  1. These are strange times. People around the world are isolated in their homes, cut off from loved ones, unable to attend almost all the social activities they normally would. And in the midst of all that, you see people coming up with tons of incredible and creative ways to still create a sense of togetherness and unity. One of the many ways this is happening is through artists taking to the internet to cheer up and support their fanbases. From personal messages to online live performances to personal video's where they're playing or telling stories to sharing demo material or outtakes. And I t

  2. I just had a conversation about this the other day. If it wasn't for the sub forums and the great people on here, I wouldn't be here any longer. This band has become a miserable piece of shit in my eyes, and I no longer support anything they do.

  3. GnR doesn't do much promotion anyways, so they probably don't feel the need to do anything now. That's ok, there's plenty of other artists who are live streaming etc to watch. If GnR did a live stream or whatever people would end up criticizing it anyway (Axl sounds bad, too many covers, etc). That live stream with Duff was kind of cool though. As far as concerts being cancelled, that's on Live Nation to make an official announcement, which they did earlier when they said all tours were on hold until further notice. So until they say otherwise we can assume that Europe etc are not happeni

  4. Nope. And the band members have always been doing charity, they just don't typically make a fuss about it.

  5. Even if you don’t like how SMKC albums turn out... The riffs are potent! Also I tend to think Slash isn't stupid when it comes to knowing when he's gotten hold of something potentially special. He knew Fall To Pieces as a riff had crossover appeal and squirreled it away-- I think his "GNR folder" is conscious of a certain quality or potential stadium-sized considerations. He has a musical ego and a stake in the GNR legacy. I imagine his worst-case scenario is using them down the line in SMKC, if nothing materializes with respect to Guns... I think he's probably sitting on some coo

  7. It would be such a comfort for millions to have Axl look into his webcam and scream "you know where you are, you're in the jungle baby, you gonna die." Click.

  8. The lack of cancellations and announcement on upcoming concerts is fucking unacceptable. But the notion that Guns should do anything else in relation to the virus is absolutely mind boggling to me.... 'I got an email from Burger Kings CEO about Covid, therefore he cares about me more than GNR.' No offence anyone, but give me a f'n break! With these artists and celebrities doing live streams from home, its no different than any other businesses - Its all promotion and PR. With maybe some megalomania and boredom in the mix as well. These are the reasons why celebrities are upping the

  9. A trademark, like Guns N' Roses, exerces a social function. This is a very known concept in the marketing business. So, the impact of the trademark decisions is transfered to the public's perception of it. This could generate a positive, or a negative image of them, which directly influences the success of the band. In example, let's say Metallica does a livestream about COVID-19, playing music, talking and being friendly. They'll be much more remembered than GNR, it'll make more headlines, and, thefefore, they'll sell more music/tickets. Not doing anything is straight up bad management.

  10. people really are waiting on TB's response to this epidemy? GNR is a rock band. they play music. I find it funny how every time there's something unusual happening in the world, people expect GNR to offer "their take" on it. it's like one of those B list 80s action movies. "Robocop, do you have a message for the kids at home?" "stay out of trouble" here's a thought. For condolence and support, why not talk to your partner / friends or something? Don't tell me you only have GNR in your life.

  13. I could see the argument about songs and how they utilized the riffs... but not the riffs themselves ... between the six SMKC/VR records? Bad take. I mean, I like Snakepit the best of his solo stuff, too, but... if the argument is he doesn't have the creative capacity anymore, it's just not gonna fly. He's best with co-writers sure, that's what people want out of this thing, but as Free Bird said, his primary skill is intact for a new GNR album.

  14. I need to be very clear here: this forum will not serve as a platform by which those who seek to purchase and then release copyright material are given free reign to do so. I'm putting a lock on this discussion for now in the hopes that those who have interest or intentions to discuss this matter will do so elsewhere. It's been made clear to me via a variety of different stakeholders that GNR is not messing when it comes to unauthorized distribution of unreleased music. Those who seek pseudo-fandom from these pursuits are advised to move along and take your nonsense with you. As

  17. You should lock down this forum. and send a message to TB, AXl etc. that basically says "Fuck U, we are no longer going to support you cunts" They don't give a shit about us, and with the emergency the world is facing right now, they showed us even more. No news, nothing, not even a word from them. for the first time in my life I don't give a shit about GnR anymore... too late, sorry. This will be my last visit on this site. It's been nice coming here many times and read your topics and go through comments. stay safe guys.

  19. Brian May has been one of my favourite musicians to follow during this. Live streams of him just jamming in his living room, taking requests, and breaking down iconic Queen riffs. He's even posted playthroughs and encouraged musicians to take what he's played and have a "virtual jam" by adding your own drums, bass, etc...

  20. So you are definitely one of those who don't get that Slash's more or less the same and still fantastic at what he does best, riffs and solos. And with each member of Guns who adds his input and concentrates on his strenghts, the outcome will be tighter. Many Axl-Slash moments are unmatched in music history. That wouldn't be possible without a certain chemistry and that's something you have or you haven't. You can add dozens of other guitarits as replacements and it will not be the same.

  25. Assuming the rumors of the rejected 2010 album are true, that would be a welcome corona surprise by the band. Sell it as a digital download, with a portion of the proceeds going towards relief efforts on the impact of corona. Hell, I'd even take the CD remix album.

  26. GNR in fact turned into jackass for fans very long time ago. My early memory of such behaviour is when they decided not to live stream their show at Pukkelpop 2002. That whole festival was streamed live except GNR. Guess was the same case before that in Summer Sonic festival in Japan. I guess ever since Beta became Axl's personal assistant (and later manager) the whole band-fans relationship turned into a totally different game.

  27. Absolutely. There were so many things GN'R could be doing as a nixe gesture to their fans before all of this, it doesn't surprise me in the last that they're not now. Also, if and when they finally get around to acknowledging the situation regarding the tour, I would bet one million dollars that they'll post a vague "tour is postponed" message with little to know detail about what to expect. They sure as shit aren't going to remotely think about issuing refunds as the money is the only thing they actually care about.

  28. And it's also a different sound. Slash and Izzy were more akin to the 70s classic rock bands not only in tone, but playing style. Even Duff's punk-rock influences in his bass are way different than what other bands were doing at that time.

  30. In regards to a cancellation /postponement of the tour, they'll have to wait and see how the situation develops in the other countries, regarding the extension of measures. It doesn't make sense to cancel individual concerts bit by bit. Of course, Austria was the first country to announce that no events will take place in June, but it is very likely that the other countries will follow, and by then there will be a general decision. There are other bands (like Rammstein) that would have done a European tour in May/June ( ALSO including a concert in Austria) and there is also no cancel

EDIT: actually, that would just leave you blind, wouldn't it? Which, ironically, is what you are anyway if you expect shit from the lads.

  32. No, Bad Apples is a gamble lol. But since they only played it twice, and the warm-up theatre shows were all really good, I went with that one. Edit: I'll send you the Winnipeg audio, they didn't play Nice Boys or My Michelle but they did play a kickass version of Nightrain. It's an audience recording but sounds decent.

  33. One of most weirdest GNR type dreams I've had was hanging out with the current members of GNR and Angus Young, but everybody looked like how they currently look but Axl was '88 Axl, then everybody left and Axl and I smoked a cigarette, then Axl shot up some heroin and I woke up.

  34. About 10-15 years ago on an Oasis forum I follow, a very early Noel Gallagher demo tape from 1989 became available which included 5 unreleased songs. Long story short we all clubbed in to buy the tape, someone ripped the songs, they were shared online, and finally the tape was posted back to Noel Gallagher. Something similar on here with this unreleased GNR material could maybe work?

  40. Thanks again listening and the positive feedback! We've got some REALLY cool improvements to the show coming next week, I'm very excited for everyone to hear them. Its funny you mention Dawes. They're a band I only heard of because of my Friday Music Nights. A person who attends regularly brought one of their albums a couple of years ago and played a song called A Little Bit Of Everything. Holy shit, what a song. I've seen them a couple of times in concert since.

  41. I totally agree with this. It's such a shame that they don't think or give back to the fans that put them where they are today. They could release videos for free, they could do acoustic videos online, they could this they could that. But at the end of the day they don't do anything. Is it because they are only doing it for the money? Is it because they are not creative enough to put out there live versions of their music in different forms? Is it because AXL is shame of how his voice looks on videos? Is it because they are ruled by pathetic managers like Fernando? Wel
