Want some REAL news? Here's the TRUTH!

So here’s your newsflash. Someone else should have told you long ago.

Merck lost a lot of „friends“ / industry contracts recently, getting money for the project became an impossible task. Some money came from Dubai, where a concert would have been a personal favour in return for another favour, and some money came from sources that don’t fit with a major label’s idea of where money should come from.

Bumblefoot and Merck can’t stand each other. Bumble gave hints to Axl about Merck putting money on the side, money that should have went into the project. And Merck couldn’t piss into Bumble’s direction because Bumble brought the very contacts to the band that Merck could not deliver anymore. In fact, the contacts are what Bumble is in the band for. If it was Axl’s decision, it would be the 02 lineup minus Brain. But the truth is, the record company has all the saying, and Axl only is in charge about the NEW music.

When it comes to the old songs, Axl and Slash/Duff legally prevent each other from playing UYI material. The covers are covers and YCBM, Don’t Cry and November Rain were written during AFD era and actually belong to the original lineup wich has a different legal agreement than the UYI era Guns. Velvet Revolver are not playing any UYI material either, and that’s not because they don’t like it, but because they are not allowed to.

AFD is different, that’s all contract things, very complicated. But don’t let the songwriting credits fool you, they mean nothing, legally. Maybe some of you have heard some old demo recordings with AFD material and the UYI songs in question that were written WAY before UYI. They are one “license pack”, basically, wich is the reason Axl won’t play any other UYI material. He can’t afford it, and he rather sees royalties going to Dylan and McCartney than to Slash/Duff.

Axl loves UYI, and he hates Slash and Duff for putting him in the position to talk bad about the UYI albums so he can justify playing AFD every night. But playing shows was the only way Guns could earn the money they needed to live on and restart. Slash/Duff knew that and they did everything to keep Axl from touring. Without the money from the shows there would be no CD. But the only way to play shows was to play mostly AFD era material.

Slash and Duff wanted to get Izzy for VR, but Izzy didn’t like what they did to Axl and how disrespectful they treated the music and the band’s legacy. So Izzy did not join VR and ended up playing concerts with Axl.

Meanwhile, some other people came on board to help out, Lars (who unlike James is a huge Guns fan) agreed to do a Metallica/Guns co-headlining tour like in the old days to support Axl and the new band. James agreed to Guns only because Axl agreed to Metallica headlining 60% of the shows.

The “minor additions” are new liner notes, drum tracks by Frank Ferrer and some Pitman voodoo. Izzy was secretly recording since 2004. He co-wrote some of the songs on Chinese Democracy and will officially re-join Guns next year along with the release of the first single. There will be three guitar players all sharing rhyhtm and lead parts.

Bumble recorded for the album to give him the impression he is "on board", but he will suffer the same fate as Merck. There is no shredding on the album - no Bumblefoot, no Buckethead, nothing like it, TWAT solo is completely reworked and sounds a lot more blues now.

If the album isn’t out in March, I will leak it myfuckinself.

Happy holidays everyone.

The rest of your post is pure bullshit, but you bring up a valid point here, although I believe you are wrong in your reasons why the UYI material is being largely ignored by new GNR/VR. I believe that the UYI material is being saved as the "ace in the hole" for when the reunion occurs. AFD has been shoved down our throats so many times over the years by GNR, new GNR, and VR, that UYI is the one thing that can send the prospects of a reunion into the stratosphere.

Well, that's all very interesting. But let's have a source please.

If you have no source - you have no credibility. Simple as that.

..

If the album isn’t out in March, I will leak it myfuckinself...

Sure you will.

I refuse to believe they'll fire BBF. You can't make me believe that. :(

BBF is a nerd. Not a rockstar.

Then what the fuck is Pittman?

:rofl-lol:

Pitman isn't a nerd. That's for sure.

He doesn't spend an hour-a-day checking his myspace, cos he doesn't even use the internet.

Pitman is a musical god.

When he says he'll leak it himself, it doesn't mean he has the album.

There is no album yet.

It means he can get the album.

He's a reliable source...

I can buy the UYI-comments cause it's really weird no one is playing those songs. And if it's because of legal restraints caused by musicians acting like spoiled little babies and who can't put an old brawl behind them it's pretty lame.

...You can't legally make someone not playing something live.

(Unless of course it would be in an official release)

He can’t afford it, and he rather sees royalties going to Dylan and McCartney than to Slash/Duff.
How would they be getting royalties? There hasn't been an official live release by the new GnR... Edited by Scrubs
