Amaya
Good for Axl, Duff, Slash there. It is THEIR song and their rights. Mo money, mo money, mo money. 3 man split. Personally, It is a great and lucky decision to sell your songs anyway you can .$0.00 Izzy and Steven have no rights to royalties there, correct. Izzy and Steven are still considered songwriters. I'm sure they'll get checks. Who knows, though.

Izzy and Steven still get royalties for songs they were part of. Steven talked about that in an interview recently. Said he still gets money from gnr. Amaya
@something.always. @rocknroll41 thanks for explaining. I did wonder if it still worked that way. I thought as I read it here, remastered AFD to UYI so that eliminates Iz and Stev.. Good for them it does not. Live Like a Suicide
I can't believe we have been reduced to talking about a song cameo in a superbowl ad. Edited February 3, 2020 by Live Like a Suicide 1 1

k12
I wonder how much they have to pay to just just use the whistle and guitar and if they had to pay more to use the actual song and if certain songs are more money to use

Anytime old guns music is used that past members have song credits, they receive payment. Izzy definitely gets a share of this ad dolla, dolla! Not 100% that steven had credits on Patience.

The song is from a GNR album that they all contributed to so... Any material from that album. Automatically incurs royalties.
