Fuck me! Less than 12 hours into lockdown and I'm sitting in my pants playing XBox, drinking Stella and eating custard straight from the tin with a wooden spoon.

My work just closed indefinitely today. Going to (reasonably) stock up on a few items tomorrow. Might need to buy up some guitar strings - I think I'll have plenty of time to play.

But on a more serious note, I'm going to enjoy the time off with my daughters and especially while my oldest is off school.

San Francisco just went into 24 hour lock down for 3 weeks. No going anywhere except doctors appointments and the grocery store.

I'm assuming all other States will do the same thing by the weekend.

Houston area public schools closed as of today until April 10. It was until March 21 yesterday.  State testing canceled for this year.  I wish the students , 3rd, 4th, 5th graders, would still be tested ,but not have it count.  It vould be just a gauge for them, their districts to see. No true purpose.  I am not on contract, but work in a district. I will survive.                              Time to do house   big  Spring cleanings like window washing, painting.    Be safe everyone.  Be smart.  Be positive. Turn off the news  sometimes and look at other things.

I'm seeing a lot of people saying the virus is fake and it's all part of some big conspiracy. I know there's some stupid people out there but JFC

They need to feel special somehow...

I realized there is nothing people won’t believe when people started making shit up about the Newtown shooting.

Someone told me today it’s all caused by the new 5G frequencies.

Stockpiled on the important herbal medicine today. Food tomorrow. Fuck the world then for 3 weeks. I’ll be a few stone heavier by the end of this racket....

PS: Look after your older people, ask if they need drugs, booze, cigarettes etc...

I think cities being closed down are mandatory. There’s a reason China’s cases dwindled fairly quickly, even if it appeared draconian to our world (not saying China handled everything perfectly of course)

As for me, I’m living on a college campus doing online classes at the moment. It’s a ghost town since not a lot of people returned for spring break. A few businesses still open on campus, but I see maybe 3-4 faces walking around on a given day. It’s unsettling. The good news is the school is taking care of us, there is always food and accommodations, not to mention security not letting in anyone who appears suspicious or ill 24/7 at the moment. Could definitely be in a worse place, feeling cozy at the moment, but alert since fuck knows who I even walk past could have it unknowingly.

Took my entire computer rig home from work and am working from home for the “foreseeable future” as of today. Luckily I do graphics and art direction, so working remotely is pretty easy. It’s actually nice having my records and dogs with me while I work now.

while humans are suffering, this will probably be the best few weeks or months the earth has had in decades.

I'm really annoyed that the supermarkets and government advised us not to stockpile, before announcing we've to stay home.

It's already making things easier for the rich who can drive to the out of town supermarkets and load up the Range Rover. My sister in law who relies on state benefits is so worried about how she's going to feed her daughters. She can't afford the fines if she pulled them out of school.

A lung specialist here warned that lots of young healthy people come in after having been sick for a week, then feel better, but get short of breath, go to hospital and appear to have severely damaged lungs. With no lung problems before 😨

Kind of hope we go in lockdown too. Not that it would change a lot for me personally.

I just hope people will take it seriously. But I see even intelligent people here don't seem to get it, so I fear the worst.

this is the detail that governments all around the world have been silencing. I've not seen any prior report about this, and it's impossible that this isn't the case in other countries

belgium is lacking in many departments, so an urgency doctor is able to reveal this information before being shut down.

it is much much worse than we have been told. Shockingly worse, in fact. scar tissue is forming in your lungs without knowing. I'm not sure you can even recover from that.

It’s St Patrick’s day today. Usually our busiest day of the year. No parades, no pubs.

Unbelieveable that all this is happening.

Again you are lying. Governments are not silencing any long-term physical effects of having been infected with the corona virus. Such data is only recently being developed (after all, the disease started late in 2019) and reported by the media. See this as an example: https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-recovery-damage-lung-function-gasping-air-hong-kong-doctors-2020-3?r=US&IR=T

And I quote:

"The Hong Kong Hospital Authority made the findings after studying the first wave of patients who were discharged from the hospital and had fully recovered from COVID-19.

Out of 12 people in the group, two to three saw changes in their lung capacity.

"They gasp if they walk a bit more quickly," Owen Tsang Tak-yin, the medical director of the authority's Infectious Disease Centre, told a press conference Thursday, according to the South China Morning Post.

"Some patients might have around a drop of 20 to 30% in lung function" after full recovery, he said."

It is obviously not possible to appeal to any human decency you might have, or sense of shame, so I don't know what to do about your constant lies and misinformation in this thread. This is simply not a time to accept such behaviour from you. People might read your lies and believe you.
