How To Play Harmonics ?

Recommended Posts

well real harmonics is where you just touch the string (dont push down too hard) with your left hand and play the note normally with your right, works best on 12th fret but you can do em in other places too.

pinch harmonics are more difficult. you can do these anywhere - you need to play the note as normal with your left hand but when you pick the note you have to hit the string with the plectrum and thumb at the same time, just hang your thumb over the end and make contact with the string just after the plectrum. its makes a wicked squeal of a noise - even better if you do it and then mess around with the whammy bar. takes abit of practice though

Ok dood, you will knoiw how to do a.h's over time. You just sometimes do them accidentally, and slowly you keep doin them by accident, till you learn how to do them on purpose =) Thats how i learnt. Just takes time

I do them by accident sometimes when I play the first bend in the Sweet Child O Mine solo.

It sounds awesome, but I wish I didn't do it accidently because then it would sound a lot better. I am getting better at doing them on purpose, though.
