rockerman
Ok shitty speakers here on office computer- do any of you have the lyrics for Going Down yet? Thanks if you can post them. Digging the opening melody and the vibe of this song. Gets a bit muddy in the middle with the wha wha pedel but so far of all the new material Im giving this a chance. I would like Axl on lead vocals as well as most you probably do. Theres an Izzy vibe to this song in my opinion as well.

VillageGorillaHead
First verse:****************It's a crown of thorns, that never seems to break the skin, there's no blood in the scars,*******************Possibly?
axlsalinger
Nice, I think it's definitely "crown of thorns", changed that. It could be "blood" instead of "love", sounds like a word than ends in "s", but your version makes sense. Next line "Just your broken heart" could be something like "broke apart" ? axlsalinger
Yeah, it's a tough one. Once you get it right you can usually tell, but in this case it could be a group of unfamiliar terms, million tongues, million times. I am starting to lean towards "a million times" but I cannot figure out what comes before that, there is a syllable that sounds like "group" in there. It reminds me of breaking down IRS lyrics from that first leak, there was one line "I bet you think I'm doing this all for my health" that no one could figure out, then as soon as someone posted that line it was "Duh, it's so obvious now lol". Some of his solo stuff I simply have no idea on certain lines. But there are a lot of clever lyrics too, which makes it difficult when we're thinking of obvious words and phrases. Ketan
is it me or does this seem like Tommy singing about Axl? look i don't know what the song is about and how is the relationship between Axl and Tommy (and i couldn't care less) but as i heard it this is what i thought of straight away,i guess after watching Tommy throw his guitar and walk of the stage i kind of always think of him as being miffed by Axl Get into your car and driveJust as fast as you canYou've had your 15 minutesYou tried to take an hourNot no one, easy callImagine if it is indeed about Axl... how cunning they have him singing the backing chorus
Stro
Well, 14 Years was also mostly about Axl, and he sang the backing chorus on that, too.

I was thinking about the part where I heard "group", and I think I figured it out, it's "tip" - "on the tip of a million tongues". A nice turn of phrase that seems to fit.The part where you suggested "blood" - it sounds like "bugs" or something than ends in s ... thought about "lines", still tough to nail that one down. Guest
Maybe the lyrics are about us.Strikes me more of a song about an ex. Except for the bit about the lines about "i heard these words on the tip of a million tongues".But the chorus definitely seems like about an ex - "you never meant to hurt no one, they just happen to be there next to you". And that stuff about "you had you 15 minutes, but you tried to take an hour". Seems like a girl that overwelcomed her stay and he got sick of her.
