Live Era 87-93

Recommended Posts

Two random thoughts:

On the back cover, Axl is saying he is in Limbo during this time (written on fan's shirt, coincidence?.)

Also, before It's So Easy, Axl says "Phil, what about some lights?"  Apparently he is speaking with Phil Ealy, and he designs GNR concert lighting to this day.  Hopefully Phil might grant an interview, he probably has some cool stories!

I wonder what its like to be a lighting director for Guns N’ Roses these days.

”Don’t shine too much light on Axl, we don’t want the world to know he’s large.”

”watch what lights you use and when, we don’t want you to fuck up the videos we are going to make and then never release”

Like 95% sure that's Duff, and did you mean Brownstone?

Listen to that version again then listen to Brownstone from RIR 3. Tell me it's not the same guy.

"But if he's cracking a joke light that fucker up like a Christmas tree. That's when he looks less bloated."

Slash was a lot involved in putting together and mixing Live Era, and he promoted the album after it was released. If there were overdubs by NuGnR members as people here claim, I don't think Slash would have done so - or even allowed it to be released.

If anyone ever interviews Phil Ealy please ask him where this speech  was recorded, it’s like the last mystery of live era, except Robin on Brownstone which I doubt we’ll ever solve. Hell somebody as Robin lol.

The canned audience sound is the more distracting to me than any overdubbed vocals or other alleged fuckery

Fair enough, when I first heard the Family Values Tour 1999  live album, I knew it sounded familiar. Pretty sure it's the same crowd noise on Live Era
