Not sure if it cause it was too hard to sing for him but who knows. 2012 for the last time. SOD is the 4th most performed songs from the CD. We love Axl Rose
Axl's voice is certainly not the reason why they didn't play SOD since the reunion. This is stats for NITL Tour. Edited March 13, 2022 by We love Axl Rose

smokingarthur
What that song devolved into is a sad reminder of what Axl is capable of doing.
ShadowOfTheWave
Axl butchered SOD by removing a lot of the guitars and the keyboards. Unless he is going to go back to playing it the 2001/2002 way it should stay gone.
Gordon Comstock
In 2011-12 it had become a low point of the show, and there were a lot of fans who wanted it dropped and replaced by Catcher, because "at least the clean vocals work on pretty well on Catcher". Axl might've sounded decent on it in 2016 but at this point I don't want to hear this lineup play it.
mystery
I was watching a performance of this last night, I think Reading 2010. Axl performs it perfectly. It's always been top 3 in my favorite Chinese Democracy songs so it's crazy to think the current band bar Frank and Dizzy have never played it. RussTCB
I get my head caved in every time I say this, but I firmly believe you will never see The Blues played with Slash in the band. 2

DTV88
Street of Dreams always seemed unfinished to me. The break in the music fees like it’s missing something.

SoD is generally a pretty “Mickey” song. Compared to Better, it’s easier to sing, and I’m sure he’d sound better.

People tend to read too much into things. Not only is there no chance the line above applies to SLASH, I very, very, very much doubt that the line "I don't know just what I should do, Everywhere I go I see you" fits either. Look for the lines that don't fit rather than the ones that might. That makes it far easier to conclude to whom the lyrics might be referring. It's not about SLASH. Moreover, some fans tend to forget AXL's proclivity to write about the women in his life. Edited March 15, 2022 by thunderram

The fullest version of it I can think of, is one of the rough mixes on the Village Sessions disks, the one with Josh on drums. That is my favorite version ever of this song, the album version lacks a full low end and I definitely miss the full band parts with the cool guitar lick
El Guapo
I remember being quite irritated by the forced sounding, raspy verses of the album version when I finally heard it. I was baffled how most of the beauty and soul from the Rio live version was missing on the album. Pretty much the same with Madagascar.
