Rough Mixes CD #1 Full Leak Discussion Thread **NO LINKS, NO ASKING / HINTING FOR LEAKS**

Recommended Posts

some posts here almost made me cry. it's really a shame that Axl got so fucked by producers and the label and couldn't release this. This was his vision, this would've been huge... I can listen to Perhaps and it's a instant classic... It's really sad that he couldn't make this come true the way he always wanted

Now this is an album for sure! I can totally see this doing really well if this would've been released in 2000.

Ok this is amazing I'm currently on Perhaps, mastering across all tracks so far is comparable EQ wise & Volume wise, If this isn't 2000 intentions its the closest were going to get to it (at least until tomorrow) because fuck knows what gems are coming the.

1. Maddy works as an opener or at least this mix does sounds great

2. TWAT you can hear BASS! something missing from released version

3. Atlas sounds amazing with extra guitars & this mix, but I might prefer the last leaked version just a bit more. I think this is now in my top 5 or 6 GNR songs

4. Perhaps same as above

5. Prossy, meh prefer album version of this

6. Riad of all the mixes of this I have heard of this tune this is the most unique

7. No idea had to listen to track 6 again!!!!!

Perhaps Bob was wrong.

This CD is all killer, no filler.

However I highly doubt this was the final track list for a new record. It's so ballad heavy. More so than 2007 Chinese Democracy. And that had bangers like Shackler's, Better and IRS in addition to the title track and Riad.

I may as well hurl my CD version of the album off a cliff

this is Chinese Democracy.

The Blues even sounds amazing..... I fucking hate The Blues but not this version

If this came out in 2000 or 2001 it would have been number one. It's so unique, so different and yet melodic with brilliant lyrics. What a shame. Well done Axl, if someone stopped you releasing this they are a big fool.

Wow. Just wow. This should've been it back in 2000/2001. Fucking awesome. It could've been HUGE. And based on what we've heard from Rough Mixes 2-4 a followup would've been done within a year.

Fuck, can you imagine releasing a triple-album with this stuff?

Totally agree. It`s fully Axl`s album, it`s not GNR. So CDII could have other left tracks from 2008 release and OMG.

Haven’t had the chance to listen to it all yet, but listened to Atlas. That version is cool though I prefer the versions on the Atlas disc. The harmonics at the start is beautiful

Harmonics not harmonica, fucking auto correct

Confused me with the harmonica there for a sec, thought you must have a version I didn't lol

The bass in this album is what the final release desperately lacked. Really cool to hear the "Axl's vision" version of CD. A really solid album!

If we still don't get a version of Silkworms with a chorus by the end of these leaks then I officially give up with that damn song.

Wow I was wrong about these discs - someones done some funky stuff to those previously released leaks, they're like mono'd or something. These sound like they need mastered and thats about it!

Just so we're all clear (I'm sure someone answered this before) - this is actually the second attempt at the album. Sean Beavan / Youth did the original version of the album with Josh Freese (which also has leaked out there and sounds very raw, very different). This is the result of the Roy Thomas Baker sessions where they effectivly re-recorded the whole album I believe. But this is close to the album that they were looking at releasing in 2001 with that tour that got binned.

However is there no Bucket on this disc at all?

And Chinese itself surely, so basic and heavy

I'm torn between this one and the 1999 one with Freese on drums. But its like picking between 2 fine beers - hard to say which i like better and both get the job done!

in all euphoria, atlas is still incomplete and silkworms in this version is aids for ears.

its better than the final mix, but its still far from being perfect.

i like riad cause it sounds wild and real. like done in one take. silkworms is an artifical patchwork mess.
