  1. He said in 1987 that he “could listen to anything from Bananarama to Metallica’s latest album” (which was Master of Puppets, at the time). He said in 1990 that he liked Public Enemy. He said in 1991 that he liked L7. He also said that year that he loved U2’s Achtung Baby album, and that he cried when he heard the song “One” from that album for the first time. He admitted in 1992 that he liked Nirvana’s Nevermind (despite the feud at the time). He said in 1999 that he liked White Zombie. Baz said in 2006 that Axl liked WASP... I assume Axl also likes Skid Row, but who r

  2. No, don't say that. The absolute last thing I need on Christmas Day is to be looking at a GNR forum!

  3. That album needs to leak on Christmas Day if nothing concrete regarding new material emerges from GNR in 2020. #TheNextChapter

  5. Wow.. You should get it!! I know people talk shit about it around here but it is still a really good album.. You have to be an super GnR nerd to notice the over dubs or whatever.. That isn't a knock on anyone here either, but most people wouldn't notice. We are all super GnR nerds to some extent. I never knew until I saw people posting about it on the boards and there is still some great stuff that wasn't touched.. The version of You're Crazy alone is worth picking up a copy. Jungle, Estranged and even Rocket Queen with the missing guitar track are all great!

  6. I've shared it before here, but it's one of my favorite GnR stories to tell: I was driving to class, I was a freshman in college when it came on the radio. This was long before the internet (or at least what it is now) and I had NO IDEA there was anything incoming from GnR. The DJ was like "This is the new song from Guns N Roses..." and I was like "What?!" and I pulled over to the side of the road and say there as I listened to it right there as traffic passed me by! At the time, if I remember correctly, it was unclear what the future of GnR was. I 100% know it wasn't offic

From 1989: Also (mentioned by him or others in interviews or based on the t-shirts he wore etc.): Elvis, Frank Sinatra, The Rolling Stones (Some Girls must be one of his favourites from them), The Beatles, The Who, AC/DC (especially Highway to Hell), Thin Lizzy (especially Black Rose), Billy Joel, The Doors, Eagles, George Michael, Depeche Mode, The Pet Shop Boys, LL Cool J, Jane's Addiction (the two albums before they broke up), Soundgarden, NIN, Prince's Purple Rain, David Bowie, Sweet, The Raspberries, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Bauhaus, Devo, Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run,Le

  9. Yep, I think you’re right. I think we just need another leakfest, clear the vaults and let the band release a new album when and if they choose. Who’s with me?

  11. I just wondered if Axl ever did one of those 'Favourite albums of all time' lists... or has albums that he has singled out as his favourites in interviews over the years? I'm guessing there would be some early Queen, Some Elton John, Stones, NIN etc? I figured you guys would know, cheers!

  12. Axl is creatively bankrupt and has been for years. I think people are really delusional about what newly written music is gonna sound like from a 60 year old Axl, compared to his past material. The best to hope for would be a release of everything in the vault, which I’d be very happy with. Hopefully they are reworking some old Axl tunes and not making some stupid “Rock or Bust” type generic ac/dc type album.

  17. They are playing it right now on my local classic rock radio station. I realize it isn't big news but I am not sure I have ever heard this version on the radio and it is pretty cool. This station usually plays the crap out of the studio version. They should play more Live Era stuff on the radio.

  18. TTWII is an excellent document of why Elvis was a bad ass. Like you mentioned, the rehearsal scenes are as good or better than the concert footage. It's a really good peak into what a great arranger Elvis was.

  19. Live Era is GN'R on steroids. Fucking amazing. Rocket Queen is vastly superior than what is on Appetite. Axl's re-recorded vocals are 10/10

  21. Sorry soon. Just got an email from James Patterson the other day about the book. Well, since I have a young daughter, I got the book so I can read it to her. She is also a fan of GNR. lol The book has such pretty colorful pictures and since it has a little girl in in, I think it's cool to have.

  23. Enjoy. Are they sustainable again now? There was a time the Japanese trawlers were really kicking their arse. I've made chilli tonight. Minced beef, chopped red peppers and onion red kidney beans and a tin of chopped tomatoes with some chilli powder. Served with some rice and loads of Doritos 😎

  27. https://www.mushroomdiary.co.uk/2016/10/the-infamous-magic-mushroom/ There's loads of guides and charts you can get they grow in woods and fields when there's been lots of rain and sun. They are the thin long ones. This time of years perfect. You could probably have found some while you were poncing about up the mountain last week.

  30. A horse. Finish the book I was reading. The murder didn't make much sense. The author got rid of the main guy's long time girlfriend and burned down his historic home without hardly any notice from the guy. I'm afraid I'm not making much sense writing either. Just following the story along not knowing where I'm going. Neither of us know where we're going.

  31. I don't know where I read it, I wish I had your memory for quote locations 😄Edit... possibly from the terrible Mick Wall WAR book. Yeah, FNM were never a band I totally got, but I love a couple of their songs. Maybe they are just one those bands that were better when you experienced it there and then, rather 20yrs after the fact. I remember liking 'We care a lot' and buying a greatest hits collection and the real thing. 'From out of nowhere' sounds like what VR sculpted their sound from. Not surprised he liked Mr Bungle 🤣

  32. I feel like they've tweaked the marketing as a result of the delay to emphasize the spectacle of the film. Even the newest poster abandoned the more indie-style, teal colour scheme of the earlier posters and just went for a classic tux shot with gold and black as the main colours. Side note - I do hope that's a bit of Zimmer's score we hear in the trailer. Thunderball vibes.

  33. I know Axl and I must share at least one favorite albums because he tweeted some lyrics from Roger Waters' Amused To Death once. That's always been one of my absolute favorites and apparently it's one of his too.

  35. The ones listed all check out. I believe the Singer of Nazareth was a big influence, so Id assume that library. Bon era AC/DC Pink Floyd, The Wall, Final Cut (iirc) Pearl Jam, Vitalogy-Yeild (at least) Ozzy, No More Tears ( I assume, since after that he tried to poach Zakk??)

  36. Well, I remember reading an old article where he said he had just spent like 1300 bucks on CDs. The two I remember him mentioning were George Michael and Soundgarden. In fact, he said Soundgarden's Louder Than Love would've been a desert island album for him.

  38. I remember that show well. I had a good time, it was an ok show. It was definitely more empty that expected. I thought things were looking grim at the time and I couldn't believe how much they'd fallen off since 2006. So many peaks and valleys in the history of GNR haha. Feel like the Up Close and Personal shows were solid and got people more interested in GNR again, but it was basically the same setlist in a more intimate setting. The Ritz show was the best of all those NYC shows.

  39. Tommy Stinson, Robin Finck, Buckethead and Brain are definitely not insignificant by any means - very talented individuals in their own right as was the rest of the players Axl brought on board (excluding DJ - at least for me) They contributed to very solid material my good sir, material that in my opinion is some of the finest released under the GN'R name and the rest that stemmed from these sessions I'm hopeful we will be enjoying in the not so distant future, reworked by this current band.

The antifa guy who allegedly murdered the Trump supporter Aaron Danielson has been killed as authorities attempted to arrest him. https://apnews.com/f0418fd4a37be8d9b6953c8359109587 Generally not a good idea to produce a firearm and threaten the people attempting to arrest you. 43. I love UGK. Where I'm from they're legends. Bun B is cold as ice and Pimp C is one of the most copied mc's ever. I go back and forth between that album and their self titled as my favorite. I mean that's Pimp C singing the hook. That is some trill shit right there.

  47. Look at other action and sci-fi movies of the 80's and early 90's. T1 and T2 have such a different feel and are almost in a world of their own. The Terminator movies that came after just seem to fit in with their action/sci-fi counterparts. This is made even worse when they just keep remaking the same chase movie over and over. Another critique is how indestructible they started making the actual Terminators. The Terminator in the first movie had his hand messed up from a single shotgun blast. Even the T-1000 started glitching at the end of the 2nd movie (in the directors cut, which I co

  48. There's so may cool 'high quality' merch they could make as a separate range to go alongside the cheap stuff like trucks and toy yo-yo's. My idea would be for a 'Not in This Lifetime encyclopedia' It'd have - A huge section on all the lithographs - A section on the design and setup of the stage they used - A breakdown of the gear used by all the guys etc
