  1. Axl was still the best rock n' roll frontman on the planet in 2010. He still had the voice and charisma, but also talked to the crowd a lot, handed out tequila shots to fans, stopped songs/shows, brought out people like Bubbles... there was still a level of unpredictability that NITL sorely lacks.

  2. I don't see anyone changing their minds after Axl's remarks on Trump here. So the problem is not about which side Axl takes (even though he already stated he's not taking sides or parties), but the fact that you disagree with him, so he shouldn't talk about things you don't like. Seems like people are really not fan of democracy, and I'm not even talking about the chinese one.

  3. I am at a loss to understand why this is such a big deal. Axl makes some political remark (not asking anybody to believe or disbelieve) you can choose to leave it there, mull it over or ignore it...end of.

  4. Oh honestly, who gives a flying fuck about what Axl thinks about politics? I care about Axl's opinion about as much as I care about Trump's opinion on the current state of Axl's voice...

  5. I don't see the value in rock artists tweeting about politics. I find it douche baggery of the highest order. yet, people listen to whatever they have to say. is it, because "estranged" has such moving guitar solos, that Axl's views have any more value than that of the garbage worker? Yes, there certainly are people thinking that way. It is childish to look up to rock artists for inspiration on political issues. I think you didn't mature enough mentally, if rock artists are the people that provide guidance to you. To those people I say: you live in a dreamworld, its all fantasy.

  6. I understand the loan perfectly. I don't think you understood my point...Steve Mnuchin and Donald J. Trump set up the PPP Loan program. Axl's people, rightfully, took advantage of the program. Rather than showing gratitude, or just staying out of it, Axl tweeted this: "It’s official! Whatever anyone may have previously thought of Steve Mnuchin he’s officially an asshole." What a hypocrite. (This belongs in the political thread, but I felt I needed to explain myself here. Sorry to the mods...I'm done!)

  7. The money was never going to be allocated to those for whom it was meant for. The scales are tipped, but as Kurt said Pearl Jam and GNR are taking cash from the very source they speak poorly of. Im not going to trip on that fact, but it shows that they aren’t the most informed people at all times.

  10. Maybe it seems like a straw man argument for you because you don't seem to understand how media/communications works or a bit of common sense on why the freedom of expression should be equal to everyone. Obviously there's people who agree with Axl and, even so, they don't like his remarks on politics for whatever reason. But those are the exception, at least here. The vast majority of those complaining are against Axl's POV on Trump's administration. There are even people mad at possible lyrics they didn't even listen to in possible unreleased songs that maybe for a chance are about Trum

  13. I have to say it, guys like DieselDaisy and Swampfox attack BLM as "marxist" because that's a more politically correct way to attack them. They don't want to attack them directly the way they probably would when they were having a beer with a mate. It is what it is, we all have our public and private positions, as Hillary (correctly) said.

  18. Totally agree. I WOULD throw that tin of paint. An early photo of Axl looks as though he is wearing a fur coat, it would have looked much better on the animal, he looked ridiculous and I was offended on behalf on the animal.

  20. I guess I should have said at the top that I am going to get a refund. I was taking my two Sons to their first GNR show so it is a bummer. But I don't think going to a concert is realistic until at least 2022. That's too far out to have a big chunk of money tied up in 100 level tickets.

  23. Lots of sheep follow the opinions of celebrities for whatever reason. I'm sure celebs know this, and use their heightened platforms as such. I get it, to an extent. Famous people are people too, and like everyone, or most everyone, sometimes we can't keep our opinions bottled it, and thus a release of some kind is needed.

  26. Here it is not considered ''condescending'', but even if it was, he deserved it because he was acting like a punk. And old enough to know better. He was lucky I didn't smack him. I could have easily fallen off my bike or getting hit by a car because of his little prank. I don't understand how I'm the bad guy for calling him out on it. More people should do that.

  28. Same sorta thing happened to me the other day. Actually happens quite often, but I usually ignore it or shout a quick 'fuck you' and be on my way again. But the other day I was in a bad mood. I was driving my bike and there were two other cyclists coming from the other direction on the same bike path, and for some reason I knew that they would scream something at me while passing by. Sometimes you just know something like that will happen, right? And lo and behold, one of them screamed something really loud, to try and scare me, I guess. This time I thought... fuck it, I don't have

  31. Not really hugely different, young man, comes into a shitload of money and success, doesn't have a support system (how many of these ghetto kids that become huge fighters do?) didn't handle his business well, that sounds a shitload like many many boxers. As far as who cared for him in his corner, well thats a matter of the people that were actually there, the guys Cus put in place are considered by some to be wholly honourable (i.e. Jim Jacobs, Bill Cayton) and by others, including Mike in the case of Cayton, not so honourable. I dunno, this shit is a mans personal life and I don't take any

  32. people usually talk more when they're excited/more emotional in most cases and when they're more invested. Axl went on tour in support of Chinese very late as you know, 2009. So in 2010 he probably still had a reason to be very excited to present it to the fans live. Can't really expect him to feel the same way about other shit like on NITL for 4 years cause it just doesn't compare to the release of Chinese, something he wanted to present to the world for more than 10 years. and 10 years is a long time. At 48 years old he sounded so good that some of the old tunes live sounded like w

  36. You have claimed it is a marxist organization and movement. So I asked if you believe the vast majority of people who support the organization and movement because they too support a marxist makeover of American society. As for your the evidence you have provided, I have to surmise that boolean logic was not your strong suit in school. Your first point states that because two of the three founders are trained marxists, that dictates the organization itself is marxist. There's no logic in that assertion. Did electing John F. Kennedy to President make American government Catholic

  37. Well you spoke so definitive, it didn't leave much room for a song or two to be good. And wiseass, It's as much Guns N Roses as whatever the next album is, so get over it... I'm not talking about the majority of the public or GNR fans, I'm talking exclusively about the people who did enjoy it and whether you like it or not there are a lot of people who love the record. I love it, and I wasn't around in 87... but I think i'm qualified enough to figure out what is and isn't good. Also, I don't have some rose tinted nostalgic idea of what GNR should be... which I get! but I much prefer bein

  38. You are dishing out more straw men than Soul in an allotment today. If 2/3rds of the founders of BLM are, by their own recorded and easily accessed confession, ''trained Marxists'', is it little wonder that Americans are categorising Black Lives Matters as (lo and behold) ''Marxists''? What else is one to extrapolate from a statement by the founders, that they're ehh ''Marxists'''? That they're ''not Marxists'' somehow? That they're, ''maybe a bit Marxist, but only on Saturdays''? That, ''although they said that they're Marxist, actually what they meant was something different entirely''?

  39. The Verdict(1982) Paul Newman, Charlotte Rampling, James Mason, Jack Warden, Lindsay Crouse Fantastic movie with an even better performance from Newman. How did he not win the oscar? (Answer, he was up against Ben Kingsley as Ghandi.) The supporting cast was perfect also. One of the best courtroom dramas ever, they just don't make them like that anymore.

  48. I'm pretty sure there was a Robin Catcher solo, as Brian May joined because Axl was too attached to Robin's works. About SOD: I believe the snippet we hear in the Boston 2002 promo (not the TV version, but the radio spot) has Richard's version of the outro solo. You're right about Robin - it's the lead following Axl's vocals. But it also complements Bumblefoot solo - Robin enters at 2:47 in the album version. You can hear it too in the Brian May demo.
