Sweersa
Assuming the rumors of the rejected 2010 album are true, that would be a welcome corona surprise by the band. Sell it as a digital download, with a portion of the proceeds going towards relief efforts on the impact of corona. Hell, I'd even take the CD remix album.

I doubt they're even "looking very seriously in that regard".

They at least have touring down, sort of.

AxlRoseCDII
I don’t really think Guns has anything to say on it. They’re a band, and I don’t think every single entity in the world needs to stay something about the pandemic. That being said, they definitely do only care about money, I’m just saying this isn’t a indicator of it.

BangoSkank
What exactly are they supposed to do? They don't have answers or information? They're a rock band, not international ambassadors.
DieselDaisy
Don't know about being a rock band but they are certainly wankers. 2

There are so many things they COULD do to take money from us in a way we'd be very happy with. I'd buy live albums, archive releases, new material obviously etc. But they don't want our money for these things. What I WON'T buy are things like laundry bags, toy trucks, and minature baseball bats.....which serve the purpose of making the band look like money grabbers while also providing something people don't seem to want. So, in a way, the money seems to be not an issue with them. Aside from very expensive tickets, there's nothing to spend any money on. I spend nearly nothing on GNR anymore as there simply isn't anything to buy. On the other hand, I think their lack of any sort of update (or even mention) of the tour that's due to start in a few weeks is awful. People have considerable money invested in tickets and travel etc.....but are being left totally in the dark about any sort of plans. All we know is that the concerts won't be happening......even though they're still on sale. No excuse of "well plans are being made" excuses them from at least acknowledging the fact that people are rightly concerned about where their money is, and what is going on. Yes, exactly. As for the band not providing any updates on the planned European tour, I don't think they know what is going to happen, either. I don't think they are being deliberately untransparent - they don't know and are monitoring developments themselves.
Axeli
Come on guys. Maybe there is a lot going on right now. We dont know. I think they give the news when they are 100% sure how things go..all the dates, new dates etc. Maybe someone have the corona in the camp already..who knows? Just because they dont talk doesnt mean they dont care. Don't get me wrong they are a bit boring band nowadays. Autopilot mode..

Popular Post D..
15 hours ago, username said: One of the many ways this is happening is through artists taking to the internet to cheer up and support their fanbases. From personal messages to online live performances to personal video's where they're playing or telling stories to sharing demo material or outtakes. And I think it's amazing because I don't think any of this is particularly profitable to them. It is profitable. That doesn't mean every artist does it consciously or maliciously, but it is a way to stay relevant and show you care and offer yourself a good image. Easy way to see if it's fake or not is to see if they've always acted that way. Liam Gallagher for example has remained exactly the same: he speaks to his fanbase through twitter on a daily basis, answering to some very random messages and users, and has done so long before Covid-19. He is a class act in my book. Some others do it because they have nothing else to do and want to stay relevant. In that regard, Axl acts like he has always done: he doesn't communicate. This shows he doesn't bullshit people generally speaking. Not saying it is a good thing, but he is consistent with who he is and that he doesn't lie. My main problems with all those artists in general is that what they're mostly doing (talking, singing, etc) doesn't help much. They could do so much more. A lot of people don't have an "official" job or don't have savings (or whatever other problem) and need money to buy food. Some artists could use their fanbase to gather money and give it to poorer people, and also use some of their own money. And/or for hospitals. Too few artists do it. As I'm a nobody here, I'll allow myself to say it: that's what I did. I used my small fanbase to generate money and distribute it to poorer people (35 euros per person). It's been a month and we're still able to help over here in France with that system I came up with: generous people send money to my paypal, and then I send cash -through "friends" option- with paypal to people who have showed me they are having money issues to buy food. It's not helping thousands (yet) but almost a hundred so far within a month. That's a start. If a lot of artists (or people with a fanbase) did the exact same thing, that would be a huge progress. That doesn't make anyone a saint or whatever, it's just about helping and caring in this f**** mess. I can't completely foresee the economical catastrophe that's upon us, so we'd better start resolving what we can resolve at the moment. Back to Axl as we're on a GN'R forum, I feel he could do something like this. That's up to him. There's no way to force him. Same goes for other artists. I don't care about the singing & sharing bootlegs or whatever. I care about real help for the world and the different nations. This crisis will show (at least to me) what kind of men those artists we loved or disliked really are and are made of. Are they gonna just sit on their ass and wait for the storm to end, or will they do something to help? We'll see. And I won't accept the "I help but I don't tell anybody cause I'm classy". When you have some kind of fame, you should say what you're up to, because it can influence others to do so, and we can resolve things much more quickly. Note I don't want to sound like I'm blaming Axl in particular, it's just a general message to artists. Axl doesn't disappoint me in particular for now, I'm more pissed off with celebrities asking the population to stay home when they live in huge mansions whereas most people live in small apartments with no space, when those very same celebrities do literally nothing to help people. They don't give a f**** really. But Axl could help a lot of people financially, especially if he uses his fanbase. Same goes for loads of other artists. Good luck to everyone on this board, I hope you all make it out fine.

rebeldhipi
i think its pretty pathetic to expect gnr to keep you busy and cheer you up during a pandemic. They are a rock band, not the morning cartoon on the tv. Gnr is a band that plays music, i expect nothing more nothing less. What metallica does on youtube is cool. but do i think all other bands are greedy because they dont do the same? hell no. 3
WhazUp
Fiona Apple is pushing the release date of her album up to this month even though her record label said to wait until later in the year due to Corona. If GNR released even one or two "new tracks" like Slash and Duff on Hard School or something, that would be very cool Hell, even just letting us watch GNR videos on Youtube without takedowns every 5 seconds would be enough for me to at least feel like they care a little Edited April 8, 2020 by WhazUp
