Chris Cornell Cover of "Patience" Dropping Tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Are we sure it’s a cover of the GnR song? And not just an unreleased song of his that happens to also be called Patience?

i coulda sworn that he wasn’t that big of a GnR fan anyways.

EDIT: nevermind I just read the fine print in the pic above. Fuck me.

He was on Slash's solo album and he played a show with Duff in 2015 (Mad Season & Friends). That doesn't mean he was a big GNR fan but there was still connections after the UYI tour I guess.

I'm definitely looking forward to hearing his take on Patience.

Awesome. Liked his previous covers, so looking forward to this.

However, to truly celebrate the man's work, and name, why not release one of his last songs he wrote with soundgarden?

They are still battling in court over the last soundgarden albums writing credits.

Holly shit man......

Axl knew about this. Im fkn sure.

I would say so. If chris probably had plans  to release this commercially before his passing  im sure he would have needed UMG approval.

You don't need approval to cover and release a song, you and me could cover jungle tonight and release it without any issues. It's only with sync rights that you need band/label approval. Regardless, I'm sure GN'R had a heads up about the track.

Wow I love It!!!

Same here, I really dig this cover!

Chris has a fantastic ability to cover songs and put a cool spin on them.  Songs that come to mind are Ticket To Ride, Better Man, Nothing Compares 2 U, and Imagine
