis, Quick Song, Zodiac) they are BIG GUNS. These are fucking badass. What a killer band. Axl said he laid down some of his meanest vocals EVER on the bridge of Elvis(Soul Monster). Ugh. Why Axl, whyyyyyy. We needed this shit. And still do 5

jbhutto
I was kinda half awake and looked at my phone and missed the "instrumental" bit. Still awesome tho, we now believe even more!!!

rocknroll41
Just now, Spirit said: Leave Me Alone was also a title at some point, not sure how it fits within the timeline Axl referred to Leave Me Alone as "the working title" which implies (to me, at least) that it came first. So: Leave Me Alone -> Me & My Elvis -> Elvis Presley & the Monster of Soul -> Soul Monster

yoshimura
Soul Monster, Zodiac and Quick Song sound like compositions originating from Buckethead. Edited September 22, 2019 by yoshimura

yoshimura
The opening guitar chord sounds like the same chord from Quick Song at 0:54, but transposed. Some similarities between Quick Song and Soul Monster

It's gone through name changes, had Beltrami add to the mix, supposedly has some venomous lyrics. 1
Arnuld
It’s really good. Love the little piano codas. I’m surprised the lyrics are angry. It does not remind me of Black Sabbath. It’s sounds like modern GNR just like the rest of the CD stuff.

Voodoochild
I like this song, the outro would be awesome with some Axl high-pitched screams. But Quick Song is still my favorite of the instrumentals.
The_General_13
No one noticed that there is a riff in Soul Monster that is very similar to the main Zodiac riff?
