When did Axl lose his musical and performing drive?

Was this his aim, to phase out old stuff and just play new music?

From what i have read, yes. From what i have read in interviews he felt it difficult to wrap his head around singing jungle or scom during 06.

I don't think he sounded so cool in 2010, he had the voice but almost no control, always losing breath and consequently the potency and quality.

So I say that he started "losing it"(his voice) in September 2010, and in December 2010 he sounded almost like he did in the 2011 tour, if you listen to the last concerts of 2010 you will see that he sings predominantly with a clean voice. But I believe that nowadays the changes he does, vocally speaking, are a mix between personal taste and health care.

Yea his voice was definitely starting to sound tired/thinner by the end of 2010. He still had power in his voice for the most part, though.

Late 2011 is underrated, there were some really good shows like Seattle or LA, and luckily the LA show was live-streamed so there's a pro-shot of it. I listened to Civil War from that show a couple days ago and Axl sounded fantastic.

Of course we don't know the full extent of their relationship, or Beta or her family's influence. It's all speculation. You're probably right in that they're protective and he likes that, but it's also possible that Axl's emotional fragility allowed him to be manipulated. We don't know. :shrugs:

I feel like Axl let himself be manipulated by Stephanie Seymour and then Beta. I think he knew what he wanted when he was married to Erin Everly, but they were too toxic for each other. I think Axl may have "jumped" from Erin to Stephanie because he needed someone. I'm sure he loved Stephanie and, as someone here stated before, the idea of her. I don't think he let himself heal and grow from one relationship to the next. When the Stephanie debacle was over he had Beta and he eased into a relationship with her where he allowed to her to mother him and take over somewhat. I believe he has healed himself emotionally, but wasn't that also part of the wild and crazy Axl we all love? I remember he did an interview where he said that together the original 5 we're like a gang. When they stopped touring everyone went their separate ways and started buying houses. On the flipside the rest of the band felt the gang aspect and the brotherhood was over after Axl called them out on stage for dancing with Mr. God damn Brownstone.
