Dizzy Reed on Mitch Lafon

Recommended Posts

Won't even bother listening to this, but you know Dizzy has to be a wealth of information and ridiculous stories by the sheer length of time he's been in the band. If I were to choose two people to have an in-depth interview with regarding the band, I would probably say Dizzy Reed and Paul Tobias.

It’ll sure be interesting if come a day where his tenure with Guns ends or the band disperses, thus ending his gag order. Probably has a million things to talk about but just can’t.

It would be cool if he wrote a book.

Anything of interest, anyone?

It's Dizzy Reed. You do not stay in Guns N' Roses for 29 years by revealing anything of interest.

EDIT: Also, damn. I always read (and know in my head) that Dizzy has been the longest tenured member after Axl, but the implications don't strike you until you see that number. Think of how much longer he's been in there compared to some of the most beloved members of the band (Slash, Steven, Izzy, Matt, etc.).

You're right. Not clicking then.

Why would he leave anyways? All he has to do is bang a bongo for 90% of the time he's on stage, fuck who wouldn't take that job?

Dizzy's actually quite talented. He can play a lot of instruments and sing.

Let's be honest here he was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Anyone could've done for the band for what he does, he's got nothing that sets him apart from any other keyboardist

Totaly irrelevant Diswald is.

I think he would probably agree with you

He'd need to have a serious falling out with Axl before he'd open his mouth. End of the day, he was and is taken care of Axl he isn't going to throw away his position just for a quick headline.

Why he would ever talk about the deep shits Axl never wanted public? Or say something negative about him? Axl was the guy who helped him when he was broke and pratically homeless...

Maybe to a lot of people loyalty is something underestimated... It doesn't seems to be Dizzy's case. And for me it's a better way to handle life than "I can talk shit about Axl publicly because I know Axl and I love him" that some members uses to promote his solo efforts in the past

Of course, I don't expect or want Dizzy to talk shit about Axl or anything, however there comes a point where when you can recite nearly verbatim the exact stories and phrases GNR memebers use in all interviews, with no information whatsoever that is useful to the fans.  Like, just what is even the point of interviews if it is all practically the same thing, y'know?

Same thing with Richard Fortus and the "hopefully soon we will work on a new album, Axl has a lot of material" phrase he has repeated since 2009 lol

I believe even Bez would have more integrity than to take it. (Still love Bez though)

I don’t believe there are or were a lot of straight rock band piano players or keyboardist who could mesh with GNR.

As long as a keyboradist can play keyboards at a high level and probably learn the piano driven songs by ear fairly quickly they would be a shoein. Dizzy plays keyboards, marakas and bongos on stage. To me he has no more musicality that the 976 horns players. Also i doubt he would talk shit in the press as dizzy could be gone and im sure Mel could easily take his place.

I think he composes music. The blues is a nice piano song.
