  4. It'd be funny and totally a Fernando move if they announced Houston but only ended giving us Wish You Were Here from it. No Axl vocals at all. On a serious note, I'm glad we've finally got Houston on the way!

  5. No, you don't shoot to kill someone because they don't follow orders. You don't shoot to kill someone because you failed to tase them. No, you don't shoot to kill someone simply because they carry a knife. No, you don't shoot to kill someone because they are entering a car. No, you don't shoot to kill someone because they fought you before. You shoot to incapacity if, and only if, it is the only available option to avoid imminent danger to yourself or other people. I can't believe how you can excuse that horrible killing and argue that it could have been justified. Do you honestly be

  8. Definitely BY FAR the best NITL selects so far

  9. This was a great fucking NITL Select. Whoever made this happen, thank you. Mixing-wise can still be improved, same as video-wise, but the actual performances were awesome. It's a whole different game when Axl is on. He's really the difference maker in this band

  16. Fingers crossed for a nice Estranged.

  17. Looks like they've finally almost done something right. Only took them 3 months, but we should've expected that from this band. Mexico 2016 (the 4.20 show) has easily the best performance of Estranged from the whole tour. Give me that and a few Houston 2016 videos and I'm happy.

  20. Actually I would say it's even lower probability that the suspect gets in his car and casually drives off, not endangering anyone. That might be the lowest probability of all! You sure have a way of admiring and respecting the police. Expecting them to get themselves into Mortal Kombat with suspects that have knives (and pray they don't have a gun in the car) or being perfect marksman where if they have to shoot someone no stray bullets miss and hit children that are directly behind the suspect. Soul, stick to hard science threads, your ability to reason in a street situation is seve

  22. The justification isn't that they failed to apprehend him or that he had warrants. The justification is that he was noncompliant, violent and belligerent and threatening deadly force on others lives. Are the police offices lives worth less than the person they're trying to apprehend? Are they supposed to wait to get stabbed or shot, but only then be able to defend themselves? I can't wrap my head around that. When would they ever possibly be able to apprehend this person if he's acting the way he was? I have a hard time believing he'd be more agreeable to being arrested the next time they trie

  25. It’s totally a generational thing - people of a certain age know the value of music whereas I’d argue the majority of the younger population don’t (not all - there is always an exception to the ’rule‘). I always make a point of buying stuff I like by my favourite artists - lots of us do but not everyone. I just wish there was more stuff of one of my favourite bands to buy......

  26. He's a total prick. I agree with every musician here: https://www.nme.com/news/music/musicians-criticise-spotify-ceo-album-release-comments-2719827 "Work harder to make me more money". Spotify fuck over artists, so fuck them. I wish artists would boycott them....but with no viable alternative they're stuck. All I can do as a fan is never use it. But, yeah, absolutely Taylor Swift is the benchmark for how to release a new album..... especially in the pandemic. It sold great even though she couldn't tour to promote to it. And 'shock, horror' shitloads of people bought physical copies!

  27. This is an interesting interview with the Spotify CEO. (https://www.nme.com/news/music/spotify-ceo-says-its-not-enough-for-artists-to-release-albums-every-3-4-years-2719272) "“You can’t record music once every three to four years and think that’s going to be enough. The artists today that are making it realise that it’s about creating a continuous engagement with their fans. It is about putting the work in, about the storytelling around the album, and about keeping a continuous dialogue with your fans.” Or a lost less frequently if you're Guns N' Roses. As much as I can understand a

  29. Solid interview @Gambit83. I personally don't care if American musicians speak out about something in the United States, they have the right to. But if its an uninformed and lazy opinion that lacks substantive data/information to back it up they better expect to be mocked for it.

  30. I'm so happy we got Coma from Houston. I've been shattered ever since those excellent crowd videos got taken down due to a certain fuckwit. Houston really needs a full release. Hands down the best show since the reunion.

  34. Coma was good (particularly the end which is a bitch to sing - I’ll give him credit for even trying) but Out Ta Get Me was absolutely rocking - there definitely seemed to be a fire within he band that night. Maybe it was just my phone but did the sound ‘change’ about 3/4 through the broadcast?? Suddenly got louder and better?

  35. If Trump gets in again I could see the BBC self-detonating or going into some computer meltdown like HAL from 2001. And all the Owen Joneses, Polly Toynbees and James O' Brians of the world are going to look as sick as they did on Brexit night. It will be glorious.

  40. Direct spoilers would give away the exact reason they ruined it for me.... the movie serves its purpose if your just after a light hearted trip down memory lane but I was hoping for a bit more. it definitely had some funny moments, It starts off really well but the storyline just falls apart towards the end, then I was just hoping it would end.

  42. That is amazing to have people who help you like that. So many wonderful people in Texas are also helping out where anyone needs help. Some have small businesses that donate the proceeds to different causes. Well, sorry you are high risk, so you keep yourself inside and well. My grandma would make the beans and pasta separately and then after both are done, mix them together in the bean pot. That way it all mixes together well. I love corn on the cob. It tastes so much better than any other corn and good for you too! Enjoy your bountry! Yeah, so glad you got to

  43. You brought up "worst case scenario", not me. I don't think yours was the worst case. I think mine was. I also didn't mean that he was going to kill some random innocent bystander, btw. He would likely (hypothetically) put his sights on the officers that are in close proximity.

  44. They used a taser on him and it wasn't effective for one reason or another. They were heard yelling "drop the knife" by the man who filmed the encounter as he walked back into his vehicle. Mr SoulMonster, put yourself into the shoes of the cops, the taser you have tried to use on the suspect was not effective. You believe the suspect has a knife and he's walking back into his vehicle. What do you do?

  45. Conservatives follow the law. If the law states a police officer can use deadly force if he thinks a suspect is reaching for a weapon and/or if he fears for his safety or the safety of others, then it could be considered a "justifiable shooting". That's the law in most states. I this particular case, the suspect struggled with police. He told the police he had a knife. The police tried to tase him but he still resisted arrest. The police gave him multiple orders to surrender and he still went into his car. So far, that could be considered "justified" Now...the fact th

  46. If you can't put your hand in your pocket and spend a few pounds/dollars on something an artist has spent a lot of time and money on to support them to do the same in the future then it's a sorry state of affairs. Some people seem happy to spend more on a damn coffee than music.

  47. People write music in ways that they know/hope will appeal to the spotify playlist generation algorithms. So the CEO and the algorithms essentially pressure songwriters into selecting types of rhythms to get on like a 'chill out' playlist. And they are pressured to sing about BBQing to get on 'pool party' playlists. Producers observe what synths are favoured by the algorithms and put it on everything. Its not good. Similar thing happening on Tic Tok too. Artists are able to observe and anticipate what rhythms and themes will go viral. So theres artists who dont follow their muse, they fol
