  1. The way ticket sales are going it seems that a GN'R show is the safest place to be right now.

  3. What happened to being an artist? I know that ship sailed many years ago for Axl Rose, but I don't understand the fans who refer to the money aspect and say they don't blame Axl for not wanting to do it for that reason. What a shit excuse not to make new music. There are artists who have to spend their life on the road to make ends meet and rely on Crowdfunding to finance their records and yet still find the motivation to record new music. We admire singers and artists because of their creative output, not because of how financially lucrative their endeavors are. Axl has more money t

  7. The axl time line from 94 to 99 his mental and emotional state is the axl i would really like to know. In other words, the wilderness years. Kudos to him for being a recluse rather than being out there looking for attention and being photographed everywhere. Should axl do an autobiography his would be the one i really want to read, it would be the most honest because hes articulate and most likley has a memory like an elephant. During the illusion and years after he wasnt doing drugs, so his memory would be better than the others. I wish he would be more open to doing interviews. A n

  9. Im reminded of the story Slash told about the early days when Axl was staying at Slashs' family's house. How he had to ask Axl stop sleeping on Grand-ma-ma's couch, because it meant she had no where to sit. He asked Axl while they were both passengers in a car. In response Axl jumped out of the moving vehicle onto the road! Seems like for much of Axls life he only knew the two extremes of the emotional spectrum?

  10. Mariah Carey postponed (not cancelled) A SHOW (not her 2020 "shows") in Hawaii until November. If GNR cancels anything it might be blamed on COVID-19 but it won't be "due" to it. Everybody needs to relax. This outbreak is being WAY overblown. Granted China took some extreme measures but they have nearly eliminated the spread in about a month. It isn't that contagious and it isn't all that deadly unless you are elderly or have underlying issues. Even with the flu shot available, the seasonal flu is a MUCH bigger and MUCH deadlier (in total, not mortality rate) public health issu

  11. For a good while, the idea of a new GNR album with many of the Chi Dem era tracks we've been drooling for over the past 12 years post CD with SLASH back on guitar was just too good of a carrot for me to resist and kept me around after 2016. Everything Slash said last year about finishing that up after the fall tour, and certainly Fernando's "within the next 6 months" comment hooked me. Despite being a member of this forum since 2004, and everything I've seen come and go since, I bit. Shame on me I guess. This forum, luckily, is filled with similar fans. Not to sound overly dramatic, bu

  12. You're simply wrong on that first point. Simple as. And as for the US ticket sales no one is saying they're selling amazing. But this will all be factored in to the tour's planning by people access to much better data than we have. There's a reason the US dates were announced so far ahead of time, to get the mega-fans to pay top dollar and then reel in casuals with price reductions and group-on vouchers. Venues will be decently filled and turn a nice profit. The fact the Smashing Pumpkins are supporting them is proof they know that some extra effort is required to move tickets.

  13. Again I strongly but respectfully disagree "Those Fuckers Deserve this After The Bait And Switch for no new album for the same show for the past 5 years" That's what he said and that's a fact You can say I didn't reply to that and so on. But that's what he said. He implied that if GNR canceled the tour he would be happy because of the no new album. He doesn't have to directly say but he can imply it. That's an indisputable fact I'm' done

  14. This tour has no point. Someone in another thread referred to what's happening right now with GNR and the fans as a classic "bait and switch", and I think that's one hundred percent spot on. In other words, we were sold this premise that in 2020 they'd be touring to promote a new album, and they kept the promotion "The Next Chapter!" just vague and coy enough to get some poor souls to pay the ridiculous price of tickets based on the possibility that maybe...just maybe...this tour would be something different/special.

  15. I had it aswell a few days ago and felt like shit after a few days but my immune system.is pretty robust. My boss tried to tell me to stay home and isolate myself but I told him to fuck right off. My service users in the care home come first. If I'm not there to wipe their arses and put them to bed who will.

  16. As much as it's easy to take jabs at the ticket sales, lack of new music, and so forth, I don't think anyone here is saying they want the tour cancelled. The question is will it be cancelled - be it by Guns, Live Nation, or other forced external factors pertaining the virus. It does indeed remain a possibility and that's what the discussion is. Doesn't mean it will be, doesn't mean it won't be. It is a very real possibility that some shows could be postponed depending on what some nations decide to implement.

  17. The difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Republicans close ranks and come out and vote the party line. The far left takes their toys and goes home if their person isn't nominated. That's why Republicans win again and again. And that is very sad because we got Bush instead of Gore, and Trump instead of Clinton.

  18. Whole other kettle of fish. SOA unfortunately landed in Europe right in the middle of a panic, also! they are a new band and can't afford the cost of touring if 2,3 or 4 shows get cut on a run. GNR are playing in May and even if they can't play one show, they are big enough that they can still earn a significant amount on all other dates to cover costs.

  19. Hell, why not make absolutely sure by confining everybody to their homes and shooting anybody who tries to leave? That will ensure no more people get infected.

  20. I think by May things will be a bit more relaxed. At the moment, everything is about this virus! but, I think most of us with decent memories can recall similar hysteria over everything from mad cow disease and everything in between. Not saying it isn't a problem, but I think right now for this month you might see further cancellations for precaution! but as we get into April and May, people will not be half as worried. End of the day, unless you're in bad shape, you should have the immune system to fight this off.

Really enjoyed episode 1 of the litho podcast, thanks guys, good job I've not listened to part 2 yet but looking forward to it, just need to find the time to make sure I can watch it as I'd definitely need to see the litho's on screen as you talk about them - otherwise I won't have a clue what you're talking about

  27. It seems more possible than not that the tour will be postponed. It won't necessarily be Guns decision, but rather Live Nation or select cities/venues depending on what stipulations and restrictions are put in place. It might come down to money/profit. The new Bond movie got postponed by MGM/Universal today (pure business move over projected box office losses due to the virus). If things get worse, Live Nation (for example) might not be willing to take a cut on what the shows might lose in attendance and therefore profits. Let's say Toronto (which is already selling terribly) decides to

Even if I get infected, which I’m sure wont happen, I won’t be worried because it will be like having the flu I reckon, I’m under 40 and healthy. i live in a country with over 17 million people and so far there are 38 cases. im more likely to get hit by a car than anything else. People need to relax.

  30. There's a lot to unpack about Axl. One thing is for sure: nothing about him was ever inauthentic. He was the real deal. He was never "just a singer in a rock band." The words that he sang, and the way that he sang them was unlike any other frontman, and that connected with a lot of people. Add that to how erratic and unpredictable he was both on and off stage, brazen and unafraid to say and do what he wanted, that naturally caused people to react in a stronger way, for better or for worse. Edit: I realized I used past tense in my post, but really, to this day he still emotes these strong

  31. That story always cracks me up, wonder what Axl was thinking. Was he like "you're not the boss of me, I'll show you by hurling myself out of this moving car."

  32. He was one of a handful of true megastars that had "it". People just naturally wanted to see what he would do next back in the day. Tie that in with how much emotion many people put into music and you've got a combo that's hard to look away from. People felt very attached to GNR & Axl at one time, so the combination of all of those things is what makes people still have an emotional reaction.

  34. No they won't cancel the shows unless there is some massive development. Currently only tours in Asia are at risk due to gathering an audience so close together and low attendance due to fear. People really need to stop getting in such a tizzy over this virus. It'll be another footnote by the summer.

  35. On topic* We won't know for sure until we get closer to the dates if the Virus starts winding down then we will see the shows go on. But if there is like 1,000 people being infected every day and lot more people dying I can see them being postponed. Truth is we wont knwo

Doesn't it mean that I am referring to you? If you take the conversation out of context and think I am then yeah. Look at the entire context of the conversation. I did not say anything about you or the board as a whole. I said people as in certain groups

  41. Im becoming ok with a future release titled UYI 3 and 4. Uyi 3 can be redone CD2 stuff, and 4 is all new music. You have bands like led zep that had albums 2,3, and 4. Gnr can do someting similar. If TB has half a brain i really hope they milk the illusions anniversary as much as possible. Stage show, billboards everywhere, dvd and demo boxsets, overpriced merch. Reiisue of the orange/blue illusions shirt. If ever there was an opportune time to milk the fanbase this would be it.
